You can check my sig Fuelly stats, most of the driving is my wife. She does not follow any fuel optimizing techniques, drives like she did her previous Jetta TDI that averaged 35 mpg on diesel.
-
That's a fairly significant impact at 70 mph. Those who primarily drive highway miles will see a very quick payback. Have you noted any impact on inverter temps when using the covers at higher speeds especially when EV assist is active on the highway.
-
I had a similar problem, located on the passenger side where the molding overlaps halfway up the window. Dealer fixed it when my C-Max was in for the Check Engine Light problem.
-
I just ordered 2 of these I just ordered two of these, one for our daughters 2012 Golf TDI, the other for our C-Max.

Click your username at the top right corner of the screen and you will see "Manage Ignore Pref" as an option. Click on that and you will be taken to the ignore options. After adding a user to the list you will never see their posts again unless someone else quotes what they say. I noticed in some forums one troll will quote another so you just add both to the ignore list.

Can you explain Active Grille Shutters? The big grille opening at the front -- if you have no choice, it's got to be fully open all the time to suit the requirements for when you need maximum cooling, which is wide open throttle, going uphill, and in hot weather. But most of the time -- 90 percent of the time -- you can shut them down because the car isn't demanding so much cooling. You close the grille shutters and you'll get about 0.10 Cd aero improvement. The air instead of going through the engine gets blocked and goes over the car which is a much better place to send it. I performed my own Master Reset when my check engine light first appeared and all the settings disappeared as you describe. I did reset the Lifetime stats.

Unless there is problem with the C-Max low voltage charge design a gas powered car should have the same problem or worse maintaining the battery. Have you considered a Plug-In?
-
I have had good luck with Fords, owned 3 Mustangs and 2 F150s. If something happened to my Passat I would probably go for a Fusion Hybrid Titanium.
-
I jumped through all the reset hoops before they finally replaced the part. So far the light has not returned. I had a variation of "Check Fuel Filler Inlet", "Check Engine", and a mix of both.

2009+ model VWs give you 3 years of free oil changes and maintenance. You can get bad dealers with any brand. My Subaru dealer in Plano couldn't change the oil and tighten the drain plug properly. The Subie had a wheel bearing go after the wife hit a curb in the ice and the dealer charged $500.00 for a replacement that they clearly did not do. Tried to say I must have hit another curb after taking it to another dealer who discovered the bearing was still bad. Called Subaru Customer Service and they sided with the dealer. Service doesn't get much worse than that. I only traded my 2010 Jetta TDI for the C-Max for concern of losing my high pressure fuel pump. That design was changed starting with my Passat TDI and last month VW registered 30% TDI option for all Passats sold.

A VW Diesel Hybrid may be coming sooner than you think. http://jalopnik.com/5975690/vw-crossblue-concept-screw-you-were-making-a-diesel-hybrid-suv-out-of-a-golf http://insideevs.com/volkswagen-extended-range-crossblue-suv-gets-production-approval-for-us/

I am waiting for 10,000 for mine, same schedule as my VW's.

http://blip.tv/driven-car-reviews/2013-ford-c-max-hybrid-6536543 C-Max has been popular for years in Europe. Now Americans have the chance to snag one. Tom Voelk finds out if it can really get 47 miles to the gallon. Share

Plus 3 Golfer and other North Texas members here will put the C-Max battery under a heat test this summer. Triple digits are the norm.

Nice, you have a fuel efficient garage now.

Thanks for the link, I now know the eGolf is set to arrive in 2014. http://green.autoblog.com/2013/02/28/vw-golf-plug-in-hybrid-coming-in-2014/

Brake Regen Threshold Display?
darrelld replied to From Speed6ing 2 C-Maxing's topic in Fuel Mileage
VW is implementing the paddle shifter regen control option in the eGolf. http://reviews.cnet.com/8301-13746_7-57403748-48/first-drive-in-the-electric-vw-egolf/ -
I still wouldn't buy a Prius for the reasons you mention, if I needed to drive primarily highway diesel is the most efficient option. You have a spare tire, no loss of trunk capacity, or additional battery weight to lug around. Diesel engines have inherently higher thermal efficiency than Atkins cycle gasoline engines. http://www.consumerreports.org/cro/2012/01/hybrids-diesels-do-they-save-money/index.htm?loginMethod=auto©rightYear=2013

One of the main reasons not to buy a Prius V is obvious in this recent test http://youtu.be/YEs1RBxJMjE
