  1. I was only going by the site's description at the time. I have only seen under my hood about 4 times in 3k miles, lol.
  2. Sweet tank. I am hoping for a similar one right now, as my goal of 700 got shot down after a road trip with a full vehicle.
  3. YES! to scenario #1. Had a cold start with low battery to begin with. Uphill?!?!? You bet ;) . Google Earth shows the Elevations to be: (A) restaurant is 144' above sea level (B) my home is 252' above sea level This leaves the elevation change at +108' AND this was over a very short 1.5 mile period. Did not have I never accelerated over 2 bars, and maximized my EV the best I could to take care of the hilly and high Kw sucking EV+ zone at home.
  4. Ditto. I have a 10 year/ 100k warranty on the hybrid system and everything connected to it. Hoping that once the system dies (again hoping for close to 80-100k), that they replace it and I get another one good for an additional 65+k miles after that. Worst case scenario, I am with Jus.
  5. Here is my entire driving day yesterday, including the Trip 2 reset (missing only .1 miles bc I forgot). from Home to Work from Work to Autozone (with a small detour to kill time during lunch) from Autozone to Work from Work to Restaurant from Restaurant to Home 2013-07-08 - Trip 2:
  6. Thanks! No, wasn't using Trip 2 for anything at all. I will start tomorrow with that and see how it goes. MTE was estimating 700+ miles at time of fill up. I am hopeful I can make 700 this tank, but, I have another long run to Cecil County and back tonight. Will be adding plenty of miles in the process. If it goes well, I will be posting again in the over 25 miles thread again ;)
  7. This is pretty consistent for my lunch time drives: This is my trip to work every morning (always same route and mpg's): Since these are so typical for me, I probably won't post any more pics unless I get something really high up there.
  8. My run on Route 1 from Cecil County, MD to Northeast Baltimore City, MD. Temp, 86 degrees and High Humidity. NO Eco-cruise. Speed Limits varied 35-50mph going in and out of townships, although most of the time the Speed Limit was 50. I tend to do about 3-5mph over the limit most days.
  9. My contribution: Lunch ride to get away from the office for a few (30) minutes. From office, the very longest way possible to Office Depot: Next was ride from OD to my bank. That was 36.6 mpg's because I had to accelerate in with traffic to 55 mph for about 1.5 miles (semi-uphill) to get to my bank. Ride from my bank to my office: High mpg "short" trips are easy for me and a large part of my 90% city driving. Knowing the topography of the world you drive on helps a lot, too. I get 80+ mpg's EVERYTIME I drive home from my friends house. Almost all downhill (or rolling hills), few lights, minimal traffic, and using P&G in EV mode to maximize those little hills for speed. It is a 15-20 minute ride on surface streets, not sure of the total miles. If I get less that 80, I wonder why, lol. I will take a pic of that trip next time I head over his way.
  10. Now that it is getting warmer all over the country, everyone should be hitting 600 miles, if you drive responsibly. I used 13.1 gallons at the pump to get my 600+. I was only just barely over the 600, but I am not serious enough about hypermiling as others are. I don't carry around a gas can for the last 50 miles, I stop before the line on the dash hits E. It can be red and not bother me around the city. However, if I knew it would be a few miles before the next station, I would refill even sooner. I have no doubt that if I stop letting my wife drive the car, I would be able to hit the 700 mark during the summer without trying all that hard. Now, 800+, that's a pretty high bar for what we have seen so far out of these cars. That is some skill and preparation, which is fun, just doesn't fit in my schedule. Note about the wife...Do you realize how hard it is to keep your wife from driving your car for 600+ miles (or about a month of my driving) :banghead: :censored:
  11. Have not logged a very high amount of total miles (as you can see), but I made my first 600+ tank . 90%/10% (city/hwy).

  13. ~Plasti-Dip Stage 2: Badges (removed SE badge) - 05/28/2013 To remove any badges on our cars, I believe I have found the fastest way to date. 1) Heat badge with a blow dryer on high for 1 minute 2) Use fishing line (higher tensile strength than floss), and slide between badge and car to separate badge from vehicle 3) Use your thumb to remove any adhesive that will roll, or ball up, easily 4) Use Turtle Wax Label & Sticker Remover, Completely soak the remaining adhesive for 1 minute 5) Wipe Clean with clean microfiber towel 6) I didn't have to, but repeat 4 & 5 until all adhesive is removed 7) Apply any spray wax or quick detailer over the area that had the Turtle Wax on it, to ensure all residue is removed
  14. UPDATE: USB seems to be working after the warranty covered Dealer repair. Their car wash peeled back the Plasti-dip on the outer chrome of the middle grill (stupid brush washes). I showed the service manager what happened and told him to mark my VIN for NO DEALER CAR WASHES lol. I will be recovering the outer grill chrome, as well as finishing the emblems this week. As usual, pics to follow ;)
  15. This may just be me griping a bit, but I had to re-dip somethings I sprayed when I did my grills (not all things dipped were shown). FWIW, take your time on badges with the dip, lmao. There are all sorts of things you can do wrong when peeling away the dip, if you are not experienced. I re-dipped the door HYBRID's, but it did not go so well. It is passable from a distance, but up close, not so much. I am going to peel them clean, prep the area and dip them again. still waiting on dealer for USB...
  16. Thanks for the comments, they are always appreciated. Chrome used to be a hot topic on tuner boards. Truthfully, it really comes down to taste. Some people love chrome for all it's beauty. Others, think that some chrome is nice, but only when used in moderation. Me, I like no chrome because inevitably it gets damaged due to the fact it is chrome plating and not real chrome. While I enjoy the sparkle when it is clean, to me it detracts (or adds) to the shape and "feel" of the cars appearance. With Ford using it so abundantly on the Fiesta. Focus, C-Max, and Fusion, just to name a few, it is sort of common in appearance. I wanted mine to stand out a little bit differently, so I covered mine. Remember, this plast-dip stuff peels off. I can always revert to the original chrome without having any damage. Granted, the grille would be very tedious to peel all the chrome back to visibility, but it can be done. Next on the list: Get USB fixed when part arrives at dealer. Next fun thing to do on the list: Talk to friend about Raven's logos to cover the front and rear Ford badges.
  17. I am probably going to be taking the Plasti-dip pretty far. It is far too inexpensive and easy to work with NOT to tinker with the idea.
  18. Car had it's first real malfunction this week. The USB port is DEAD. The dealer worked with the hotline technicians and they concluded that a module (I believe it was) needed to be replaced. Car goes is again on Tues or Weds for the repair. Sorry about the lack of new pics, it was a pretty soggy day at the game. I will try again tomorrow.
  19. I will be at my son's baseball game tomorrow. If the sun comes out I will surely grab some for ya ;)
  20. Thanks! The oval is temporary. I am a die-hard Raven's fan. One my Subaru's, I covered the oval badges with the Raven's Head Logo. I will be doing the same to the Ford Oval. Like I was saying about the "playing around with it", part of the playing was learning what would cover and how to apply it. I could have taped off the Ford logo, but that would require a different method of applying the product (Camo-dip method). It was easier to not mess with the logo for now. Not to mention I was running out of daylight, lol. YES, it comes in either pint, gallon, or spray cans. I used just over 1 can to do 4 coats on both grills. I got mine from DipYourCar. They come up in Google.
  21. Thanks! I know what I am doing will not be for everyone. I like to document the changes my cars go through in their respective forums. It gives me a diary and a timeline for things. I will be playing more with the Plasti-dip, maybe with other colors, too. All changes will be posted here :)
  22. ~Plasti-Dip'ed Part 1: Front Grills - 05-17-2013 This was my first experience with Plasti-Dip. All I can say is that this stuff rocks! Easy to use, easy to clean "over-spray", and a quality looking matte finish. I have to redo my badges, so they are not included in this update. I taped off a very large part of the front of the car, but this was because I knew I would over-spray because I don't have a garage to work in and it was breezy today. Before: Taped off, Coat #1: Taped off, Coat #2:]Taped off, Coat #3:Coat #4 (after tape & drape removal):FINAL:Before/ After Combo :)
