  1. Just for fun I looked up the two sites and who owns them: owner.ford.com -> 23.6.173.96 -> Akamai Technologies, Inc. (AKAMAI) www.etis.ford.com -> 136.1.62.29 Ford Motor Company (FORDMO) Akamai is a commen hosting company, often used for high usage sites.

  3. I keep my pocket change in my pocket. ;)
  4. I can't think of any reason you couldn't tow with an eCVT as there's nothing sliding around. Maybe just increasing the power capability of MG1 to provide more torque to the planetary gearset.
  5. My dashcam is powered using the 12V outlet in the center console, I just unplug it before leaving the car and plug it back when I get back in the car. How is yours powered?
  6. In TSB 14-0155 regarding various reasons for a dead 12V battery one of the items was: 5. Is the vehicle and Energi built on or before 9/12/2013? a Yes - replace telematics control unit (TCU) Module. Refer to WSM, Section 415-00. Proceed to Step 6. So not a recall. I live in an area without AT&T 2G Data so MFM wouldn't work here even with a good TCU, so I just removed it rather than having it replaced. The charger I have is a http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000H961YI/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 There are lots of chargers with de-sulfating available. This charger isn't particularly good but seems to do the job. I set the battery type to AGM otherwise it wants to charge the battery to an absurd voltage.
  7. Sounds like a sulfated battery to me. Every time the battery is discharged and it sits in that condition it gets even worse. My Energi ended with a dead battery a few times before I removed the defective TCU (cell phone modem for MyFord Mobile). Every couple of months I hook up an external battery charger that has a de-sulfating feature. I plan on just keeping the current damaged battery in the hope that at some point a proper deep-cycle AGM battery is available to fit the C-Max.
  8. You could read the user manual. "Your hybrid vehicle can use E15 (15% ethanol, 85% gasoline) fuel, but you may notice slightly reduced fuel economy because ethanol contains less energy per gallon than gasoline. Your hybrid vehicle is not designed to use E85 (85% ethanol)."
  9. Maybe the cabin air filter is dirty.
  10. Neither of the programs for Apple products (FORScan and OBD Fusion) will work with a bluetooth adapter, Wifi only.
  11. There is an exemption in the copyright law for sharing of small excerpts of copyrighted material for educational purposes. I've used that exemption many times, but refused when someone wants me to copy the whole chapter.
  12. So does that display in 1 PSI increments or 0.1 PSI increments? How do you tell Torque what resolution you want? OBD Fusion has a selection of 0, 1, or 2 decimal places.
  13. The Europeans are starting to regret their push for diesel cars to reduce CO2 emissions as they are now suffering from particulate matter pollution from the diesels.
  14. The thread that scottwood2 linked is a good source of information and links. The camera I got is a module with the camera and a LED light that replaces one of the license plate light units. The hard part is removing enough of the car interior plastic pieces to run wires from the tailgate to the instrument panel. The most expensive part is the Lockpick module, so it's not a cheap project. Take a look at the Youtube videos linked in that thread to see if you feel comfortable doing the work.
  15. I think that's after the car had been on quite a long time so the charging voltage had reduced.
  16. I've got some custom PID information for TPMS readings and Oil Life remaining percentage. Tested using OBD Fusion (OF) on an iPad, I've included what I think the values for Torque Pro (TP) should be. OF Mod. TP Hdr. 17. Wire colors change mid-way between the Digital Audio Control Module and the speakers. The DACM is in the instrument panel on the left (driver's side) of the car then the cable comes out to Connector 237 (C237) which seems to go under the center console before heading to the rear speakers. There is one wire that has a different color I'll list both ends. Signal DACM Speaker Left Rear+ Brown-Green White-Green Left Rear- Brown-Yellow Brown-Yellow Right Rear+ Brown-White Brown-White Right Rear- Brown-Blue Brown-Blue
  18. Displaying TFT with a digit to the right of the decimal point is, well, pointless. It's just a thermistor, might be accurate to within 5 degrees if you are lucky.
  19. Ooops, it's 0.0625°C increments. For the 95% of the world that uses Celsius, MTH should be 000100100000 which is (counts / 16)
  20. As I understand it the flag in RXF for 10 divisor is if you want to have it display one digit to the right of the decimal point. Based on (((signed(A)*256)+B)*(9/8)+320)/10 the counts from the car are in 0.16°C increments instead of 0.1°C. Looking at 000900500020 the 0009 is the multiplier, 0050 is the divider in hexadecimal which is 80 decimal, and 20 is added as an offset and is 32 decimal. So it's ((counts) * 9) / 80 + 32 which is the same as the ((9/8)+320)/10 in the above equation if you remember your high school algebra. I worked through the math using the results from the ScanGauge and FORScan and it appears using 000900500020 agrees with FORScan.
  21. I see the problem. The TorquePro/OBD Fusion equation for TFT is: (((signed(A)*256)+B)*(9/8)+320)/10 I believe the proper MTH on the ScanGauge should be 000900500020
  22. Using the XGauge codes: TXD: 07E6221E1C RXF: 0462051E061C RXD: 3010 MTH: 000900320020 NAM: TFT I did a comparison between ScanGauge and FORScan Lite. Before driving: SG = 48 FS = 6C (43F) After driving: SG = 84 FS = 18C (64F) So the math for the XGauge seems to be wrong in some way.
  23. I've been playing around with the iPhone version, sending them back debug log files and crash log file to help them find some bugs. Here's some data from the BECM on my Energi
  24. Over in the Tesla Motors Club forum they have something I don't think I've seen anywhere else. There is a thread called "snippiness" that gets posts deemed unsuitable, they are removed from the original posting thread and moved there.
