  1. Great FE, especially on the first trip, with all of that hilly terrain! :drop:
  2. Thanks, Shelly! Great to have the information before getting it done. Every bit is great data.
  3. Finally had a chance to take a better picture of the CanvasBack. I like this one, where you can see the light coming in from the Panoramic Roof. Notice how the CB covers the entire back of the seat while still allowing the seat to open and close normally. I just love this thing!
  4. Progress! Witnesses! This is it, Adair! :clapping:
  5. Is something on the C-MAX open source? MFT?
  6. Another happy C-MAX owner! :)
  7. I have been using this technique, for the past couple of days. Some things are working for me, and some are not. Miami has pretty bad traffic. However, I usually go out on my route during times that the traffic is not bad. Coming home is usually fairly congested. There are stops for traffic lights throughout the ride. What I have been finding is that I end out stomping for such short periods of time that the SOC does not get enough charge. So, I then end out having to purposely ICE my SOC back up with gentle feathering. No big deal, if it leads to overall better numbers. I am coming to that part. Before I do, let me mention that this attempt has been killing my breaking score! I often end out, even with short stomps, getting up to speed just in time for the light to change in a way that always seems to make me have to get breaking scores ranging from the 70's to 80's, which I never normally do. Otherwise, I am already catching the car in front of me. (Who said the C-MAX has no torque or power? :shift: ) If I go with the gentle feathering on these parts of the trip, I do much better with things like traffic lights and traffic congestion (but not purely bumper to bumper type of traffic). Short trips also get worse FE for me, so far. Conversely, once I get to the part of the road where I can keep moving along, I start to gain FE. I can see where this pays off more for every additional mile traveled. So far, my conclusion is that this will be a useful tool for the right conditions. For slower and congested travel, I am losing ground, at this point. Perhaps things will change as my new C-MAX, with barely 2,000 miles, starts to hit its stride.
  8. I wonder what kind of numbers Cruise Control will have at 65 and 70 mph. It would be nice to be able to set it, sit back, enjoy the ride, and still get great FE.
  9. Given your build date, I'd absolutely go for it. Mine was build end of April. My only issue was the liftgate (not on yours), and the fix worked without any problems. From the early reports, the FE recalibration is not turning out to be a big complication. I have mine scheduled.
  10. My from what I recall, my dealer told me that they would honor whatever the deal was from the time that the order was placed, even if over. (I put a deposit down at time of placing the order.) I also think that I recall other people on this Forum saying that they were told that they would get whichever deal was better, either the one from the time that the C-MAX was ordered, or the deal going on at the time that the vehicle actually arrives.
  11. Would you take a pic of how it looks on the screen? I have been thinking about doing this, but I didn't want to potentially add a problem to MFT. There are a bunch of them already loaded onto another web site. Many of them look so good.
  12. It's a computer on wheels.
  13. If your phone pairs but loses the connection, try getting Bluetooth KeepAlive from the Play store.
  14. Even an Android guy like myself can be happy for these improvements. Let's hope that all of the OSs out there get into the race to make these systems work better for all users.
  15. Lots of errands yesterday. One stop was for picking up about 50 pounds of Slowpoke's special vegan dog food, and another big box with a new sound system for my home (replacing one that got fried from a power surge, I suspect). I brought the items out in a hand-cart, kicked the get open, and was able to easily slide the boxes in, thanks to my newly installed Canvasback cargo cover. It is now a week since having the liftgate update performed. 100 percent track record . . . so far.
  16. With service like this, I may also be in, once you work out the final locations. Pretty cool! Question: If someone already knows where to place them on the car, why would someone opt for the magnetic style? Is it for removal for going through carwashes?
  17. Phil, I think a bunch of people, including myself, have written the same post. I wanted a loaded equivalent of the 303A but without leather. They need to come up with some regional packages (like factory tint, no leather, etc.) for places where it gets hot, or whatever would be a big seller in that area.
  18. I saw mixed results today. However, I didn't drive my usual route at the usual time. It was more like a test under varied conditions. I actually lost some mpg today. For fairly heavy traffic, it seemed that the stomp to two bars, even if very brief, was less efficient than gentle feathering and gliding. However, once you reach areas where you can glide for longer stretches, you come out ahead with the stomp and glide. Secondly, it seems that the stomp and glide is like a longer term investment that yields higher returns but costs a little more in the early stages. By that, I mean that I get worse FE on short trip than I do by gentle feathering. However, after a certain distance of travel, I am back to even with where I would be with gentle feathering. After that, it is bonus FE by using stomp and glide. Using two bars, I went up some of the steepest bridges in my area, and this was at 45 to 55 mph zones. What a fun ride, even if it costs a squirt or two of gas. :woot: I ended out getting caught in peak rush hour, with bumper to bumper traffic, too. There was nothing I could do. Too many errands to run. I tried to rationalize that I was testing for this driving condition, but even in the C-MAX, that part was not so much fun.
  19. Welcome aboard! Make sure to check very carefully about what each package has. People have made mistakes, such as thinking that the power liftgate is the same thing as the kick-open option, and many other little things like that. In a number of instances, things like upgrading the sound system aftermarket ended out costing a lot more, with not-so-great results. Also, some packages force you to get something you don't care about in order to get something that you really want. Good luck with finding your MAX. I ended out ordering, and it took eight weeks to arrive. I hope you find yours quickly!
  20. Wow, this car has a lot of torque when you are at two bars. That's why I was wondering.
