  1. frbill and I just connect as friends on Fuelly.com - how cool is it to see all his HIGH MPGs fill ups. Dude, you should be in the 600 club by now!!! C'mon ;) Great going mate, keep it up  &
  2. Not quite this time as I need to get my Trip 2 computer back and reset it for my Mammoth run this week, so this is all I was able to get thus far: Next run should be better.
  3. So here I was in the Costco carpark in Simi. I normally park away from the other drivers...jus so they don't ding my car and then I have to post in that "I'm Mad" thread...stay away, stay away... :drop: So I did my shopping, came back and this LOVELY brand spanking new dark gray Energi was parked next to mine...hee :) I had to leave but it would have been nice to chat with the owner. May be one day he/she will claim the picture if they find this forum & thread. And then on the 118 west, on my way to a job, I spot another brand spanking new CMax... 2 CMaxs in one day and it's not even over yet ;)
  4. Thanks for sharing your experience. Being in your Pac North, I would expect the CMax to perform. We had guys like Nick from the Seattle region and another guy on Fuelly from the same region clocking up some nice MPGs. Also, I really don't think owners/drivers understand how much the MPG will change with the engine breakin - as I try to document on my long Mammoth trips which had consistent miles and weather, you can see a nice gradual increase in the MPGs as engine started at 3K, to 5K, to 8K to 10K. I clock a ton of miles and Matt aka Recumpence clocks even more and I truly believe that those early adopters like myself who DO NOT clock as much miles are starting to see some benefit in the break-in and throw in some decent weather for an added bonus. Enjoy your CMax homestead, its truly a FUN car to drive who will reward you nicely with MPG if you want to hypermile or just drive it as a normal car and still get some nice MPGs :)
  5. I remember lucidly dreaming about some 5 day challenge...lets see...yeah, thats right...first 4 days rent a Prii and then the last day test drive a CMax, one way or the either...but then again I also remember someone waking me up...it was all very strange. Kinda like seeing alien faces inside my MFT...oh sorry, wrong person...WAKE UP ;) Seriously, I think that they will come to the CMax or they won't. It always amuses me to lurk and read on these Prii forums especially those over there whos driven a V and then they have to have the space and MPG - but the key they always acknowledge is the finer ride, tighness, quietness and comfort of the CMax. However, they'll always resort to the CR MPGs or the Fuelly average MPG for the CMax and tout the consistency of their own, disregarding the newness in the CMax released in winter and offer no explanation as to how others like myself, Matts or JohnnOhio and others are breaking the MPG far above the CR "street MPG" (yes, yes, temps play a role blah, blah, blah but Matt and John are on the east coast). I mean they barely make 500 miles a tank in a V also and the thread/posts shows the CMax has greater range and consistently breaking the 500s in our sleep (oh, yeah...we are suppose to be heavier, bloated focus if I recall, only offset by the 1-2 gallon larger tank but whos fault is it to have a smaller tank? Hmmh, let me think about that one....). To me 4 out of 5 ain't bad but I suspect they always wanted a Prii anyway so the CMax is always a curiousity for them. The darkside but thats OK, I luv the darkside, the stealth....a black CMax with tints is all that especially a mat Black custom with some carbon graphite trims....ooooh. On the flipside, we own and :wub2: ours. Peace & my 2c. PS Can't wait till the summer is here, watch the CMax fuelly line go thru the roof, mark my word
  6. :) congratlations Adair, woohoo! I was working late to finish up my last report... gonna be heading up to Mammoth for 6 days for our last ski/snowboarding trip :yahoo: Snow is still great  Looking forward to that long drive there and back. For me coming back is way more fun as going there seems to be a very, very, very long, long, long, long...did I say long? drive up the moutain. Crap...I better add RachelInLA as my Fuelly friend otherwise she's gonna bring up her Creole sized pan to clobber me ;)
  7. Ah...the world is becoming like FB all the time...so tonight I added Taz and Adair and dtorres as my friend on fuelly.com. Its pretty cool to see what all your friends are doing :) Mind u, I step back and I go "huh, what is the world coming to when we're watching your mates fuel up their cars." but then I think, thats social media, when Seinfeld becomes reality... :hysterical: Am I such an MPG ho... Do I get a thrill up my legs when I break the 50MPGs or your mates in the cold finally hitting a 47! YES :hi5: Cheers everyone and lets all friend up on Fuelly, since we :wub2: our Prii CMaxes. Ooops....I'll pre-empt Rachel.....Bad jus...bad jus :finger:
  8. Lets try this: 1. Click on your name on the TOP-LEFT menu link (see Red Arrow) under "Your Garage" 2. This will take you to the screen below: Now, in the red circle area, click on the "VIEW ALL BADGES..." link to take you to the screen to copy and paste the BBCode into your signature.
  9. This is what I did: 1. Take a camera with you, snap pictures of the Nav when it goes off course. It's easy to break - just turn 90* on the surface street. 2. Print the pictures in letter size paper and take it down to your Ford Service Advisor. Have them write it up as an issue with the pictures in hand. 3. Tell them to check out the GPS module and get that replaced. It will take 3 to 4 for them to do the replacement and test it (thats what it took on mine) so be prepared to have a loaner. I did that with Galpin and they had no quams about replacing my GPS and its been spot on since (except 2 rubber banding). Given that some 3.1.3 owners are having NO issues with their Nav and also replacing my GPS unit seems to fix the problem for me & joe, the only conclusion is that some early adopters got some bad batches of GPS. Otherwise, mine and Joes should stay broken after the replacement.
  10. Ah u :wub2: it... :) Aliens, nippLEs - par for the course. Next.... ScubaDadMiami - thanks for the laughs. Yep, everyones (CMaxs) got one :hysterical: &
  11. O'rely...is someone afraid to say "nipple"? Nipple...NiPpLe..nIPPle...NiPpLe.... :sing_rain: On a more serious note, I emailed my Galpin Service Manager, he's does not have any idea what that nipple rubber bit is either, He's searched the manual he did not come up anything. He thinks its a pivot point. If anyone has more success, let us all know what this NIPPLE thing is...or is that nipple...NipplE..... :hysterical: :stirpot: RachelInLA... :woot:
  12. Sorry to hear about your experience Laurel, if that was Galpin who owned that dealership, that guy would be out of there faster than a chuck from a bad stomach.....that is why my family stuck with Galpin Motor Company here in SoCal for all our car needs: the 3 Jaguars and now the CMax. They are attentive, extremely polite and courteous and they LISTEN to our problems with the vehicle. I recently had a smart-alex service advisor who did not listen and suffice to say that that was noted by management and they had his boss on my case, and I am more than pleased with the end results. I expect this from Jaguar but Ford, being less of a premium brand, I did not expect but still received top notch service and they went above with a free loaner as well :) We had 4 vehicles from Galpin, expect the 5th and more from them  Last time we had a thread on the service, Galpin came out on top as well but other owners :)
  13. I'm going to kick it up a notch here...this is becoming one of FAVE thumping, high energy mixes...TURN UP YOUR BASS  http://www.mixcrate.com/djorion310/top-40-club-mix-2012-122316 His 2012 Mix 2 is awesome and so is his 2011 Mix 1 & 2, :wub2: all of 'em and its a sea change to the the Hawaiian music that I listen to all the time.
  14. As a golfer, I really appreciate this ad - mind u, no right minded golfer would put their clubs in the front seat when the back seat is available, don't care if you have a $2K tour driver signed by Philly Mick. Thanks for sharing, cool ad indeed
  15. Gotta be careful back there, the batts are right underneath in that general area. Not sure how much cooling it gets from the airflow underneath. I think I saw it once when I went looking for the rear sensor that picks up our Ninjitsu kicks, didn't find it though. I always believe with the right terrain and temps the 700 was it. I still believe you can't do freeway and grades to get it though, sucks too much gas, even if you get a return on the backside of the grade, your gas is gone. I think you're closer to the 700 or making it possible than myself, there is no way I can run the canyons and grades which separate the 2 counties for the same high MPGs, high 49s to low 50s like 53 is possible with the right traffic flow but 700, you need 55MPG to bring that FAT baby home. Go for it. Hey, drop a Googlemap one day for it so we can see the terrain to have some sense of your travels, if u don't mind :)
  16. The Valentine 1 was impressive the last time I looked at those a few years ago, just could not get the money to pull the trigger. Sounds like they are still the leader, huh?
  17. Yeah..and if those nick the glass, ouch, not worth the MPGs. I still draft now and then but way back and I always check the semi mud flaps, if they don't exist then I am outta there. I'll tell u what, if I gave you the temps that I drive in, you'll shoot the 700 barrel easily. Someone from here has to do it...seems like the 600 is now so passé, lol. ;) On another note, I am finding more ways to improve but predominantly the route selection. Sometimes the short way is the least MPG friendly. I think we'll always tweak the techniques with this car till the cows come home. Makes it fun though, no more boring A to B driving for sure.
  18. Matt, that is freaking amazing, wish I had your terrain there. Good stuff :) I had a small run today, 24 miles (13.8EV) at 54.3MPG and then coming back, it was 24.1 miles (12.9EV) at 52.1 MPG, for an average of 53.2MPG. 70% 118/210 Freeway, temps were a wet and cooler 60F (or thereabouts) and up and down the Rocky Peak grade to Simi and back to San Fernando (for those who live here in SoCal). I'll take those numbers anyday with that grade climb on both side to Simi.
  19. Exactly. Boy, would I luv to drive the Energi for my work to see what I can squeeze out of her bigger batts.
  20. Nice darrelld, another fellow countrywoman with a great voice and can POP when she wants to  . Thanks for sharing :) Oh do check her duet with Tony Bennet, she puts on the north east/jersey accent, its quite fun.
  21. Gloff - welcome to the forum  and thanks for your insight...not bad for a "sales" guy :)
  22. There u go, another satisfied driver, good to hear the good news! Sure u don't want to test drive a Prii jus in case...not even a lil test one... :stirpot:
  23. Stealth bomber, jus by what it can carry and in silence ;)
  24. Look it up mtb, I'm not into 'em but apparently these things are making headwaves with realtors using them to show off air views of the properties.
  25. It does! If I step out of the car with the FOB in my pocketand the engine is on, it will toot the horn at you right away, and its happened more than a few times when I am at my job sites. So, how did u get around this?
