mtb - u can run it faster than 62mph...there is a ICE High MPG mode in t, I found this manually (see my thread Eco Cruise vs P&G vs ICE High MPG) but Gen has found an easier way to hit this mode: http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/index.php?/topic/1434-i-have-found-the-illusive-mpg-sweet-spot/&do=findComment&comment=12028 It will work but unlike P&G it will burn gas all the time with the offset that it provides high to very high MPG numbers at speeds > 65mph. (sometimes dancing between 40 to 60+ depending on the road level) thanks to the battery assistance. It really does work but the catch is that you need a few miles to build the battery to a very high state and then do the trick that Gen wrote up about (its very easy but you have to tweak it for your own car). Hope this helps :)

With what you know, would you buy your C Max today (again)
Jus-A-CMax replied to catsailor's topic in General Discussion
Excellent catsailor...however, its different for me, I still tank up once a week like last time but I only pay for 12 gallons vs 15.5 gallon in the Camry (sometimes the Camry would tank twice a week if it had to climb the hills of Malibu). So I am saving a lil more, better handling car and more trustworthy car...and a big BONUS of an excellent, excellent Sony sound system....god, I :wub2: that system. -
By the way, I did not give you an F and I did not coach you...what you did here is through your own self perseverance, motivation, thinking and finally your own action - well done MTB! Pretty soon you will have some 50s come in!!! One of the things I want to emphasize to you and others - choosing your route and being an "expert" on the route makes a BIG difference, as much as 7 MPGs! For my example, and those who live around Simi Valley / Thousand Oaks know this intimately, there is a 23 and then the 118 curvature - most of this freeway is climbing a high hill and then levels out just before Madera (heaing east). Now, instead of taking the 23-118 curve - I decided to short cut from Olsen Rd (bottom of map) to Madera and then cut back to 118. I had less hills to climb (around Olsen only) but I took advantage of the terrain on Madera Rd for the downgrade slope of this longer road. Sure I added slightly more time to the drive but I was not in a hurry, hardly any traffic even at PEAK hour and it was a very lazy drive. Compare this against the 23-118 route were this is a bigger hill climb after the curvature - waste more gas < MPGs. So keep it up MTB....and congratulations again :)

Amen...nice simple post Rachel.

Wow...stunned still....surely you can break the news and give him the iPad....its would be like wifey telling the bar, only 1 beer a month....that would KILL ME. Funny 'bout that..I use to do the CB when I was 15...it was cool, had a Station Master what I drilled into the brick and hooked it all up, ran the cable down to my CB unit. That was the internet back then...I even had the CB in my first car. Bring back memories.... roger dodger...music was all the 80s pop rock. French music...whats that....lol.

Painted Wheels and Caliper Covers
Jus-A-CMax replied to mtb9153's topic in Accessories & Modifications
Hey...its one way to personalize the car. I don't like the black wheels myself and I could have easily picked my CMax out with one...GAS (Galpin Auto Sports) does all these customization all the time from the interior to trimming to wheels and custom aero mods on Ford, Jaguars...you name it, they do it. Speaking of which, I got a $100 card from them...not sure why but I won't say no so I am going to head down there to see what goodies I can pick up. I'll take some pics and post'em up for some of their custom work. They once souped up a 2011 Jaguar XJ, custom trimmed leather seats in a Pearl White but in matt...and that thing was to droool for.... One day.... -
Surely u jest...no computer, not even an iPad? I think u know what I am going to say next....a iPad for your dad next birthday. Gotta move that man into the current century...and being a ham operator he should take on the iPad in no time.

Oh crap..I said too much...got my fire extinguisher ready if the ears get too hot. U know, you should ask him to join the board...after all nothing like a father - daughter warring it out over a car on the internet for everyone to read...
-
That is just the start...soon you will be taking pictures of each TRIP screen...the temperature screen.....bawwwahhaaa...haaa....the assimilation has begun
-
As a side issue...has anyone got some ideas on how to "cool" these leather seats....my back keeps sweating on them...abliet I have the dark interior...I know, I know....
-
Now...won't it be COOL if Ford gave us the ability to track the MPGs by driver :)
-
Yeah...its a mess if your hubby drives the car and with NO memory setting  This was also mentioned to Ford at the Irvine meeting...what were they thinking with no memory seat....but luckily *I* only drive the CMax....wifey drove it ONCE in its 10,300 miles life.....yes, yes, yes....plus she will never understand hybrid :shift: either...

Jus-A-CMax replied to Adair's topic in Fuel Mileage
Young grasshopper needs to know which grass to eat before it can digest the whole field... -
Great find....yeah, that was the 1st ad. There was also another one with a girl in her mid 30s (in blue) talking about her White Platinum CMax....see if u can find that one...I didn't find it at that posting time. Cool ad though...one thing they should have said: Add all those people in a Prius V, run it up the hill and watch it die...lol....ah...joys of being cheeky... ;)

Oh c'mon...I need someone else to join the 600 club...Rachel?...there only so much I can take from ptjones in the same room... :runaway: j/k Jelly Bean does rule...I am sooo glad you have got decent MPGs after a few months ago it was poor and you were outstanding in your patience and understanding  -
Virginia is now taxing Hybrid car owners an additional tax
Jus-A-CMax replied to C-Maxgo's topic in General Discussion
I don't mind paying tax but when its miss spent ABSURDLY and then they come back each year with "its for the children...its for the firefighters...its for the teacher", I have a real problem with these outright lies....yep no one calls these ding bats not even the press which cease to exist. Yet, these low info voters keep voting these buttheads in each year...nothing will change until everything goes over the cliff. We now return you to your normal CMax channel where we have some lovely purple flowers growing on the side of the road.... :) -

Jus-A-CMax replied to C-Maxgo's topic in General Discussion
People deserve who they vote for...you're worried about a gas tax on hybrids....try living in good-ole CA...we have one of the highest gas tax aside from HI....and it doesn't get any more screwed up than this state...and the people here keeping voting for "more Sir".....what the hell am I doing here.... :angry2: Had to vent as well :sos: -
Fuelly is depressing...those low numbers really kill the party.... :banghead:

Jus-A-CMax replied to Adair's topic in Fuel Mileage
Well congratulations Adair! See it is possible...keep this up and we'll have to add you to the 600 club  Are u sure u don't want a Prius V instead...still get a good trade in on your Jelly Bean with low miles ;) -
Thanks everyone for your great input...I need to look into this much further. Obviously some great research and blogging here

Fresh out of College new guy wanting to buy C-MAX!
Jus-A-CMax replied to dkashlee's topic in Welcome
The White Platinum is AWESOME if I say so myself ;) Congratz to the OP and the new car buyer Snowstorm...so how about if you guys take the lead and notch up some stats to the mountains  -
I'll find you one day....I was travelling Los Angeles late this afternoon and I passed a White CMax turning left to Lewis as I headed towards Simi. I know there is a Candy Blue and now a White CMax around there.

mtb....I did not give u an "F"....I am not that cold...as much as I enjoy Mammoth... ....jus said u could improve, even today I got a few 65% brakes (damn lights at the bottom of a hill - gotta kill pill into my regen fun). You're doing well and that fact that you explained your driving conditions in the other thread made sense to me why your braking scores were too low. IMO, I don't use the brake coach at all...can't figure it out, I am a simple person but its way too simple and just buried in the menu so I just use EMPOWER to drive. Its KISS for me for sure... ;) What I will say is that you will get an "A" for effort for coming to the forum and asking for help to improve your MPG and you keep trying...you'll get there

Jus-A-CMax replied to catsailor's topic in General Discussion
Thats the Prius I use to drive, belongs to my neighbour though. Yeah it is possible but everything has to be right and there was some thread on another forum for people breaking this. Lil tougher with a smaller tank than the CMax but balanced by a lil less power which helps maintain the higher FE. In comparison, Maxine's best was 612 with 50.2MPG (I got a pic in the thread somewhere). ....reeling in...woah...this is a big one....reeling in....*sweat*.....BIG ONE....splashing.....a....JELLY BEAN... :)
