  1. Second day, took down to Oxnard Beach area and then to Camarillo where the fires were and it was errie. The GPS was 99% effective. A couple of right turns it was thrown off but self corrected within a second. It ain't 100% perfect but it is SO MUCH better than what it was. I am going to take it down to Pacific Palisades tomorrow, lots o-surface tight streets with lots of curvature and all, so it will be interesting. So far, I am very happy with the replacement.
  2. No such thing as "being stupid", we're all here to help and its no big deal cause we're quicker at typing and we have power of the community
  3. Here's the deal, if you know a gas station is 7 miles away, you're on a surface street and no load, it can be done easily. You can max to 12.80 safely, I've taken it higher but I also know my LIMIT. But you have family and load so it was the wise choice. No hurry, but the MAIN THING is that you are maximizing on the FE front so you're up there above the other drivers and I commend u for that, well done and see you next time
  4. tdefny, thanks for the history, didn't know that. yeah, the cmax has bigger tanks - which was one of my main reasons I got it, I needed the range. And you are right, I just want the owners and potential owners to see that the CMax will do regular 500+ mile tanks especially after all the BS about the sub 40s MPGs. Those who have been here say "yeah I done it" so post it up so others know what the regular CMax can do. Typically, those posters have some sort of state location under their username and it says "John from Ohio" can do 500+ miles, I am from Ohio so yeah, it is very doable..and oh look, heres Adair from MI...she can do 500+ miles...and the thinking changes to "wow, may be these drivers in the north east can get some decent MPGs.... I know I hit 500+ without batting an eyelid and where the fun starts for me is around 610 miles and above but I recognize its not for everyone to hit above 600. Lets see more pics of 500+ tanks! I have not seen anything about MPGe for us regular hybrids, we'll be lucky to run a mile or two on EV at 62mph with 50% batts, lol. Update reason...avoid getting :finger:
  5. Thats great orphoto :) Yeah, I always advice not trying for the 600 without a spare tank. Also, the 600 is not for everyone, or fit in everyones schedule or don't want to carry the spare gas. I always now carry it out of habit as I am all over the place with my appraisal work, just in case I cannot get to a Costco gas station. Also, it takes a while to get use to driving that low also. Look forward to adding your name to the 600 Mile Club when the weather warms up
  6. woah....what was I thinking in Rachel! Wow...it must have been those bad drinks I had last night.... Phew...saved by Rachel, thanks friend
  7. I do, I do...if the Prius had a bigger tank, I would be Jus-A-Prius. I will be clocking up my 8th 500 mile tank and be posting on toyotapriushybridforum.com. I can feel the  for me now..... I know, me bad... :redcard:
  8. No, no, no....get it RIGHT...4 days of a Prius rental so you get to know all the POWER buttons, sit face to face with the front wind screen, enjoy the thrill & luxurious high MPGs of the one and only Prius acceleration can give you and then last day with the CMax. If that doesn't convince u, then you and Prius were meant to be together forever in :wub2: and u proved it conclusively. We now return you to the normal CMax channel and hope this thread doesn't turn into another alien thread :runaway:
  9. One SD for the Nav card and there are 2 classic USB ports for the thumb drives.
  10. yeah but the drone stuff will add another dimension to your business, might be worth exploring...jus sayin' ;)
  11. Great, we've turned this thread into an alien implant discussion... :hysterical: Whats next...someone bang that button hard and make their CMax into a Dr.Who Tardis.... :runaway: :stirpot:
  12. Mate, you're Mr Puddle LED....how'about u pull the rubber and mirror a lil more and reporting back...
  13. In all the miles, I hardly ever use neutral to do a pure coast. Using "N" you may not regen but you also start to lose battery level as well especially if you have the HVAC on even with just the fan on (no AC). I just prefer to use the slope to regen my batts and keeping them high as much as possible. However, for those who are undecided - always encourage them to try it out and see what works for them :)
  14. Run the ole finger tips across the rubber area of the handle and hear it lock. Wallah... :wub2: that feature
  15. Hee...get with the times mtb, its drone choppers now with camera, ladders are passé.
  16. So do I... one Adair  Erh...this is the right section of the forum for it. I can't change the forum sub-section names, might have mod powers but not god-mod powers :)
  17. Well congratulations, another CMax owner and another potential 600 Mile CMax Club member ;) ...once you get over the hump on how to start the car... :hysterical: ...don't worry, happens to even us oldies as well ;)
  18. This is a long story but we'll keep it brief - the new CMaxs do not have this issue (built after Fen 2013), they have the latest software with a fix for this. Us early adopters have this issue because Ford has not release the software patch for this yet, it suppose to come soon. This is not a Toyota vs Ford issue either. By far and away, Toyota does not hold a candle to the My Ford Touch 8" screen with the voice command. Like any software, it has glitches and this, unfortunately was one of them. I also think I had a bad GPS component which Galpin spent 4 days to diagnose and fix, and gave me a free rental (which they were NOT obliged to do). That is Galpin Service and thats why we keep buying our cars from them. It does happen, its electronics and even when you buy a brand spanking new computer, for example, your wireless card may be bad. Its rare but it can happen so you call Dell support, they diagnose it and send out a technician to replace it. Also, forums are, unfortunately, a vocal point for everything bad about a car and its unfortunate cause 95% of the cars are perfectly fine. Nothing wrong with them. There was a thread started here which countered this Dont let this forum worry you :)
  19. Thanks mtb for the reminder :) Click on my Mammoth link, I think its the 1st Mammoth thread, or the 2nd one for the manual pg #. Easy to do and restore. Edit: pg 291 under maintenance
  20. ...because its cool and great  :wub2: it.
  21. Laurel, also I will add: check is your tire pressure, make sure its up to spec. Or like me and Matt, run it higher. Its the last thing most peope will do and they don't care unless they see a "tire" symbol on their dash...oh oh. Sorry to hear about it but I think its just a blip - probably bad fuel as +3 thinks.
  22. Pinned. Too useful to be lost among the other threads :)
  23. I first started the 600 Miles Club because it was an "unknown" territory way back in January and it was just ptjones and I. Now we have 5 members here who have achieved this landmark 4 months later... :happy feet: , abliet all of them in the red zone of our gas tank :) However, as Adair just recently posted - even doing 500+ miles a tank is a BIG DEAL threshold especially for all those in the colder temp states like the north east. So I am curious to see how many drivers here have done 500 or more miles a tank? And if you have, lets post up the pics for everyone. My thought is that at regular 500 miles or mid 500s a tank, its just a question of time before you break the next barrier...the 600 mile. Let's see 'em... :)
  24. Good to hear BobjusBob  Keep us posted on how this patch works and we got all our fingers crossed for u as well :)
