  1. I've been looking for this model online, but they're currently out of stock and there's on the Grand C-Max available.
  2. Sold it to Carvana. After many weeks on Autotrader, and many weeks of dealing with scammers, I found someone who was interested but he messaged me two days before I was due to leave the country. Between looking after the kids, and packing up our life, I couldn't find time to fit in a test drive, mechanic's inspection, etc. Carvana paid more than any other online or retail outlet ($7.2k), and then sold it 1.5 months later for $13k.
  3. It's with great sadness that we're listing our C-Max for sale. We bought the car in 2020 during the pandemic, and it has served us well. It's taken the kids to school, to the supermarket, and many more exciting adventures well beyond Jersey City where we live. We're moving overseas, so the car can't come with us. If we weren't moving so far away, we'd be keeping the C-Max until its dying days. It's spacious, fun to drive, and perfectly sized for city life. It has custom fitted Husky floor liners for both rows, a 3D printed liner for the trunk floor, custom fit windscreen shield, tinted rear windows, and a Sync 3 infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support. Message me if you're interested.
  4. Take it a Ford dealership, and get them to replace the 12V battery. That's what is dead or dying. Your high voltage battery -- the one that powers the electric motor -- is all good.
  5. Try to find a second hand replacement from a scrap yard via car-part.com. It should make it much more affordable.
  6. What mods are you thinking of making?
  7. I had this happen a few years ago. It was a hardware problem. Had to replace the camera. Bought a third party compatible replacement off Amazon, and installed it myself. Took a few hours because I have two left hands (as it were).
  8. I had the same problem with my 2014 with my reversing camera. I bought a replacement off Amazon for $138. You can enter your car's model year into the site, and it will confirm if the camera or whatever item suits your car. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07KL82NVB/ I then installed the camera myself. There are instructions and videos on how to do it online. It took me about 3-4 hours, but I have two left hands, essentially.
  9. Yeah, I find that the door handle sensors fail in below freezing temps, but they start working a day or two after temperatures climb back above freezing.
  10. I can't speak to your specific issue (I had the larger touchscreen, not the Sync 4"), but if you want to replace your headunit I would recommend going to car-part.com, and searching for TV screen for a C-Max or Escape within the same generation as our car.
  11. Congratulations on the Mach-E. Have you taken delivery of it? And now that Ford is gaining access to Tesla's Supercharger network, it should be road trips less of a hassle.
  12. Yeah, I'm sure you could go 10 miles (16km) on a 1.4kWh battery. The best I've managed is just a tick over a mile in my Hybrid, and most of that was downhill and below 35mph. You might want to physically inspect the battery itself. It might have some plaque or label indicating its capacity.
  13. Saw some forum posts about this Roadtop system on another Ford forum. I think the on-screen functionality is fine, but the sound quality from the connected Android phone or iPhone is rubbish because it's going through Roadtop system and the AV inputs.
  14. Do you have a recording of the noise? Or can you describe it?
  15. They're pretty rare at the moment because both the Solterra and bZ4X have been recalled twice for wheels that might fall off.
  16. That GTI (in fact most Golfs and Polos of that age) had wonderfully sharp and precise steering. They just felt so wonderfully agile, even if there was a sluggish diesel under the hood.
  17. No, that seems to be a fairly typical trait of Mercedes of that era. From memory the C- and E-Classes of that ilk were like that too.
  18. I love the steering in this era of Euro-developed Fords. I wish they were a little chattier, but barely anything from any brand in this era is. They're just well weighted, heavy enough without needing build your biceps, just enough feel, and stable at highway speeds so that a slight motion off center doesn't send you careening towards the next lane.
  19. NYer here. The Hybrid will have its best fuel economy in the spring and fall when you're not running the climate control. Mileage goes down a bit in summer because we need it to keep from sweating, goes down a lot in winter because, obviously, I don't want to turn into a Popsicle. The heater uses engine warmth to blast heat into the cabin, so the gas engine turns to stay on a lot to stay warm enough to do that. That said, even at its worst, the fuel economy is still better than you would get in an equivalent, say, Focus. Mileage won't be too bad if you're mainly do suburban driving with decent but not excessive speed. Economy is worst in the city (where I live).
  20. Congrats (belated) on your purchase. Did you sell the SUV and Fit? And how many miles are the C-Max and Model Y doing?
  21. You'll have to do a Sync 2 to Sync 3 swap. As Homestead mentioned youll have to watch some videos to see how to remove the dash pieces and install the equipment.
  22. Congratulations! You've purchased a great and largely unheralded car.
  23. Did you buy your C-Max used or new? I bought mine used, and I only had a physical key in one of my two key fobs. I now only take that one with me, and just have the other one as a backup.
  24. I'm thinking of RockAuto kit that Nogoodbum installed on their C-Max in the next month or so, and replacing the camera on my car. I'll try to video the whole thing, so you can see what it entails...
  25. Triv, I'm sorry this happened to you. That's an awful experience to go through. Have you tried contacting the Better Business Bureau, or maybe letting the dealership know you've contact a lawyer about this? This should really be on them for not performing the warranty repairs satisfactorily. They stuffed up by not doing a proper job and cutting corners. It's their problem to fix at their expense, not yours.
