  1. My experience is that the c-max is very sensitive to outside air temp. I think it's that more than break-in.
  2. Actually, I believe the air conditioning compressor is electric, unlike most cars. However, the "juice" has to come from somewhere, so the engine will need to recharge the battery more often when using AC, and that "surely lowers mpg".
  3. Stumbled across http://cmaxhybridowners.com and found my userid and password worked on that forum as well as this one! Similiar, but not identical, sub-forums. Apparently also hosted by Ford. "What up with that?"
  4. I believe it's the GPS antenna; you have GPS whether or not you have navigation (GPS = navigation is a common misconception). And you did ask a serious question regardless of what some might think. Cheers.
  5. A separate topic for navigation rather than part of Infotainment. And a separate topic for documentation (Owner's Manual in particular) errata.
  6. Since there are many new members, I thought i'd ask again: does anyone know if the Type 2 key can be used to gain panic alarm functionality?
  7. Actually, this brings up an interesting possibility. Does the MFT aggregate names and/or numbers? For example, if there are 2 or more phones paired, does the MFT combine the numbers or does it keep separate lists?
  8. Another reason to be able to shift from drive to neutral without squeezing the trigger.
  9. The owners manual is mum on this point. Anyone tried it? Any gotcha's?
  10. My SEL does not have a rear view camera. Yet, a couple of days ago, I received an error message concerning the rear view camera; something to the effect that it wasn't working, see dealer. Anyone else had this happen? Is there a fix?
  11. This just happened to me, too. I have a "plain vanilla" SEL, i.e., I have MFT but not navigation, purchased last September. In my case, I received a call while driving. As I had the phone in my hand (because one can't tell what time it is otherwise  ), I answered the call using the phone. After I hung up, the radio came on!! And wouldn't shut off using the push-button volume control. But wait. Told SYNC to turn off the radio and that worked. Yet another bizarre MFT bug. Is this fixed in the illusive 3.5.1 version?
  12. Two additional improvements: I'd like to be able to shift from drive to neutral without pushing the button thus making smooth stops easier (avoids the lurch at the end).Optionally have the rear proximity alarm work in neutral as well as reverse.
  13. 90% Peace and Quiet 5% NPR on FM 5% Red Sox baseball
  14. GPS can tell you where on earth you are, but not how to get somewhere else. That's where navigation comes in. My C-max has GPS so it knows when it's close to home (actually just where it's frequently parked). It does not have navigation so we have no clue how to get somewhere else. :-)
  15. Just to be clear, are we talking about navigation or GPS? They are not the same.
  16. I've used dry-eraser-board cleaner for several years on laptop screens, tv's, eyeglasses, cd's, dvd's, etc. Works like a charm.
  17. Also, take a look at the SEL model. It has a lot of really niceties that is not in the SE such as leather seat, rear view camera, My Ford Touch - that could be the cup of tea. Alas, the rear view camera is not standard on the SEL. I wish it were.
  18. If we take "hidden" to mean "pleasantly surprising," then one of mine is the notch in the center console that allows A/V and recharger cables to exit with the lid closed.
  19. Perhaps it's waiting for the backup camera to be available (assuming, of course, you have that feature).
  20. Not a big deal. Delete the old phone entry then add the new one. I believe I had to go back "home" a couple of times but basically a simple process.
