  1. Large thread about it here http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/topic/2502-new-fsa-notice-13c02-headliner-head-impact-protection/ Dealers also have a do not deliver hold on the C-Maxes on their lot that need to be fixed
  2. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-2377841/Hackers-hijack-software-CAR-remotely-control-steering-brakes-horn-using-laptop.html Going to be demonstrated at Def Con 21 convention in Las Vega Aug 1 - 3
  3. If the syncmyride forums where still up you would see that the "minority" is a lot more then you think. Early builds seem to be the ones that have the most issues, ford changed something on the production line early 2013, my build was July of 2012, it was the 717th c-max to roll off the assemble line and I took delivery of it 10/2012. There are a few people here that have ongoing problems with the MFT system that seem not to be difficult to resolve.
  4. forklift = yank it out and put a new one in The delay was a lot more then 1 month, more like 5 months - and it was one of the parts replaced on the 2 week stay on my C-Max, along with a lot more of the MFT system. Seems like the only factory installed part of the sync system left on the car after that period was the screen. The PCM error was discussed starting around February or so. I wish they had migrated the old syncmyride.com forums, there was a huge thread on it there, unfortunately they decided not to include community forums on the new site. There is a thread that was start back in April here called 3.5.1......Anyone? Anyone. They rolled 3.5.1 out in new vehicles built on and after 02/21/2013, so they had an updated pcm back then.3.5.1 was promised before the end of first quarter. it was finally available to early adopters in May. They finally got mine working within acceptable limits by forklifting almost the entire infrastructure that comprises the MFT system
  5. If the pcm was the reason, they could have forklifted all the early purchasers with the version that was shipping in the C-Maxes that where being delivered with 3.5.1 already installed, there was no excuse to delay it whne they already had the fix in place and selling cars that already had the update. They had my c-max for close to 2 weeks and ended up forklifting almost the entire system (including the pcm) to get it to function correctly. I have very little confidence in FMC's ability to handle software upgrades, but I have also volunteered the c-max for the test bed at my dealer for the fuel efficiency upgrade next month, really sick of averaging 34-36 mpg when they claim hire. Given that 95 percent of my driving is on the highway with the cruise set at 60 mph in temperatures averaging 90 degrees. To stop a comment - it is not my driving habits was able to average around 26-26 mpg on my previous vehicle - a ford escape gas on the same drive
  6. If true to form with 3.5.1, 3.6 comes out Aug 2013, C-Max users will see it around May 2014, sorry will believe it when I see it running on the car. Suspect that it is different then the fuel efficiency update though
  7. Know Dr. Who quite well, just never had much of a urge to watch after William Hartnell left. An Unearthly Child is still my favorite episode, must have watched 1000 times over the years I will be first in line at the dealer for the enhancements, hopefully will get better mpg then what I average now. Already talked to the service manager and volunteered to be first
  8. Interesting, was not what I was told in orientation, but as far as the fines go it is at the local level, the township here just boosted the fine to 500.00 for parking lots and they are starting to question the people that have the mirror tags that pop into the spots
  9. Stopped at the dealer yesterday to see if they had more information, service manager looked it up but had no link to see what parts are needed nor how long it will take. He did confirm that all (SE & SEL) C-Max's in their inventory with out the glass roof are marked unavailable for sale or delivery. Not sure if the dealer did it or it came down from ford
  10. If I recall correctly that one is at the federal level - the American Disabilities Act, the fines are set at the local level
  11. To enforce, there is a need for a ordinance, 99 percent of the time the signs are put up with no ordinance in place to enforce it. For example there is a pizza place here that has a common parking lot, they put up signs that state parking was for their customers only, it cannot be enforced
  12. 1969 Dodge Daytona Charger with the 426 Hemi. God I wish I still had that car, was one of only 503 made that year and only 70 of those had the Hemi. Bright red with a white stripe on the back. Man did I get in trouble with that car:)
  13. Like - MFT Dislike - 7,590.0 miles @ 34.211 MPG / 95 percent highway on crusie
  14. It is on the checkbook system here - especially if you are hooked on a Friday evening - the tow lot is not open to the public for pick up on Saturday, Sunday, or holidays
  15. unless the township has a ordinance that allows enforcement there is nothing that can be done. Here there are a number of charging stations put there by businesses for their employee's and customers. The city council passed a tow / ticket ordinance that allows for towing the vehicle and a 250.00 parking fine.
  16. I could without a problem, but I do spend the majority of my day in a gas driven car
  17. Since mine was in for an extended stay for a lot of other hardware related issues have had 0 problems with the MFT system, radio, navigation. No restarts, accurate temperature and directions. Gas mileage is still the pits and I have to get it in for a annoying squeak, and the weed whacker sound effects from the A/C but duty and additional work related issues have prevented me from taking it in.
  18. Matter of opinion - IOS has a lot of issues, if it was running IOS with navigation app, it would tell you that your route would run your thrhough London England when you only wanted to find something 10 miles away in LA. MACS are NOT rock solid when it goes to bugs, neither are they hacker/virus proof, check NSA security databases for the solid information
  19. Depends on when you r car was built http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/topic/1496-navigation-gps-fix-tsb-13-3-11-fix-for-unable-to-locate-vehicle-etc/ If it was built after that date then have them replace the module
  20. Has it been back for the tsb and maybe the gps module?
  21. Did you have the TSB applied for the GPS error? What about having the dealer check the GPS module? Both have been indicated as causing the exact same issue that you are describing, either one or both of the proceedures have corrected the problem indicating that the issue has nothing to do with where ever the system is written in. Look at Apple and their "attempt" at writing their own Map / Navigation application - the beta testers that used it to find a local coffee shop still have not been located. I had hardware issue with the system, the dealer corrected those after having the car for over 2 weeks while waiting for parts - since I have received the car back MFT has been rock solid, no reboots, no off the road navigation issues, absolutely nothing, but the dealer also applied both the TSB and replaced the GPS module.
  22. Mr Fluffykins - hey the 6 yr old named him. the driveway has this sign on it
  23. Decided to enhance the alarm system on the C-MAX have had a number of car break-ins in my neighborhood, biggest problem is lack of passenger space now In a weird mood tonight, trying humor to break me out of it
  24. Use a iPhone 5 with ATT, have noticed one thing lately in hot weather, the display will show Connecting for a period of time and appear not to work, but if you go to another screen like the Hybrid display then back, the phone shows as connected and I can use the commands
  25. Think I need therapy after visualizing this /grin
