It seems that the ford salespeople are very much like the MFT/Sync: it's quirky in some C-Maxes, but just fine in others. I talk nice to mine, and haven't had too many issues -- kind of like what you did, rachel.

Nice service. Congratulations on your purchase.

Welcome to the forum. Another SD Max! What dealer did you use? Re the yellow light, I'm not sure. The only thing to the left of my volume knob is the emergency blinker button, and the door lock light on the right. Do you get the optional alarm? Maybe it has to do with that. Enjoy the car, and the forum.

Or, a the manual states, push the start button to turn on, push again to turn off, and within 3 seconds push the wiper stalk down. the wipers will come up and stop in the service position. Tried it, and it works.

We could have a contest with a prize (the first download the Sync update!) :) Re: Prii: Since I've gotten my Max, I can't tell you the number of those suckers I've noticed, sometimes 3 or 4 within a 1/2 mi. on the freeway. I do confess, I've always liked the look of them, and probably would have gone with one if I hadn't found the C-max (made in America, and all). And BTW: what the heck are we doing up so late prowling the forum? And a good night to all!

My nav system never shows up! Oh wait, I didn't order it! ;) This does bring up a question: do most people who have had really quirky problems with MFT have nav? I have had a couple glitches, but nothing as dramatic as what some people are reporting. Hmmmm....

"Had to do a double take but as it was a TRIP reading, I had no camera in hand." I was surprised to find that the "trip" reading stayed in memory. I had come home, turned off the car. A couple minutes later I had to turn it on again (don't remember why -- maybe just accessory), and when I turned it off, the trip reading was the same one I had just made. Try it tomorrow, and see if your previous trip is still there (have camera in hand).

I have a couple maxes in SD, but few and far between. Today I saw 2! The first was in an AVIS rental car lot (guess they are starting to make these available for rent). The other was in a Best Buy parking lot -- Ice Storm SE. I parked next to it, and went into the store. When I came out, the owner was driving away. Guess we're getting more popular!

I'm with you, Jus and Jaxon. Our temps here in San Diego are similar, and my trips always run 37-46+, depending on hills, etc. I have a lifetime (since 500) of 40.8. I think if i was getting mileage as low as malzo, my car would have been in the shop pronto.

Jus, like your new avatar/icon.

I've always had luck with my Saturns: an L300, Ion and Vue. I was bummed when they went out of business.

Don't the Sync voice commands work with the climate settings if you don't have MyFordTouch? I have it, and the commands work with it.

Ford Tech Response to Clock and Calendar Problems
roninsd replied to Generalbeluga's topic in Lounge: Off-Topic
In the link that Laurel mentioned above, it says that "automatic" setting of the clock, to gps, can be done in cars with navigation. Doesn't seem like it can be done in non-navigation settings. I don't have that capability with mine. Just have to manually change the clock when it freaks out. -
Happy days, Roggie! Anticipation ends, excitement begins!

Aside from not being the one to drive it the first hundred+ miles, I wouldn't consider it a problem. In fact, you might say they're breaking it in a little for you. However, I might ask for a few bucks off (wear and tear) :)

My experience with the EV/stopping matches Jaxon's. Unless the engine temp is still cold, when I stop (without the heater), the car goes into EV.

Coming to this forum every day (sometimes more than once) to see what's up with your fellow maximizer, and getting excited about what others are saying about their cars and mileage -- and the sickness spreads!

Laurel, your car is Canadian, right? That means it has to be nice to you. Don't worry, it won't let you down!

Speaking of long waits, hi Rachel. 13 days and counting until C-Day? Welcome, Mikey. Glad we were able to convince you to come over to the Max Side! You will read about the different problems that people have experienced; but noticce that with 99.9% of these people, they end their posts with: "besides this problem, I love it!!" I've thoroughly enjoyed my time (since end of November) with my Sterling Graymax, learning about it's all it's features, and how to drive it! I hope you have as enjoyable an experience.

Got a request from jd power to fill out a survey. Recompense: entrance into a $100,000 sweepstakes, and a crisp one dollar bill (included with the request). Can't beat that!

The colors of your fish match many of the C-Max colors. Pretty amazing. Maybe the designer controlling the colors was a grouper groupie.
