I do love Siri, and which I could access her through Sync. Could it be jealousy? :)

Folding side mirrors -- how far?
roninsd posted a topic in Glass, Lenses, Lighting, Mirrors & Wipers
The side mirrors on the SEL (and SE?) fold inward. When I try to fold them in, they only turn in a few degrees, not flat with the side of the car. I'm a little hesitant to force them, not knowing how far they are suppose to fold in. Question: do your mirrors fold in, parallel with the side of the car, or only turn in a few degrees? -
C-Max named Alternative Fuel Car of the Year
roninsd replied to HotPotato's topic in Articles, News & Reviews
http://www.autobytel.com/ford/c-max-hybrid/2013/reviews/2013-ford-c-max-hybrid-road-test-and-review-115172/ A recent review (1/25/13) of "our" car. -
:happy feet: yea. Nicely put.

That would make sense, Chinto, but no, the auto wiper function wasn't on.
-
Nick, it may be as simple as making sure you are pushing down hard enough on the brake when you start the car. A couple times my accessories came on (no engine), and I realized that I was too "light footed".

Smart man!

Joey, I got mine at Drew Ford in La Mesa. If you go there, talk with Jeannine. She was very knowledgeable about the C-Max (and Sync), very patient and enjoyable (for a salesperson) :). I think they are really focusing on being customer friendly, not pushy, etc. When I was there for service today, I saw 2 C-Maxes on the lot. There may be more.

Haven't had that problem. I'll have to look at it.

Welcome, Nick. Don't hesitate to run your C-Max through it's paces. Enjoy the ride, and feel free to let us know how everything is going with your new toy.

Took the car in, luckily no rain. Blade replaced, no charge. Because the C-Max is so new, they didn't have the blade in stock, but had to get it somewhere else in San Diego. They kept the car all day, wanting to check to make sure the motor arm was ok. Free loaner from Enterprise. Whew, everything back to normal.

Another MFT glitch - it froze while driving!
roninsd replied to Jus-A-CMax's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
It's just like any PC computer, I think: freezes, screws up, melts down occasionally, etc. Thanks, Bill! ;) -
I find the same, David. My MPG lifetime (reset at 1000 mi) is 4.3, and I'm around 1400.

I have my first reason to go to the dealership service center. :banghead: As I was standing by the front of my car, thinking how cool it looked, I noticed that something seemed wrong with one of my wiper. When I looked closer I saw that one of the wiper blades had disattached from the motor arm. I had gone through a car wash the day before, and figure that somehow it had pulled off the blade. When I looked closer, I saw that the plastic connector on the blade that attaches to the arm was broken. Hmmm, that's not suppose to happen, right? I've used this car wash for years with my other cars, and never had this problem. So i'm taking it into the service dept. tomorrow, hoping they'll say, gee, that shouldn't have happened. Here's a new blade, and we'll attach it for free. We'll see. I'm also hoping I'll get there before it starts raining! (Can't use the wipers, since the one arm would just scrape my window). I am happy, however, that is the first reason I've had to take it in!

Has anyone else noticed that the gas tank gauge goes down slowly from full to half a tank, and then seems to speed up as it reaches 1/2 a tank and below? Maybe it's just my imagination.

I may not be 100% correct, but it looks like most of the battery issues are with the SE, and not the SEL.

Remote Start Questions
roninsd replied to CNCGeek's topic in Alarms, Keyless Entry, Locks & Remote Start
Guybarth, don't worry about hijacking the sight. There's enough commonality between the two cars that you're sure to learn a lot about your new car here. You are more than welcome! -
The Engage mode does show the electric supporting the ICE when running at higher speeds. I had thought is was one or the other, but found that they do in fact work together to support the better mpg at higher speeds. When running at 65 mph, I am currently maintaining 40+ mpg overall.

Nice pix, SBGrad. You have my more expensive twin, also raised in San Diego area.

He has taken down the review, but has a reply to the negative comments in his "Oops" page: " I just noticed that a Ford C-Max forum disliked my Ford C-Max review and pointed out many mistakes. I would like to apologize for the inaccuracies, and i will edit the review. I was a bit upset seeing as how mean the people on the forum were about it. So sorry." Well, some of the above remarks ARE a little mean, but hopefully they will help him become a better reviewer. And he DID apologize, so let's cut him a little slack. (It could be a growing experience for him).

Would you buy the CMax if the advertised MPG was below 47/47?
roninsd replied to Jus-A-CMax's topic in Lounge: Off-Topic
I checked with my insurance before I bought -- it was going to be close to $200/yr more than for my 2004 saturn. Interestingly, it's only about $3 more than my partner's 2010 Aura. -
Congratulations, Hannah! Enjoy your new toy, and welcome to the forum!

Well said, Rachel. My opinion falls in line with yours. I'm at about 1200 miles, and have an average of 40ish. I'm willing to give it time for "break in" to see what I can eventually get, because i love this sucker!
