  1. Knowing nothing about the subject, I don't know what this means. Are there two HID pairs in the C-MAX, or can they be easily added during the job? Are you saying that you don't have both high and low beams? That would be a deal killer for me, I think.
  2. Maybe you can post a step by step on this, with pics. Do the bulbs still allow both low and high beam operation?
  3. There are the two trip counters, which you can reset at any time, and which you see by scrolling with the left steering wheel button. Some use one counter for trips, resetting after the trip is complete, and the second for the tank, which you would reset at each fill up with fuel. Note that a "trip" can have several stops (you stop for a coffee break on a long trip). To avoid confusion, there are also numbers that the C-MAX tracks automatically. This is from start up to shut down, and lifetime. You will see these flash on your left screen when you shut down the vehicle. (If you want to see them again, just depress the start button without putting your foot on the brake pedal. This puts the C-MAX in accessory mode, not starting the engine. Scroll up or down to go between last start to shut down, or Lifetime. Shut off by pushing the start button again.) Hope this helps. Don't worry, you won't break anything by resetting the trip counters for trips one and two.
  4. You can see my lifetime number at the bottom of my posts. It was almost 49 MPG, but I went on a long highway trip, which knocked it down a bit. You will be very happy with your choice. If you can go for it, get the Panoramic Roof. It makes the interior look even bigger. Costly, I know, but I am happy with the selection.
  5. Get rid of that dead pedal, and free up some leg room for drivers. If it has to be there, put it on the passenger side.Improve the sun visor. It should cover the side window to its edge (with a slide out extender, for example), when deployed.Change all lighting to LED. Such a great, high tech car deserves it!Otherwise, and even without these fixes, I still love my C-MAX!
  6. Salsa, since there really aren't many changes in the 2014, I would guess that even early buyers won't have problems.
  7. I think that future battery technology will get to the point where the Hybrid will end out getting Energi performance without taking up the extra battery space of the current model. They'll probably be able to fit a spare tire, too. I would have considered the Energi, but I need the storage space. As it is, coming from a bigger SUV, I make the C-MAX Hybrid work, but it can take some figuring with a full load.
  8. I have the same problem. The only way to do it is to create an album, which gets to be cumbersome for simple one off pics.
  9. Welcome aboard! You will be among the first to get the 2014. We can't wait to see it!
  10. Put me down for another vote about the weak visors. I can't stand the gap when the visor is turned to block the side window.
  11. Are you happy with the black contrasted against the White Platinum? I have Oxford White, and there is a big jump in price for the matching color. I really wasn't looking for them to stand out, but it looks okay in your pics. Would you post a pic or two showing your C-MAX from enough distance to see?
  12. I was wondering about that. After seeing your earlier post about this, I took a closer look at the hood, and it looks like there really isn't much of a gap between the edges and the C-MAX body. So, I didn't see that this would amount to much. On the other hand, since Ford is apparently going to make a change for 2014, I figured that the small gap must make some kind of difference. At this point, I am going to wait for the 2014 model vehicle to come out, and then I will look at modding to replicate those changes. This is also why I haven't yet jumped on the Gas Pod bandwagon.
  13. Why does Ford spec the tire pressure as it does, when they could just have upped it to help with fuel economy? There must be some reason behind this decision.
  14. Pro Clips are the tops. My C-MAX is probably my third car that has used them. Solid. Never a failure.
  15. I considered this when I got my C-MAX. I never did anything, since I can open the door just by having the fob with me. My original thought concerned opening the door when I wouldn't have the fob, but that concern really never comes to pass very often. I just hope that I don't lose the fob when on a trip, after locking the door and leaving the C-MAX.
  16. You need to turn off the Auto setting. Most of the time, I have my interior set to 73F, with Recirculate active. The only thing I change is fan speed. I never have a problem with the issue that you mention.
  17. I sure don't recall hearing many complaints about body hardware and the climate control system since becoming a member of this forum. So, it would seem that we would have heard about these things being issues. I wonder if the climate thing is related to the compressor noise, which is certainly not a defect.
  18. By evening rush hour, it was finally a cool enough day (in South Florida) for me to do even a short run without using the air conditioner. I got these results without very much effort, in traffic, and not even in the best section for where I can usually get good fuel economy. I even did a three bar burn going up the bridge. If I lived in a place with moderate temperatures year round, I bet that I could pull some pretty good numbers. I have the pic, but I am getting an error message that says that I have exceeded my allowed space for uploads. So, you will just have to trust me, I guess. :headscratch: Distance: 7.3 miles 6.0 EV 0.6 Regen Fuel Use: 62.6 MPG 0.1 gal Brake Score 98% Vehicle Miles: 6047.6
  19. You'll get the feel for the basics pretty quickly; almost everyone does. Enjoy your C-MAX, and just treat it like a game. Have fun!
  20. The dealer told me that they did it, but I also did a reset before leaving the dealer. I didn't exactly feel confident about it when I finished. I would like a screen to show remaining life.
  21. We can all only take an educated guess, and try to do the right thing. I hope that this car will save money and the environment. I'll give my best efforts to drive efficiently. I feel like we are doing our part by driving the C-MAX.
  22. That lines up with my numbers. I also set the A/C to 73F.
  23. It's still close to 90F during the daytime in Florida. I'll still be using the air conditioner all winter long.
  24. I'd be interested to hear from anyone that is taking the Pods through carwashes. As much as I love my C-MAX, I don't do the washing by hand. I go to a good carwash place, but it is a carwash. As it is, I make sure to take off the antenna before going through the wash. So, I want to know that the Pods will stay on for years with typical conditions.
