Interesting information on the High Voltage Battery
ScubaDadMiami replied to HannahWCU's topic in Batteries
If you had activated Hill Assist, you would have heard ICE dry firing after the battery is fully topped off. It's really freaky the first time that ICE is on without using gas! -
Ugh, sorry. That was what I would have suggested, too. By any chance, did the problem happen after you added the injector cleaner? I had a similar problem when the dirt that the cleaner removes caused a blockage and tripped off the check engine light. I just shot some cleaner into the throttle body intake, which cleaned it out, got the light reset, and that was that.

Ready made CMax rear spoiler
ScubaDadMiami replied to mtb9153's topic in Accessories & Modifications
I never would have thought of that location for placement. I would think that extending roofline would be the way to go. I wonder whether that placement does anything to improve fuel economy. Even if it doesn't, if that location serves to improve the dirt suction to the rear, I'd do that in a second. -
Best Engine RPM for minimal FE loss.
ScubaDadMiami replied to John Sparks's topic in Hybrid Driving Tips & Tricks
I took some video of this yesterday. Normally, I never have the main screen showing the vehicle. (I usually either just leave MFT on the Home screen, or I change it to show Map). So, I never saw the changes on the main screen until then. The screen shows three states: Charging Battery, Hybrid Drive and Electric Drive. During Hybrid Drive, on the Empower screen, you can see ICE/EV both on in the bar graph, and you can see the battery switching back and forth between ^ and - (I can't find an arrow down key on my keyboard). You can also see that the instant MPG graph is moving between about 45-57 MPG, depending upon the split between positive and negative arrows on the battery. I am guessing that we can't load video to this site, and I have never loaded video onto the Internet. So, if somebody wants to tell me a non-laborious method to do so, I'll give it a try, if anybody is interested in seeing the clip. The quality is not the greatest, and unless I can find a way to rotate the frame (because I had to hold the phone sideways to take the video), you'll get a little bit of a stiff neck checking it out. Nonetheless, it shows the whole story.- 99 replies

Can we change the mft home screen?
ScubaDadMiami replied to 666's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
Here's another vote for making it so that MFT starts up on the last screen selected. So, if I have Map showing, instead of going to the home screen, the next time I start my C-MAX, it goes back to the Map. -
C-MAX Fuel Mileage. What are you getting?

Not my best, but still going strong. -
MFT & Alternate Android Messengers
ScubaDadMiami replied to ScubaDadMiami's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
And several more today. So, I am now going to conclude that, at least for myself, the Android OS update caused the need for a one-time delete and re-pair. No issues before, and no issues after. -
If it is possible, especially if it is not difficult or costly to upgrade, I would imagine that the positive buzz that Ford would get would be a big plus.

Ford dropping Microsoft Auto in favor of QNX
ScubaDadMiami replied to valkraider's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
It sure sounds like that's what it means. The article is unclear about the context of the Edge and Flex. However, reading the entire (but short) article, I am guessing that the writer is referencing a prior test of Edge and Flex with MFT, not that the updates to the new OS will only be available on those two vehicles. The article's title and everything leading up to the Edge and Flex reference are not vehicle specific. Everything works fine in my C-MAX, but it sure would be great to be able to get all OS and other updates and upgrades possible. I'm on board! -

Will the fog light attachment point be the only one, or will there be some kind of wrap around the existing structure that you will also secure under? I've never done anything like you are about to attempt, but try to get advice on working with the gelcoat. If you take your time with that, I imagine that it will be a great success! :victory: Once you finish with the front, I'd sure like to see the same kind of thing for the spoiler in the rear. Here's wishing you success and a great future cottage industry. :hat_tip:

I hope that this works for you. After I deleted from both my phone and Synch, things have been working since re-pairing. I got another text today. -
C-Max "Tuned as" Series Hybrid?
ScubaDadMiami replied to themacguy's topic in Hybrid Driving Tips & Tricks
It sounds to me like what you want is an ICE High kind of thing for all highway driving in the flats. You are looking for ICE to stay running while drawing the least amount of fuel while also keeping the battery at a constant state of charge. You were mentioning hills. One thing that you can do on not-too-long and not-too-steep uphills is to arrive at the start of the hill at your maximum speed, and then maintain EV at the most you can draw from the HVB while slowly losing speed. -
We know what you mean! Welcome to the Forum.

Does our car really NOT HAVE a "Low Washer Fluid" indicator?
ScubaDadMiami replied to CarpeNivem's topic in Interior
Honestly, this is the kind of thing I never even bothered to consider in looking for a new car, because it would never occur to me that any car on the market does not have one. Duh! -
For pricing within $1,000, I'd wait. Tell them to tempt you with a low enough price and extras to make you do the 2013, and see what you get. I love my 2013. So, I'd have no qualms about getting that . . . for the right price.

Voice command for Entertainment screen?
ScubaDadMiami replied to CAcreeks's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
Hmmm, I have never tried that one. For Nav, I often use the "Show Map" command. Maybe "Show Entertainment" would work. Just a guess, but it follows the same logic. BTW, I often use commands like "Bluetooth Audio," then "Play." So, you don't necessarily need to show the full Entertainment Screen to be able to play music or listen to the radio or Sirius. -
Ford dropping Microsoft Auto in favor of QNX
ScubaDadMiami replied to valkraider's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
I wonder how long all of this will take. My last car was ten years old when I bought the C-MAX, but that was a record breaker for me. I see myself holding this C-MAX for about five years, or until there is something so new and so much better that it would compel me to do the deed. So, if it actually ends out taking three to five years to see it in vehicles, I am not going to sweat it. Even if it takes almost that long, that means that there will be support for our version. -

Ford dropping Microsoft Auto in favor of QNX

Does it control and do all of the things that MFT does? -
+1 on both counts. I did have some rebooting issues (but only after shutting down, never while driving) before the last update, but everything has been 100 percent since then. Recently, I had to re-pair after an Android update that was making it so that MFT didn't work with text messages, but that seems to have been resolved since re-pairing.
