  1. Welcome aboard. Nice to know you bought the correct color. LOL
  2. Have heard a weird buzzing noise when first starting that I haven't been able to figure out what it is.
  3. We got the Sel because we wanted the extra features plus not having a power seat would have been a non starter for us. I'm 6'1, wife is 5'4 & daughter is 5'2. My back messes up on occasion so wanted the lumbar support too. If I could have gotten an SE with power seat I would have considered it. I would also think you might have been able to get a better deal on an in stock SEL if you could find one. I only paid 25, 700 OTD for mine.
  4. Driving along with the ac on & noticed it was getting a little toasty. Had it set on 74, blower on 3rd bar & recycle on. Kept turning down the temp, even to 60 something & increasing blower speed. Never got any cooler. Started thinking maybe the compressor just died like others have expirenced. Decided to pull over, shut off the car & restart it. Worked fine after the "reboot". Guess it's a typical Bill Gates kind of thing. Doesn't work right, just reboot the system. Anybody else seen this?
  5. Well, just, filled the tank for the first time. Didn't stretch it out to 600 miles, maybe next tank. Got 46.5 mpg figured at the pump. Lifetime avg at 44.7. I can live with that.
  6. Don't know if we're going to make 600 miles on the first tank, even with these kind of numbers. Sitting on 1/8 tank & 538 miles with 65 miles to empty. Don't think my better half will want to chance it. Lifetime average not at 47 yet, but hey, it's only the first tank. Give me a break. Lol Overall I'm very pleased with the mpg's. I really think CR magazine should take a second look at this car. Go for a longer drive with the warmer temps, etc. I bet they'd get some totally different numbers.
  7. I bought a complete set of Husky brand in black to go with the light tan interior of ours. They seem a little lightweight & somewhat cheesy for the price, but they do a great job covering the driver's side "dead pedal" completely. Would have probably gotten the Weathertechs, but the online rep I chatted with said they didn't cover that driver side pedal. Shut down that sale quickly as that's where my foot is 95% of the time. Bought mine from Amazon with free "Prime" shipping.
  8. Ruby red SEL with 300A package. $25,700 OTD with all taxes, doc fees, etc. Actually had another dealer email me with a better price while I was in the dealership finishing the deal. I'd already shook hands on the first deal so stuck with it. :)
  9. Saw my first red one two Saturdays ago by the Home Depot in Spotsylvania VA & a white one on Smith Station Rd in Spotsylvania a couple hours ago.
  10. Was not me. Looks like another C Maxer had good taste when picking red tho. :wub2:
  11. Here's an example of our learning curve.
  12. Seems to me that all the gas pumps I use these days only have one "speed" setting. FAST.
  13. Looks like they already sold one of them.
  14. Welcome aboard. What is your expected order to delivery time frame?
  15. Don't know about earlier models but we only have about 300 miles on our 1 week old 13 model & already show around 42 mpg lifetime avg.Have gotten several 15-25 mile trips above 46. Daughter texted me today saying she got 54 mpg on a 7 mile run. Needless to say, I'm impressed. Hopefully the gauge isn't lying too bad. :)
  16. I didn't even get to the test drive part. Just sat in it & knew it wasn't me. Could have been related to wacking my head just trying to sit in the Prius. That can happen on a regular basis when you're 6' 1" Lol
  17. That stinks. Sorry your vacation was ruined. Hopefully they'll take care of you soon.
  18. Had ours less than a week but we are already showing 44 & up mpgs, displayed on the screen mind you. Wife did a 26 mile run yesterday on rural roads, ac on 76 & got 47.6. I believe the differences are mostly weather related. I own some Geo Metros & belong to the geometroforum.com We also discuss many different ways to increase our mileage. Grill blocks, adding air to the tires, aero mods, total removal of ac systems, etc. Cold weather totally robs those cars of mpgs. Typical loss of 5 to 9 mpg in winter with winter blend gas is not uncommon.
  19. Worked for me too. Used it when I picked up ours last week.
  20. Wife drove it today on a 26 miler mostly rural road, ac at 76, no cruise. She got 47.6 mpg. I was pretty impressed.
