  1. I am going to guess--this is just a guess--that it is proprietary.
  2. Welcome aboard! Since you mentioned it, and in an abundance of caution, I recall reading that you should not get the Panoramic Roof tinted. When you mentioned the roof and tinting in the same post, I couldn't tell if you meant tinting just the other windows, or if you meant all plus the Pano Roof. Enjoy your new C-MAX!
  3. I just saw (didn't really catch it all) that new commercial for the C-MAX. From what I saw, I liked it. I never liked that poetry cartoon commercial. It's not that I hated it; it's just that you don't need gimmicks for such a great car, and they never discussed more than the fact that the C-MAX holds five, is a hybrid, and gets great fuel economy.
  4. My ride is pretty smooth. I don't feel a sudden grab just before stop.
  5. Boooooooooooooooooooo! They went and built me up just to tear me down! :rant2:
  6. A cousin of mine (whom I have never met, but found in my online search for family members--another story) said (in a Facebook chat) that another distant relative (that I have also never met) was looking at a C-MAX, and wanted to know what I thought about it. After I told her, which was about a week ago, I just heard back from her today, and she said that he got it! Naturally, I told her to tell him to sign up for the Forum. So Ron, if you have signed up, let us know! :congrats:
  7. On my 2,000 mile trip to NC and back, I came up with a rule of thumb of: 80MPH=35MPG, 75MPH=40MPG, 70MPH=43-45MPG, 65MPH=45-47MPG.
  8. Well, you certainly started a great thread, on a new method.
  9. That's exactly how it is working out for me in terms of FE. I just never checked the tachometer. There are times where I can certainly hear a lower ICE RPM or a higher one at the same level of bar. However, it is not predictable enough for me to develop the touch to repeat it. I have only experienced this since 13B07. I'll have to play around with this during air conditioner season to see if it will require 2 bars to get the power needed that I can get with 1.75. That could change things.
  10. Was I supposed to get back about something? :waiting:
  11. I don't have the graphics knowledge to do it up, but here is the pic for ScubaDadMiami's MPG MAX. It's from my trip to North Carolina. Will this work?
  12. Ford would do well to put the equivalent of a training simulator in the showroom. Give it a video game theme, and watch it sell itself. They should also add some videos about driving techniques to all of the great videos that they have online. Ford also needs to train salespeople in a big way. I am willing to bet that many :airquote: professionals :airquote: in the biz don't know enough about hybrids to effectively sell them. (The first place that I tested the C-MAX made it sound like hybrids are the latest fad, and that they don't make sense unless you pay a big premium up front, and then wait for a long payback. Who would want to buy a car like that? ) To most of them, it is yet another product to learn, and they would rather just push something that doesn't require learning anything new. They don't understand the investment and payback that comes from it.
  13. If this is what I think it is, this is really big, big news. I never understood why those who paid extra for the upgraded system were penalized by not having AppLink. This didn't make sense to me. (I figured that it was an attempt to force people to get Sirius, trying to keep smartphones with only minimal music streaming capabilities.) Also, I never understood why Ford would want to put so much money into aspects of MFT that are not Ford's specialty, when smartphones already easily can handle these functions. I even commented on other threads that the trend was towards letting the car's system be more of a dumb terminal that allows users to control everything through their smartphones. To see that Ford will be correcting the previous decision not to install AppLink on vehicles already on the street shows yet another strong move to support the customer after the sale. It also shows that Ford has been listening to improvement suggestions. I am guessing that with AppLink, issues of seeing album art when streaming from Spotify will finally be over. Yes! :yahoo: I wonder how long it will be until this actually comes to pass. Maybe we will be lucky enough that it can be driver installed!
  14. I got the 125,000 mile warranty for both the C-MAX and tires. Since this was a new car on the market, I figured that I would be safer by getting this extra insurance.
  15. Maybe for a spare. Let us know how much you want.
  16. I ordered, and it took about eight weeks for delivery. It was hard to wait, but I am glad that I waited to get everything just the way that I want it.
  17. I checked my receipt. The organizer is $14.99 minus a rebate of $3. Not sure how long the rebate will be in place, in case anyone is taking time to make the decision on this organizer.
  18. You'll have the warranty on the batteries. I wouldn't make that the deciding factor.
  19. I just scored a couple of these collapsible cargo organizers from Costco. I think that they were about $12 each. When full, they really hold a lot, but they still fit in the C-MAX with rear seats in the up position. They collapse down to next to nothing, and they weigh next to nothing when empty.
  20. I love the Panoramic Roof. It makes the interior seem even bigger. Black is both good a bad. It's not great in the hot sun that I have, which should not be a problem for you. Black looks really sharp when clean, but it is a color that shows dirt the worst. I'd still go with the Roof.
  21. The CVT change could yield some nice results. Maybe they are shooting for the old 47/47/47.
