I was referring to the back seats being comfortable.LOL :) :) Paul

Was that a SE or SEL? I'm not sure what the differences are but no one has complained about our SEL. :) Paul

Now with temps consistently in 70's-low 80's MPG's are going up. Still have full Grill Covers on MADMAX and only takes 1/2mile for WT to reach 128*F, still takes 15-20min. to get to 200*F WT in city driving. 4/10/14 made filled up at BJ's, 656.2mi.,13.04gal and 50.3MPG w/50% city. I added Chevron Techron Injector Cleaner ,because I have 53k miles on odometer, figured it was time to clean injectors. Immediately my MPG's went down about 2mpg's, how bazaar! I filled up at BJ's on 4/19/14, 662.2mi.,13.7gal and 48.3MPG with 50% city. I did have a little more carrying my bike around on the back of MADMAX than usual, but not that much. With 250mi on this tank I really bounced back with currently 55.6mpg which means probably 54mpg actual. I'm surprised that gas additive would hurt MPG's that much when it is in the tank. It looks like my average MPG's this summer are going to be up 5mpg maybe more than last year. :shift: :) Paul

My C-max is a lemon, how about yours?

ptjones replied to MyFordisaLemon's topic in Lounge: Off-Topic
MyFordisaLemon has an Energi, not a Hybrid. He also posted on the Energi forum. IMO it looks like he wants to create a lot of attention instead of trying to fix his car. He could try working with Ashley (our Ford Rep) to smooth things out and get action. :) Paul -
I have a rattle by the power point, brake handle area, only rattles at curtain speeds. If I put my hand on both sides and squish it, it stops. Styrofoam cups and Plastic water bottles can make a lot of noise too. ;) Paul

I wonder how FFH sales did during that same period ? We might get some added info from that. It could be the whole car market is down. :) Paul

Engine air filter every 3000 miles ?
ptjones replied to rfruth's topic in Maintenance, TSB's & Recalls
I agree with you on that, but it sounded like you could block the filter almost all the way and it wouldn't effect MPG's. IMO :) Paul -
Engine air filter every 3000 miles ?
ptjones replied to rfruth's topic in Maintenance, TSB's & Recalls
Conventional wisdom would agree with your point #1, but I have practical experience to the contrary. I had a 2007 Focus SES/5speed, 2L DOHC like CMAX, which didn't get get close to EPA HWY mileage of 37, I was getting 33-34mpg. I installed a Steeda air intake filter system( short hose and K&N style filter. I gained 2-3mpg and the acceleration was impressive(manufacturer claims 7hp). It took me 2-2.5hrs to remove the FORD Filter system( 5ft long), it was designed to suppress noise from the intake of ICE and did good job. The new system was louder under hard acceleration, but did save probably 15lbs from old system. Maybe an interesting side effect was the exhaust pipe was still clean after 60K mi. I have never seen that with any other car I've owned. :) Paul -
She just makes sure that everything that can be done, is being done at the FORD Dealer. :) Paul

Lance Merlees Gundersen you end up training yourself to drive a Hybrid to get the best MPG's you can. Regen Braking is important, I have a 98% lifetime score. I think a lot of CMAX drivers don't want to make the extra effort it takes to get great MPG's, while others like myself have turned it into a challenge or game to see what's possible to do. You didn't say what part of the country you are in, you can figure you will lose 2mpg for each 10*F drop in temp from 70*F. There are mod's you can do to improve MPG's like Grill Covers, GasPods, putting 50psi in your tires and don't carry any extra weight in the car. Also it takes 6k-10k mi. for the engine to brake in. Another thing is your odometer is off by approx. 1.5%,(you can use portable GPS to check this) so you are getting better MPG's if you are using actual mileage divided by actual gals. Have fun driving your new car. :) :shift: Paul

Checked voltage difference between power point and jumper connect under hood and there was .2v difference. :) Paul

Keep us posted on your MPG's. It will be interesting If CMAX'ers try different tires how mileage is affected. At this time I haven't read anything that says there is a better fuel mileage tire than Michelin Energy Saver. :) Paul

What's in your C-Max today?
ptjones replied to C-MaxSea's topic in Cargo, Hauling, Roof Racks & Towing
OK, you've got me convinced that your CMAX is a truck. LOL :lol2: Paul -
Did you install Grill Covers? How about engine oil pan or block heaters? These things improve MPG's significantly. :) Paul

fotomoto if I haven't seen it I would have thought you were using a truck. LOL :) Paul -
Did they charge your 12v batt.? It would be interesting to see what the 12voltage is before you start the car. The only time I was concerned was when the HVB fans stayed on after turning off the car. I just restarted the car and turned it off again and they stopped. :) Paul
-
It sounds like the car never had enough time to charge the 12v batt. Maybe short trips use more 12v than what's added back. Trickle charger sounds like a good idea. It would have been a good Idea to check the voltage before charging and then after. :) Paul

Noticed today on TireRack that they have two Michelin Energy Saver A/S 225/50-17, one 93V UTQG 480 AA 51psi MAX(tires our cars came with) and 94V UTQG 480 AB 44psi Max for $9 less. I wonder if they are going to discontinue our tires for cheaper ones. :) Paul

Sorry to hear about your miss fortune. Hopefully the touch up paint will work. :gaah: Paul

Hopefully they can find the problem, PM Ashley with FORD on this site, she will take care of you. :) Paul

I think this is in another thread, but the Part#s for the 2013 and 2014 transmission are the same unless ford has updated their parts list with new #. :) Paul

2014 tire Aero Dams available from FORD
ptjones replied to ptjones's topic in Accessories & Modifications
I think they just haven't updated their data base yet. Sandy Springs Ford had a bunch of CMAX's and they specialize in Hybrids, I wonder If we could get them to find out? Also it looks like you can asks questions on FORDPARTS, need to try that. :) Paul -

ptjones replied to ptjones's topic in Accessories & Modifications
My Dealer still hasn't been able to find the part #s for rear air dams, thinking finding a Dealer that actually has 2014 CMAX's to see if they can figure it out. :detective: Paul -
