  1. Oh, should have mentioned that it's Motorcraft oil. I'm guessing synthetic oil is made by a small number of companies and rebadged, so it might even be made by Mobil, or at least one of the other big oil companies. As long as it meet's Ford's spec requirement.
  2. I went in for the free 3K mile oil change that the salesguy gave me (not sure why it's needed, but not going to argue). I wanted full synthetic oil instead of the synthetic blend that is standard. They let me pay the difference in cost, which was about $20 for me. Not bad.
  3. Found this while looking at recent stories in el Goog. Couldn't find any other sites confirming the story. http://gotaclassaction.com/ford-motors-sued-over-mileage-efficiency-of-c-max-hybrid-and-fusion-hybrid/ This consumer fraud class action is based on Defendant Ford Motor Company’s false and misleading marketing campaign for its 2013 model year C-MAX Hybrid and Fusion Hybrid (“Subject Vehicles”). Ford launched the C-MAX Hybrid in October, 2012, touting the vehicle as “America’s most fuel efficient and affordable hybrid utility vehicle.”
  4. I've seen the problem with the wrong source selected, many times. This isn't even beta-quality software. This is an unstable alpha quality app.
  5. I believe it shows the current average, which is different from lifetime average. Before I drove off the lot after delivery, I reset the current average but not the lifetime average. They now show two different values.
  6. Getting stuck in the mobile theme appears to be a bug in the IP.Board forum. http://community.invisionpower.com/resources/guides.html/_/knowledge-base/cannot-switch-back-from-mobile-skin-r256
  7. Lately, when replying in a thread, the screen sits with "Saving post..." and never refreshes. The message shows as posted if you view the thread in another tab. That may be causing the double posts. Unless it's just me.
  8. I'd like to see mileage at several speeds like 55, 65 and 75, or even a line graph showing mileage up to whatever the highest legal state speed limit is.
  9. Previously, I did coast to a stop at red lights or stop signs with cars waiting, and I didn't take off too quickly from stoplights. But I did take off quickly from 4-way stop signs and I accelerated too rapidly after slowing. I drove 67-68 in 70 MPH zones. Now I accelerate more gently and drive slightly slower most of the time, unless I'm in a hurry.
  10. My car was delivered to me with 34 psi in the tires. That was measured after driving it. I estimate they would have 32 psi cold. Ford recommends 38, so I don't know how low they have to be to turn on a dash warning.
  11. As fas as I know, all Eco Cruise does is make cruise control let off the accelerator when climbing hills so you drop a couple MPH.
  12. Ford actually considers the C-Max a truck. Their internal model name for it is "Escape" and the body type (trim level) is C-Max. Says so on my purchase agreement.
  13. Most android phones can create a wifi hotspot with tethering. I used to use FoxFi until it went commercial and the free version added a time limit. Or you can root an android phone and enable tethering without a tethering plan.
  14. I am tempted to try these. I think the C-Max needs the "error free" CAN Bus type of bulb. Anyone want to take a chance and try them? I'm not too excited about having to return another set of bulbs after my failed attempt. http://www.carid.com/universal-led-lights/lumen-led-lights-3046681.html http://www.carid.com/universal-led-lights/lumen-led-lights-3047385.html
  15. Most reviews I've seen say 8.1 - 8.2s 0-60 and some estimate 8.5 or 9.
  16. Published on Dec 8, 2012 TheTruthAboutCars.com's Alex L. Dykes takes the all-new, all-hybrid C-MAX out for a drive. We talk infotainment, drivetrain, seating, cargo and give the C-MAX our exclusive Trunk Comfort Index. Exactly how good is Ford's Prius fighter and does it really get 47MPG? Watch to find out.
  17. I had my car "forget" a frequent destination (the dealership lot) after a few weeks of not stopping there. I am not sure whether it only holds a limited number of destinations or if it deletes them after a certain amount of time.
  18. The C-Max cannot be compared to other vehicles until a large number of vehicles have been on the road for a full year. Cold weather hurts mileage because of warmup time and because of winter blend gas. The average will come up once a lot of cars log higher summer mileage.
  19. The front passenger seat partly reclines, but doesn't lie flat. With the hatch closed, six feet is in the middle of the front arm rest and eight feet almost touches the center console in the dash. You could probably fit 10 foot lumber in diagonally, but it would be laying on top of the dash. Best way to see for yourself is to take a tape measure to the nearest dealer with one on the lot.
  20. The grade assist only engages the ICE going down very steep hills in my experience. On moderate hills, it stays in EV mode and the up arrow shows that the battery is charging.
  21. My average is at 43 now. Trip average varies from high 30s on short trips when the weather is cold, to 40-60+ when the engine is warmed up.
  22. Page 359 of Owners Guide: "C-MAX full hybrid vehicles are equipped with an information display which indicates the proper oil change service interval; the interval is up to one year or 10000 miles (16000 kilometers). When ENGINE OIL CHANGE DUE or OIL CHANGE REQUIRED appears in the information display, it’s time for an oil change; the oil change must be done within two weeks or 500 miles (800 kilometers) of the ENGINE OIL CHANGE DUE or OIL CHANGE REQUIRED message appearing."
  23. Glass blocks most UV light and you can add film to the glass for more UV blocking.
  24. Keeping the climate control off and just using the heated seats until the engine is warmed up is the key to staying in EV mode. Short trips when the weather is cold and the engine runs continuously will reduce mileage in any hybrid.
  25. Mine recognized my home as a frequent destination after only six times, but took many trips to recognize the parking lot at work. It's still sometimes flaky in that it won't go to EV+ even when the battery isn't that low. It's also inconsistent in the location where it turns on, sometimes closer and sometimes much further away. I don't really need EV+ anyway because on the times when it didn't turn on, I was gentle on the gas and easily made it in normal EV mode.
