Find it in MyView setup, I think.

I 2-bar the hill, usually, but I get a fairly long burn to get to 35, then have little time before I drop to 25 again (short glide phase). I certainly spend more time pulsing in ICE then I get gliding with EV. I was not aware of the experiment. I can do the test today, I have a nearly flat area to try it on. Can post the SBS later tonight. Can you link me to the thread for the experiment? About the cars power. First thing I did when I test drove this car, was floor it from 0-70 on the 55mph road in front of the dealer. I know this car has the power when needed, hehehe. Since I have owned it, I have done nothing of the sort

1 mile length, elevation change +140' (per Google Earth) 25 mph road, fairly consistent rate of incline, only 2-3 "flat tops" in the hill climb.
-
Hey Jus, What are your suggestions for "punch" when you have a long uphill. Most of my ride home has some minor incline grades, but last for .25-.75 miles at a time.

Doesn't seem to have made much difference in the City Driving scenario. I am sure the effects on Highway-heavy trips would be much more significant.

Very interesting...

Great thread, TY.

I am not going to happy hour today, but I will drive to the restaurant, kill the engine, start again and drive the rest of the way home, so we can have a SBS comparison.
-
Great idea :) I can do the "work, lunch, happy hour, home" cycle. I know I have a previously saved day with just those stops. I can line them up against today's data.

The battery run down, I thought, was a good thing. I see it as EV assisted warm up for the ICE.

Yes. Happened leaving work yesterday and again this morning.

So far, nothing much has changed in the short trip category. Looking for more miles per trip in the upcoming days. Anyway, here are the rest of my trips from yesterday (it was a errand full afternoon, lol):

LOVE the after picture

The upper grill will be re-dipped soon, as I had a texture issue in a spot. It will later be a Ravens logo in the Ford oval (front and rear). Plasti-dip so so easy to use. Nothing like painting at all. Just tape off your area like normal, including blocking behind the openings. Allow a generous 3-4 inches of over spray. Spray your surface, as directed in many youtube videos. No matter how many coats the video says, I recommend at least 5 coats. This will give you the ability to peel a nice thick layer away from the car.

So, your service ticket showed the same info as mine, but it doesn't seem to have taken to the car? I would wonder about the legitimacy of my dealer's service department, if that was the case.

I think there are just way too many electrical components for us non-engineers to fully understand. So many things in this car are tied to SYNC, the hybrid powertrain, the clusters, etc. Each one of these systems are very complex, leaving us to wonder about these odd occurrences. Seeing as the PCM controlled all those things in the update (and I am sure more), it is not too surprising that weird things like this happen. It is odd to me that the 1 part of the lifetime summary would be effected and not another, but hey, what do I know, lol.

I have almost never used my climate control system and don't plan to unless absolutely necessary, lol. Used the defroster for a few seconds at a time during rain, but that is about it. I didn't have the speed limit to test it either, I just did whatever speed I felt like to test it out. It was very easy to see the difference when I was doing 70 on eco-cruise, then cancelled CC. Before, it would flat-line the Kw on ICE on anything over 62-63. I saw it go to EV while still at 66 going on a mild uphill with no acceleration. I look forward to your feedback. Seems like your trip will be a much better example of the difference on the highway.
-
I agree completely, which is why I am not trying to speculate as to what the end results will be. I am hopefully, providing user feedback, at best. Every car is different, like anything else that is mass produced. Your data will certainly help back up, or refute Ford's claims about the update. I am just spit-balling what I have experienced so far.

Mine does not show that on the status and I absolutely was in EV mode coasting at 70+ mph. Does your service ticket indicate the service was for "RECALL 13B07"?
-
I can't confirm that, as I have no monitoring software. Based on what I have seen so far, my guess is that all ICE usage mpg will drop to some extent, due to the increased use of EV. If we are spending more time in EV while coasting, then most of the ICE miles are going to be pure acceleration miles, speed pending. All those glide phases that were under ICE, should now be EV miles. Does that make sense?
-
Lunch drive: Here is something very interesting, the update seems to have reset all my regen miles from my lifetime summary?!?! The update also seems to have erased my stored EV+ locations, so I will need to set those again, too.
-
I am glad someone can take the guessing out of this, I know I can't do what you can via OBDII.

I was driving on a 55 mph road, not a highway, and ran the car up and down through the 55-75 range to see how it behaved. It does not seem to do that. Whenever I hit the gas, no matter how gentle or for how long, I think I was in ICE only. However, as soon as I let off the gas, EV kicked in instantly. I can't say it wouldn't use the combo, if the battery was charged enough, but my battery never went higher than about 60%, so I am not sure. It seems to me that they simply raised the EV limit so that we could coast with ICE off at highway speeds. I don't drive a lot of highway miles as part of my usual commute, but I think I may try this, just once, to try to answer that question for you.
