Interesting, must be unique to this car, have had other navigation equiped fords that had sync and was able to update the map version without having to update sync. Had to admit this is the first ford since 1973 that I am really regretting leasing, the support and assistance is not there. Was promised a call back or email one way or the other on thsi and other issues that have been occuring with the car by 1:30 Friday afternoon last week from one of the ford tech specialists - it is now 6AM on Monday - no call, no email. Begining to doubt I will see one
-
what A4 card do you have? have not even seen those available
-
No they are the same thing, the updates are not available for early adopters but for anyone that buys the car now has it
-
they have the a4 card, the a4 card is available, if you have a nav system you do not download the update for a car with NAV, you get a new card from the dealer, same as the cars coming from the manufacturer with it. A4 = New map + 3.5.1 update for both version of cars - early adopters and new delivery cars to the dealer
-
will believe it when I see it - the dealer I do business with has no idea either just like the ford tech specialist I spoke to
-
would be surprised if it is this month. I opened a ticket to ford on this subject, took them a week to get back to me and the vehicle technology specialist had no idea when it would be available. He promised to email or call me by 5:00 PM on Friday with some more information - 7:30 AM on Saturday and no email or phone call, the update has been promised real soon now since December 10th.

MFT current version CMAX SEL, V3.1.3?
Wingrider01 replied to JohnTrigger's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
been there since Decemeber 10th. if you have navigation you don't download you need to go to the dealer and get a new card. Patience is worn thin as of right now. The new c-maxes have it under current mass production of sd cards then can have hunderds of thousands available in a week for early adopters. This has been my expierence back to the first sync equipped vehicle I lease in 2008, they tend to delay or never upgrade the vehicles that have already been sold. it still reflects as 3.1.3 as being current version for the c-max -
see zero need for either, 1 TB passport in the console box with the music that I prefer
-
Long as you have a iphone and a good cellulsr data plan you should be ready to go

iPhone 5 music and sync
Wingrider01 replied to littlebitfarm's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
Only if Sirius fits the listening choices, when for me it does not - so will stick with my 1TB usb drive and after the free Sirius runs out will not pay the subscription Where is this caution about the iphone and the sync system, have never seen nor heard of it -
I see, the last Chrysler / dodge / Plymouth that I swore I would ever own or pay attention to was the Plymouth Superbird, have leased almost nothing but ford products since then except for the one H1 I owned for a few years, still kicking myself for selling the Superbird

isn't Uconnect just a glorified Bluetooth connect for your phone? The Bluetooth pairing works great here also, only drawback is I want multiple phones active at the same time so that I can make and accept calls on two phones on a simple voice command like "call my id1ot boss on work phone" or "call girlfriend on personal phone"

this brings up a question - have the lights in auto lamp position all the time problem is I do not see the headlight indicator come on when the wipers are on - which is required by law, anybody able to verify that they do indeed come on when the wipers are on - I run the wipers in the rain sensing position

Got a letter today from a marketing group

was it from Maritz? If so got that one about a month ago, they are one of the largest market research companies around -
Have one like that for my goldwing, only difference is there a couple of larger compressed air cannisters with it that will get some pressure in the tire and lessen the load on the built in air compressor on the bike, have the larger version of it in the storage compartment in front of the second row seats

SD Card and USB spec question

Different ways of Formatng a storage device for use FAT32 - This strange term refers to the way Windows stores data on your hard drive. "FAT" stands for "File Allocation Table," which keeps track of all your files and helps the computer locate them on the disk. Even if a file gets fragmented (split up into various areas on the disk), the file allocation table still can keep track of it. FAT32 is an improvement to the original FAT system, since it uses more bits to identify each cluster on the the disk. This helps the computer locate files easier and allows for smaller clusters, which improves the efficiency of your hard disk. FAT32 supports up to 2 terabytes of hard disk storage. Unless you are a serious power user, that should be more than enough space for you. NTFS - Stands for "New Technology File System." NTFS is a file system introduced by Microsoft with Windows NT and is supported by subsequent versions of Windows, such as Windows 2000 and Windows XP. NTFS has a number of advantages over the previous file system, named FAT32 (File Allocation Table). One major advantage of NTFS is that it includes features to improve reliablity. For exmaple, the new technology file system includes fault tolerance, which automatically repairs hard drive errors without displaying error messages. It also keeps detailed transaction logs, which tracks hard drive errors. This can help prevent hard disk failures and makes it possible to recover files if the hard drive does fail. NTFS also allows permissions (such as read, write, and execute) to be set for individual directories and files. It even supports spanning volumes, which allows directories of files to be spread across multiple hard drives. The only reason why you would not want to select NTFS when formatting your hard drive is if you like slow, outdated technology or you need to run an older operating system such as Windows 95 or MS-DOS. Of course, if you are running DOS, there is a good chance you really do like outdated technology. exFat - (EXtended File Allocation Table) An enhanced version of the FAT file system from Microsoft that uses less overhead than NTFS. It extends the maximum file size of 4GB in FAT32 to virtually unlimited. exFAT was added to Windows CE and Windows Vista (SP1). See FAT32. If I recall right Sync will only recognize a usb key formated as FAT32
