On the way home, from picking up the wife from work, We saw a Jersey Cow roaming around near the side of the road. As soon as I saw it, I slowed down, hit the hazards & turned around to go to the dairy to alert them about the loose cow. After notifying them, I went back to the road & did a bit of cattle wrangling while in EV mode the whole time. The car was so quiet, so the cow didn't get spooked.

1 kick Power liftgate stories...

For the next month or two, the liftgate will be getting a workout as my mom just had a total knee replacement done, so the walker is gonna be in the very back. -
1 kick Power liftgate stories...

Initially when the C-Max was released, the Handsfree Liftgate, in order to operate with the C-Max locked, you had to swipe/kick twice to get the liftgate to open. With the module update, now even when the C-Max is locked, it only takes one swipe/kick. -
Lifetime Brake Score?

The majority of Energy Efficient spaces can be found where there's a higher presence of Plug-In Vehicles (C-Max Energi, Fusion Energi, Focus Electric). The metropolitan area near me has 3-4 parking lots that have Energy Efficient Parking.

There are areas where there is parking for Senior Citizens & Pregnant Women, those lots that feature those spaces, it is up to the store/retail complex to enforce who can & cannot park there, there is no local ordinance involved concerning those spaces. Handicapped Parking is technically mandated by local/state ordinance & so thechnically the only ones who can park in those spaces must have either a parking placard, decal or plate that designates that person has the parking privilege.

Concerning the noise cancelling, it can affect being able to hear emergency vehicles. On Friday, we turned out of a gas station that's about a block from a Fire Station, next thing we know we had am ambulance right next to us with lights & siren going, & we could only heard the siren when they were right next to us (all we had on was the A/C on AUTO). Thankfully, we remembered that the fire department sends out as fire truck with every ambulance so we were expecting the fire truck to be not far behind the ambulance.

How many people use the horn as a warning they are backing up? The only ones I know of are professional drivers (OTR Drivers, etc). When backing up, I have hazards going as well as the back-up alarm, however people must be blind &/or deaf, as they continue to walk behind the C-Max. I see it as we are giving fair warning we are backing up with the back-up alarm & that if while backing up someone walks behind us & gets bumped, they should be the ones with the citation not us.

Lifetime Brake Score?
mnrobitaille replied to Edsel's topic in Brakes, Chassis, Park Assist & Suspension
Minor update, for one time brake score, on Friday we had a 58% which I did noticed on the brake coach. Even after that, we are still at 93% for lifetime brake score. -
In other words when using voice commands to do GPS, the MFT Screen would change to NAV functions as soon as you said "Destination POI" or "Destination Street Address". I've noticed now that when using voice command, that the MFT screen will not change to NAV functions until ready to select your vocal input as destination/waypoint or there's a multiple choice.

We took Neytiri in for Round 2 of 3.5.1 update yesterday, it only took the dealership about 2 & a half hours to do the operation. I was a bit surprised that I was able to sync both phones so fast (didn't have to type in the SYNC ID on the phones). We noticed that the backup camera seems to be more clear & vibrant, & that the NAV interface is actually easier to use. It's just a bit different that when using Voice Commands on NAV that the MFT Screen doesn't populate each time after every command, instead it only populates on multiple choices or when selecting destination as destination or waypoint.

A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To Buy My 2nd Fusion
mnrobitaille replied to Lil_One's topic in Welcome
When we got the C-Max back in September 2012, our main vehicle was a 1990 Plymouth Grand Voyager that was falling apart & a 1985 Chevrolet Celebrity station wagon. We not really searching for a new car, however due to both our vehicles having issues, having to borrow a friend's car, & my mother having Total Knee Replacement surgery coming up, the need for a new vehicle was there. The day before we got the C-Max, my mother & I visited the dealership looking at the Escape, Flex, & Focus. I remembered hearing about the C-Max online & asked if we could take a closer look at one when I noticed it there at the dealership. The sales rep asked us if we wanted to take a test drive, we said yes. After the test drive, both my mom & I fell in love with the C-Max (however mom doesn't do any major purchases until checking with dad). Initially he was against it, however the next day we took him in & requested that he be allowed to test drive the C-Max. Same story as mom, he fell in love with the C-Max after the test drive (unfortunately I was unable to drive during either test drive). After punching numbers & contacting several financial institutions, we were able to secure the C-Max. The Escape we were looking at was an Escape Titanium (fully loaded), however it costs $5,000 more & had an EPA-MPG of 5 miles less than the C-Max. At the time of delivery, our C-Max was the 3rd one the dealership had sold, but was the 1st loaded SEL they sold. Our sales rep had previously worked over at the local Toyota dealership, so he had experience with the Prius, & his response was that the C-Max was, hands down, the better vehicle. -
Softer touch horn like the 2102 Fusion has? We loaned one from the dealership while the liftgate update was installed, & the 3.5.1 update was tried to be installed. The horn was so sensitive you barely touched it, & it sounded. It would be interesting if they put in solar panels on the roof as a means to gain additional charge, especially with the new release out about switching the C-Max Hybrid to perform like the C-Max Energi.

Setting favorites on Myford Touch nav.
mnrobitaille replied to Laurel's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
I finally learned that little trick today. It's nice that you can input a name to a street address saved in Favorites so that you know exactly what the street address is. -
What kind of cell phone do you have?
mnrobitaille replied to Adair's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
Re-synced both phones after 3.5.1 successfully was installed. Right after the Galaxy S 2 (Epic 4G Touch) got synced, received a text message & it was read aloud. -
3.5.1......Anyone? Anyone?
mnrobitaille replied to Adair's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
Concerning the design behind 3.5.1, I find it interesting how when using voice commands for navigation, that the MFT Screen does not switch to the Navigation screen until you are ready to choose your destination. -

The 2nd time was the charm this time, as the install went through without a hitch. The installation took about 2 and half hours. The graphic on power distribution looks like a C-max, not a Focus. Found out that when setting up favorites, if you use a street address, you can then program in a name for that street address. I did connect my iPad2 via USB on the way home & did not notice any issues.
