BobJustBob
Hi folks, I was pleasantly surprised to see the EV+ mode designator come up on my left display (I think I am using the "Engage" display) yesterday while returning home after running a Saturday afternoon errand. I thought it was going to take longer for the C-Max to learn my driving habits; somewhere (I think it was the Owner's Manual) I read it would take 2-to-4 weeks for the C-Max to learn my frequent routes and switch-on EV+ mode. Well, it took only 11 days of driving before it switched-on for me. This is probably because I return home by the same route 99% of the time, so it was easy for the system to "learn" my home route. Anyway, I hope this feature fulfills it purpose and boosts by gas mileage!
robodog61
I noticed the same thing today after about 3 weeks of driving
C-MaxJaxon
Mine recognized my home as a frequent destination after only six times, but took many trips to recognize the parking lot at work. It's still sometimes flaky in that it won't go to EV+ even when the battery isn't that low. It's also inconsistent in the location where it turns on, sometimes closer and sometimes much further away. I don't really need EV+ anyway because on the times when it didn't turn on, I was gentle on the gas and easily made it in normal EV mode. roninsd
My EV+ came on yesterday when I neared home, after 9 days.
GJ450
Is there anyway to 'reset' the EV+ mode ? I have seen mine come on only 1 time. We drive the same route to/from work every day ? Just curious ? We have had the car now for about a month. Thanks

Jus-A-CMax
^yeah, I just found that out. I reset the Lifetime this morning on my first gas up. I should have done it when I picked it up but I did not know about it then. My car from the dealer had 87 "test" miles including some very inefficient gas guzzling runs. I know cause I was one of them. So now my CMax has to re-learn. Adair
ptjones
I noticed that E+ comes on near my house and work. Cool
roninsd
EV+ at home came on a week ago (after 9 days), and work just came on Thursday (12 days). Kinda fun.
C-MaxJaxon
I had my car "forget" a frequent destination (the dealership lot) after a few weeks of not stopping there. I am not sure whether it only holds a limited number of destinations or if it deletes them after a certain amount of time.
shaners
Mine comes on when I am about 3/4 mile from home.
Tdefny
Mine recognized my house within the first three days. I always forget to check if it activates at work (I go to two different locations on different days). I will have to pay attention to that. One thing I like about EV+ is that by leaving the traction battery in its lowest state of charge, it makes better use of the ICE when it starts the next time and has to run to warm up the polution controls. Very clever.
AgentCMAX
My C-Max enabled EV+ mode after maybe 2 weeks of driving. But my work was recently recognized for EV+ mode after 4-5 weeks. I think the reason the work place took a while to recognize is due to different parking positions in the parking lot. At home, I'm always parked at the same location. Tdefny
I hereby take back any doubts that I had about EV+. I took a little detour on the way home tonight to do some shopping and had about 8 miles EV range left for a 9 mile trip. I was then down to 1 mile range with 2+ miles left to go and when I got off the highway I was below 1 mile range with over a mile to go, but I saw the EV+ light and made it home without using any gas. The car knew it was going to get fed soon and went the rest of the way. Very cool.

From Speed6ing 2 C-Maxing
EV+ took 8 trips and 12 days to register at work, still haven't registered at home yet.

darrelld
Yes. Mine is an Energi.Cool, I don't get the EV range on the the regular C-Max. Still would be a nice feature to have. Fits2at
rfruth
I wonder if the C-Max hybrid has a cellular modem like the Energi does ?
valkraider
I wonder if the C-Max hybrid has a cellular modem like the Energi does ? No, it does not. But it will use your phone's data if you set it up that way and pair it.

JulieB
EV+ showed up today when I turned in the alley to our house. Pretty good, as we picked up the car Saturday night and didn't drive at all yesterday due to the snow. Oh, and Christmas. We just stayed inside. StoBro2
It is my understanding that it allows the battery to be drained a little bit more than normal in anticipation of being shut off soon. It discourages the ICE from firing up with only a block or two to go. Of course, it's all about squeezing just a little bit more mileage per gallon.
