  1. Sweet! Thank you. I'll check more frequently on this board from now on....
  2. That one year rule is kind of nuts. In the exact same manual for our '13 Energi it noted have an oil change every 2 years or 20k miles....
  3. Got to test drive a Model Y Wednesday afternoon. (My wife has a Y order since day one or two, but Tesla refuses to build a 7 seat long range RWD). They had a 7 seater so we wanted to see how much room we'd have with her sitting in the third row. Luckily the trunk frame clears her head otherwise there'd be concern in an accident. I positioned myself in the driver seat, adjusted the seat, then moved to the second row and moved the seat as forward as I could. Barely had maybe 1-2 inches in front of my knee I'm guessing, but since the bottom cushion is long felt reasonably comfy. Wife was okay in the back. This was our third test drive, the first was a nightmare due to regenerative braking. (That's how they increased the range it doesn't have the option to coast just one foot driving). 2nd test drive I confirmed no more coast option and turned on creep, much better as that's what we're used to at slow speeds. This last test drive I barely got one sudden deceleration so not bad at all, car was set to creep when we got in. That's slow speed creep if you aren't getting what I say. At highway speeds if you let go of the gas the Y will immediately start to slow down as if you're braking. This time just before we got in I learned how to set the self driving. My wife was first and she would immediately panic, tug the wheel, and disable it. On my turn I got it to turn on, it works on city streets some. It was able to stop at a red light without a vehicle in front of me, which impressed me a lot, twice or three times in busy Old Town Pasadena. But half way through waiting at the red it would disengage and require driver intervention. I guess they haven't implemented green light recognition yet or something. Overall it's starting to come together except I was uncomfortable with the slightly rapid acceleration and strong braking. I think I was just as stressed having to be a nanny to the system driving as it would for me to be driving...
  4. I didn't have much trouble changing the air filter in our Energi. The Owner's Manual has a nice picture. Look at the picture carefully. Rotate the assembly as shown. Pull it out without a fuss. Miss the C-MAX. (We moved onto a '18 Clarity Touring with Nav, from a '13 Energi was it 401a, no self parking). My Ford Mobile was so much better than HondaLink, although I confess they are making improvements in functionality. Wonder what Sync 4 has to offer....
  5. There was a trunk door wire harness issue on the 2013, (not sure if all 2013s were affected), which included a physical repair and retaping where the wire harness entered the body I think, and software update. It was done under some sort of service campaign for us without cost. We traded in the car in 2018 so I don't have record of it. I'll see if my wife kept the folder somehow....
  6. Been waiting for the Energi revival, then merging. To be honest I checked and there's no more Platinum membership here, but I had one over there. Don't suppose you could at least transfer it over so my screen is clean of advertising. We no longer have our C-MAX so to explain paying for another membership would be difficult even if you offered it....
  7. Beautiful car. Is that Oxford White or that Diamond color that's hard to match with touch-up paint?
  8. That video was excellent. I couldn't understand one word he was saying to me it sounded like "wet cream" but I finally realized probably was saying vacuum!
  9. Did you try pulling it straight out at this point? I actually had to change one on our '13, and swapped in a parking lot of the store without removing the lamp. I don't recall anything unique except it was really cramped because I hadn't removed the lamp.
  10. I would not dare buy one of those non-official SD cards ever again. I bought one through Amazon and after looking at the contents, sent it back. The version is on a file that can be swapped with a later version, but the actual data files are locked. Essentially you could get an A10 card with A4 data on it, and it may be difficult to tell. Buy the A11/B11 direct from navigation.com .
  11. The interface module you buy/choose usually has details on what is retained of OE functionality...
  12. While we had our '13 I never had an issue seeing at night, and I have mild night blindness. Get a higher performing bulb (although shorter lived) like Philips X-tremeVision. If you have projector style it may be beneficial to substitute a modified H9, but best ask someone knowledgeable like the moderator on candlepowerforums transportation section...
  13. Resetting the battery monitor is part of the instructions. Glad they did it. When I replaced our ex Energi's battery at about 3 years I did not reset for 1 day, while I figured out how, but I honestly didn't notice a difference...
  14. I went with that because I could not find a dry synthetic (reusable) filter replacement. Not sure if any other manufacturer makes one now for the C-MAX. Here's the instructions from the Owner's Manual. Note the "rotate" instruction and exactly how it is rotated, looks like clockwise 45 degrees.
  15. If I came back to my car in a commercial parking lot and 7 lug nuts were missing, I’d think someone was trying to steal my wheels but was stopped somehow. Yes, you can get all locking nuts! http://www.gorilla-auto.com/the-system
  16. I put a K&N in our Energi when it was due for an air filter replacement. My wife traded our Energi in and I'm afraid I have nothing much to report except engine sounded less like it was gasping for air. Please open you Owners' Manual to the page with air filter replacement instructions. There is a picture. If you rotate the housing in that orientation it will slide out without much fuss.
  17. Is yours a Hybrid or Energi? I believe it only works for Energi models.
  18. Thanks for the warning about black ice! We lived in Cleveland for a little bit but it never required snow devices because the roads were plowed. Snow tires were enough. As I recall it was a real danger on top of bridges as well, as the cold air could get under the road and really freeze it up! I really wanted to go to the park instead of Vegas because last time I went to a Casino I had a cough for 2 months. I'll take my chances with ice/snow. (Driving down the road to Hana in the dark was a challenging one. Take your time going there they say. Well, then you end up coming down in the dark, like they do not recommend. I'm okay at the wheel it seems.) Definitely will not speed!!! If anyone sees a C-MAX Energi towards the right in Sequoia at the end of the month, that's probably us.....
  19. Thank you. I'm most likely going to stick with the SCC SZ137s. I don't think I can afford the Thule K-Summit K33s. I noticed Peerless/SCC says 30mph, so I'll try to stay at/under that if snow actually falls. I noticed you have them only on the front. The chain/cable manufacturer says both front and rear is better, but I was looking in a Prius v manual and it warns to only use them on the front. I am definitely confused about this...
  20. Sorry to bring back an old thread, but we might take a trip to Sequoia at the end of November. Reading up it is advisable to have snow chains with you for that time of year.... I just took a peek in the front wheel wells of our Energi and was a little concerned about the clearance to the top part of the strut that sticks out close to the tire. Did you happen to notice if the chain ever made contact to that area? Thanks so much in advance.
  21. The filter you refer to doesn't seem to be correct for US 2.0 L F/I engines anyways....
