My carpeting is also coming undone. I didn't know there was a thread about this. It really needs some kind of molding hold it on. I also will mention it to my dealer next time I am in. I have a pretty long list of things for them to do.

This makes me wonder if doing an occasional power reboot of the car would have reduced the battery drain problems that may have been fixed with the software update.

Update: After re-reading your post I realize a screw would be unlikely, but I will just keep this post. Though I am very interested in the outcome. I hope you find the cause and share it. I had a slow leak on my C-Max that turned out to be a screw that went into the tire and the head of the screw wore off. The first time I checked for leaks I did not notice it and it was not leaking fast enough for substantial bubble action from the soapy water. Also my C-Max tires were filled with pebbles from a gravel parking lot I visit one a week. I ended up picking out the pebbles with needle nose pliers. That's when I encounter the "pebble" that didn't come out. When I put the soapy water on it it did produce a small bubble very infrequently. It was slow enough that for quite a while I thought it was just bad seal at the bead, though it was frustrating, noticing when I checked my tires one tire down bit more than the rest. But after a long trip the tire lost quite a bit of air, though not enough to have a low pressure warning. So a tire in motion may leak more than one sitting still with soapy water on it. Thought I would share that in case it could be useful.

http://www.edmunds.com/car-care/should-you-fill-your-cars-tires-with-nitrogen.html Article that concludes "Based on cost, convenience and actual performance benefit, we don't think nitrogen is worth it. A much better use of your money would be to buy a good tire-pressure gauge and check your tires frequently. This is a good idea even if you have a tire-pressure monitoring system in your vehicle. The warning lights aren't required to come on until you have less than 25 percent of the recommended tire pressure. Having the correct tire pressure will get you many of the benefits of using nitrogen and will ensure that your tires last longer." and it goes into the reasons why. Just to see the other side of the debate, here is an article from what I gather is a manufacturer of nitrogen filling equipment. ( My experience is that it was fear inducing and avoided the understanding of the edmunds article. ) http://www.nitrofill.com/nitrogen-filled-tires-faqs.aspx

So does this mean that I could mess something up if I were to do this ? Thanks.

The one I have is also rated at 400 A. So if I read into this right, taking the battery out of the system takes away something that is using up the jump current. Nice.
-
That worrisome. What mid size battery did you use ? I have one of these http://www.amazon.com/PowerAll-PBJS12000R-Rosso-Portable-Starter/dp/B00D42AFS8/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1410659456&sr=8-3&keywords=jump+starter I was assuming I was protected.

The Lifetime summary can be useful information when buying a car. If the lifetime average is low, the car may not have been a gently used as if it were high. Auto dealers trying to sell a used c-max may not want that on the car. Trying to say it gets good mileage and seeing a low lifetime summary or one that has just be reset would be a red flag. There are other factors too, like sometimes I sit in the car in a parking lot with the heater on and work. I think if they just had more trip meters it would be fine. (By the way, I don't like the menu set up for the trip meters. I think they should be displayed at all times like a physical meter, no matter what the other displays. Perhaps on the efficiency leaves.)

I am curious how much a dealer would charge for this. It seems involving.

On first glance they seem great. I have the Intro-Tech Automotive Ultimate Reflector but find myself not using it that much. Perhaps if I had something like this I would use it more. Do they restrict vision much when closed ? If I hadn't already made my purchase I would do some research on it.

OK I figured it out. I need to unselect all the filters then I get all content. This forum is so powerful that I got the answer just by posting.

I am having a problem with new content. The problem started after was playing around with trying to find my content. I think it may have to do with the filter "Other" These are the only choices Just items I follow Items I participated in Items I started Filter by forum Was expecting something like "All items" I can get new content on the threads I have participated in, but not ones I have not participated in. Was not sure where to post this so I started here. ( I am open to knowing where this topic really belongs. } Hope someone has a good idea that helps to get it working again. Thanks.

If it happens two more times the lemon law applies.

If you stick your head under the dash on the driver's side and use a flashlight, you should see it. I believe I read that there is actually two of them. Not sure where the other is.

Something like this broadcasts the additional info via bluetooth. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Advanced-ELM327-v1-5-Bluetooth-Interface-OBD2-Car-Scanner-Adapter-TORQUE-ANDROID-/130905669470?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1e7a95ff5e or http://www.amazon.com/Bluetooth-Diagnostic-Scanner-Wireless-Android/dp/B0076KBPNI/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1411318725&sr=8-5&keywords=obd Let say you have an android tablet, then you buy the torque app from google play store. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.prowl.torque&hl=en Then you have to set it up some, which can require some knowledge of math or some hand holding. (By the way, I do not use this at this time.)

Basically, torque is an app that runs on tablets that displays car information that is not displayed by the Ford displays. This thread may help: http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/topic/2757-obd2-%E2%80%93-elm-327-%E2%80%93-torque/

I know tirerack mounted and balanced my tire for free when I bought a wheel with it, though that was a while ago. Might want to check out tirerack.com I noticed one steel wheel for $52 and a tire for $71 (not including shipping.) though for a little more can get a kumho or pirelli.

I would think, more volts, greater chance of fire in a crash.

$90k Mercedes S500 Hybrid guilt-trips drivers into better mpg's
obob replied to kostby's topic in Lounge: Off-Topic
I was thinking the eco-cruise could use it, such as be generous with the electrical powering if a big down hill is coming up. Conserve battery if there is a long not steep down hill coming up. Though now that you mention it, it may not save that much, especially for a driver that is versed on how the C-Max works. -

I would think that will be pretty standard in the future for most hybrids. -
I would like to see a picture with it out.

Best Highway Cruising Speed for MPG's
obob replied to stratosurfer's topic in 2013 Ford C-MAX Hybrid
I was curious about drafting and read the first couple pages of this thread. FYI - http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/forums/ubbthreads.php/topics/1152576/2 some quotes from the thread "Mythbusters tested this & found that drafting behind a semi DOES save gas, but they also made a point to say that it should never be done because it's 100% unsafe." "the mythbusters had a dodge magnum if i remember right. At 100 feet they had like a 10% increase" "I was in the trucking business for 42 years retired now but I hated it when a car tailgated me. I found that if I let my trailer drift over onto the shoulder and throw a few stones that got them off of my tail." "Fuel mileage increased by a ton, around 50% or more if I remember correctly, following about 2 feet behind the semi"
