Rachel: Here is the date- "Scheduled to Day (2013-02-12)." I bet that the widow sticker will appear somtime around Wednesday. pkay: In most cases, the dealer can get it off of the visibilty report for the vehicle. Once you have the train car number, you can track it via an 800 number. It was posted earlier (a couple of months ago?) in the "order to delivery time" thread. Have fun!

Rachel: If you have the VIN for Dad's car, I'll see if I can get i can get it checked (like Laurel did for yours). P/M the Vin to me.

I now have 1800 miles on my C-Max, so I did a real fuel calculation. The car gauge showed 46 MPG. When I did the math longhand it came to 44 MPG. Either way, I'm thrilled for that mileage this early. I am in TX, so the temps were above 40 almost all of the time, yet not warm enough to run the A/C. I'm usually driving the freeway in slow and go traffic, so I rarely get up above 60MPH. Overall, looks like a great fit for my needs so far.

Congrats Rachel! I looked for your sticker Tuesday and it wasn't there. Glad that you and Laurel found it yesterday. Don't forget to try to get a railcar number after it ships... It is a lot of fun (and pain) to watch it wind its way to you.

You are absolutely right. This isn't a collector's car. They are selling very well, but are starting to show up on dealers lots. Next week should be a good one for dealing as it is the end of the month and the end of the calendar year. I initially hesitated to post, since some were paying "sticker" for their cars. Here is how the deal shaped up for us (roughly)compaired to the folks that bought at sticker. Saved by making an X-Plan deal= $1500+ Saved because dealer(truly)made an error in the deal and double counted the rebate. He lived up to the commitment he made in his qoute.=$1000 Saved because the dealer gave me a better deal on my trade-in than two other dealers= $1500. Saved because the dealer based my trade-in on him "dealer trading" for my C-Max. He ended up orderning it. He held the price of my car for 90 days. ((30 days trying to trade and 60 to get the car)). Additional depriciation would have been approx $1000. Total Savings over Sticker: Approximately $5000. For those who are detail-oriented, My quote was based on X-Plan. However, the dealer ended up doing it as a non X-Plan deal, since he made the $1000 error. This savings was due to good shopping, good haggling, and good luck. Not all will do this well, but you certainly can do better than saying "I like the Blue One. How much is it?" As I said in another post. Do your research on the new car and your trade-in. Then Haggle, Haggle, Haggle! Even if it isn't your nature. You are not offending dealer and you are saving real cash out of your pocket! The deal isn't done until you've said "NO" at least 3 times! Happy Holidays and Happy Hunting!

Anyone noticed a problem starting in Reverse?
ScooterS replied to CNCGeek's topic in General Discussion
I was nose down. I don't think that hill climb assist has anything to do with it. -
Body Side Mouldings from www.bodysidemouldings.com are on the car and look great! The paint is a perfect match. Make sure that you pull the correct instructions from the link above (Thanks Mike!). I will try to take some pictures if I ever get home before dark!

Anyone noticed a problem starting in Reverse?
ScooterS replied to CNCGeek's topic in General Discussion
Took the car to the dealer today. I think that we are off to a good start. The service writer immediately called the Service Manager. Both expressed sincere concern. We both went to his office and he spent about 15 minutes looking to see if there were any service bulletins "in the system." Finding none he asked if I felt "ok" to keep driving the vehicle. I indicated that I felt ok with it, as long as it didn't happen again. He indicated that he is going to contact their Ford engineering rep to see if he knows of the problem/solution and will call me back soon. He indicated that they could keep the car, but based on my description, probably wouldn't duplicate the problem. Codes wouldn't show unless the check engine light. The indicated that the front trim damage would be repaired as "incidental damage" from the transmission problem. Others... If you are having the problem, please report it to your Ford Dealer. There seem to be a number of people who have had the problem. It is great to talk about it here. However, they need to see a pattern to understand the significance, as well as figure out the cause/fix. That being said, I suspect (hope) that they are monitoring these Boards. Until then, I'd suggest that everyone use caution in parking, so that they aren't on a slant and will immediately drift into a car or other object if the car starts to roll. I will keep you posted as I learn more. -
Well.... It beats the heck out of me. We fiddled with the settings. The dash clock didn't match the Nav Clock. Finally it got set correctly. It then flashed between 2 settings. Eventually we got it set to the right time and It has stayed that way (so far). I'm clueless as to what caused the problem or why the fix worked.

Anyone noticed a problem starting in Reverse?
ScooterS replied to CNCGeek's topic in General Discussion
Welllll.... It happened to me this morning! I had run the car for about 20 minutes and parked in front of a store with a slight downhill angle (nose down). I started the car normally and put it in reverse. I let off of the brake and it rolled forward. I applied the brake, shifted in and out of park and it did it again. I then moved it to Drive and back to Reverse and it backed up. Most unfortunately, the car rolled forward and the underside of the nose scraped on the curb. As I finally got it into reverse, It pulled part of the trim off of the bottom of the front bumper. I'm off to the dealer tomorrow to report the problem and insist that they replace the trim. This is very, very not good! -
Do you have any Regrets in Buying the C-Max
ScooterS replied to NCtoCAgirlie's topic in Buying, Order and Leasing
I regret only being able to drive my car for about 2 hours before leaving town for a week! However, I plan to make up for that over the next few days!! ;) -

ScooterS replied to NCtoCAgirlie's topic in Buying, Order and Leasing
Yes, You can cancel and reorder a new one. I think that you have 30 days to do so. However, you need to check on the timing yourself, YMMV... Don't be bashful. Save some Money! -
In defense of the Dealer, he brought it up on the computer and showed me that it was not there for my vehicle. He suggested that I talk to Ford Customer Service about it. He indicated that he will be happy to process the paperwork, If I can talk them into it. I was out of town this week, but will tackle it in the next few days. I'll keep y'all posted.

Mrs. ScooterS is reporting the same type of problem. She has reset the clock 3 times in the past week. I will investigate over the weekend.

Sorry, "Scooter" [Think Muppets] was a nickname that my College roommate called me many years ago. He passed away several years ago, so I picked it up as my screen name.

Hey guys! Soooo sorry to disappear. I picked up my car Friday and got to drive it for about 2 hours. I then flew out of town for a week. Mrs ScooterS really likes the car. She has been driving it all week. I'm looking forward to getting back home to give it good run myself. So far, it looks like about 39 MPG on the first half of a tank. Sorry to be gone.... Nice for you guys to take the time to check up on me!!

I'm like zhackwyatt. I'm in Austin. It is hot as He!! here in the summer. I don't need the light, I need the ventillation. Although I've had a roof in every one of my cars over the past couple of decades, I decided against it for this one. I couldn't see spendng $1200 for an immovable piece of plastic. If I lived in a cooler "Grayer" area, I might go for it.

Sorry to "take delivery and run." My C-Max arrived last Friday. I had a whole 2-hours of drive time with it and then left town for a week (aarrgghh!). Mrs. ScooterS has been driving it for the past week and says that she really likes it.... Believe me, that is a compliment! She is very picky about her cars. Anyhow, I have a picture, but for the life of me, I can't figure out how to create a gallery to upload it. I will follow with more information after I get to drive my car!

I brought my "private offer" in to the dealer the day after I received it.... Which was the day that I picked up the C-Max. Despite what the brochure said, the dealer said that the rebate was not allowed on the c-max. I'll be contacting Ford Customer Service in the next few days...

Strange.... I'm betting that they didn't order the car for you. I suspect that it was one of the initial ones that they built last summer. They either got it late or dealer traded. Just for grins, What is the manufacture date? Is should be on the door jam of the car or on the original window sticker.

C-Max is rocket propelled--day two of ownship report
ScooterS replied to Laurel's topic in Lounge: Off-Topic
Just checked mine again. It is still moving and hasn't stopped all night. If it doesn't get stuck, It should be at the railhead by lunch (I'm sure that just saying that will curse it). -
I get the same reaction.... duhhh.. I tell them that it is Ford's Prius killer......yeahhh I mention that it is like the cockpit of the new Escape. It is a bit lower with the front and rear end smaller. They wince a bit. I then explain the 47 MPG part. They ask if I have a brochure and want to go for a ride when the car arrives!
