  1. Here the deal - we are a vocal lot. If we got all us early adopters to call our local dealers and Ford Customer Service, Ford -may- listen. U knew about the Irvine event in Feb, right? If we are to take away from that pow-wow, Ford is paying closer attention to their customers and this new car. It will be very SOUR and very poor thinking if Ford decides never to release the 3.5.1 to us early adopters of their CMax car. Mine is less than 4 months old - hell, we should not even be thinking like this....but if the worse happens...we are a hardy and vocal lot...a lot of people come across this website....hee...not that I am some :stirpot: or anything.... ;) Which part of SoCal are u in, out of curiosity?
  2. As one who has almost 12,000 mile on the CMax, I have been getting consistently > 40MPGs since the day I got it - even when I drive from the San Fernando valley to Mammoth Lake for our ski trips (round trip 570 miles with an elevation change of 500 ft to about 7,200 ft) and with the car FULL LOADED, I still average 40MPG or better. When its not loaded, I've done 600+ miles a the tank 5 times and tomorrow I'll clock another one. Do the math - which means I am getting more than the Ford stated 47/47 MPG average. My work as an appraiser means I drive in ALL the terrain in the Los Angeles and Ventura county here in CA and it ain't flat but we do have consistently good weather. So I, for one, can state Ford more than delivered me a 47+ MPG car. Now as you are from Ohio where it is more consistently colder due to some recent weather storms that swept the north east, the MPGs from the posters there (check out Adair), the MPGs have been more mid to high 30s MPGs. However, from what I am hearing, CMax drivers in Ohio are now seeing > 40 MPGs even with the slight warming temperatures. Take a look at some of the threads here recently from drivers from the north east, including MI and Ohio: http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/index.php?/forum/16-fuel-mileage/ You are always welcome to ask any question but alot of has been asked. Now, we are all owner-drivers here (some are dying to be owners as well when they are waiting for their CMax to arrive)...and we do ACTUAL driving so our testament to the Ford CMax, imo, would weigh more than someone who has the car for a day or a week and then shoots off their blog about a car they have NO SKIN in the game. Do we :wub2: our car ? You betcha and most of us probably think its the best thing since sliced cheese....I know, I do  Happy Reading and oh, Welcome to the forum :)
  3. No worries, I got #4 spot reserved for you. When it happens, make sure you take a pic of it, save it for prospectity! Man, you must be so itching to get your CMax - but at least you know you'll have the much-vaunted 3.5.1 MFT!!!!!
  4. altabrig, i don't have an ipod but I just use the usb so someone else will chime in here. Freezing screens and black out, I get this on and off....nothing much we can except do a master reset. As for the liftgate...take a look at this thread: http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/index.php?/topic/788-foot-activated-liftgate-is-intermittent/page-2 ...in summary, try kicking with the foot just under the bumper bar. It worked for me but as of now, there is no software patch YET (it's still in the works - the cause is a "sleeping" sensor which explains why its 1 or 2 kicks intermittentcy). Hope this helps...
  5. You're welcome and thanks for the support.
  6. Your brilliance & enthusiasm are to be commended, now....go make yourself a slushie from your username dude... :hysterical:
  7. With the Irvine Pow-Wow, I thought Ford was making some huge stride here with the customer service & relationship. It was HUGE. This 3.5.1 and TSB debacle and silence, it seems like the Old Guard is back in control....think Ford is due some Perestroika :)
  8. Wow, glad you're ok salsprint, sorry to hear about the deer and the CMax. Just give thanks its only money and fingers crossed the deer will be ok....
  9. Well I was away at Mammoth on my 5th trip with the CMax...wwoooweee.... ;)
  10. Ron, you're always on...I see ya post late at night...thats dedication and :wub2: man
  11. HVAC is mostly off but it is also dependent on the cabin temps. During Jan/Feb I don't need any hvac as the temps are high 50s to mid 60s, at most I would turn on just the fan and only when I am cruising on the freeway. This week, the needle was tipping 80+ and I have the AC on for some legs when I am on the freeway. However, when I am cruising the streets shooting comps, I have the window down anyway, make my life a lot easier and no reflections in my pictures. Now, when I have the wifey in the car and we're going to or fro Mammoth Lakes, she prefers the heating on vs the seats. I still see some pretty great MPGs with the heating on (I don't dare tell her "no" ;) ) So, imo, use the AC when the heat is on, I don't see any drop in my MPGs with it on vs off but may be thats the way I drive.
  12. Build a 4th level with a deck for the telescope to the stars and your garden. Hey.....one can hope ;)
  13. Well, u could move to Manhattan Beach....there are some properties for sale there u know....nothing like driving along there in your Prii :) OP - awesome, your car is so new, the wax on the leather is not even polished in yet....enjoy the car, forget the MPGs and just :shift:
  14. Absolutely, insurance policy lest I am too far away from a Costco pump. All - I said the warmer temps are going to cause a big shift in the fuelly.com numbers to the right (higher MPGs) but I'll predict, come next winter, the numbers will shift left only a tad because most of the engines will be well and truly broken in and I am big believer that the engine break-in does add quite a bit of MPG difference based on my documentation and notes. Have at it everyone - higher MPGS for all!!!! Yaaaaaahhhh!!!!!
  15. Welcome to the forum! We had one poster who had his CMax t-boned and it came up trumps in the safety department. The CMax is highly rated in the safety department and beats the V, look in the Article section, theres a thread on it. Anyway, good luck with your decision. I :wub2: mine, do tons of miles and use every inch of space in my Maxine
  16. Hmmmh....not sure bout that ;) OP - welcome to the website. Enjoy the read and you're probably all good in the FE department. Enjoy the posts and the pics
  17. Nice to see Jelly Bean off her cross country skis, no wonder your mileage is improving ;) Told yer, told yer, told yer  & :happy feet: & :)
  18. Hee....u are so ripe for the 600 mile club catsailor but I would suggest you add some beach towels cause you're gonna SWEAT if when you go past zero in the red. Well done mate  & :happy feet: & :)
  19. Thanks to dalebunker - I tried it with the foot real close - and 2 for 2!!! Onto something here as well...hey if this works....I'll take it....
  20. joe - please keep us all updated. I think u may be onto something here with the GPSM module. Mine was working fine at the start and then started to play up. Looks like there are some good 3.1.3 Navs out there. I'll wait a while before hammering my Galpin Ford about this. Lets see some more....
  21. Recumpence add to the 600 mile club!!!!!!!!!! Now there are 3..... :happy feet:
  22. Erh...I notice my Maxine gets hot but I run the ICE High MPG cause of the upslope freeway when I return from another county, typical for me. For shorter trips, yeah, its a bonus in the summer.
  23. Great find Rob, I'll add the link to the other thread once I get that thread pinned. :)
  24. We already have 2 "600 miles" thread (one started by me and one by ptjones - both of them ironically at the same time)...so instead of starting another thread, lets keep the stuff posted here as its more expansive: 600 mile cmax club Congratulations Recumpence :) , I've added you to the list. Now there are 3 of us. If you can post up some additional details like MPG and gallons used, that would be useful.
