Hey I am an appraiser, I see a lot of things and gotta be quick too....in-n-out like Flynn.... ;) That white Energi got me a tad jealous, I always wanted an Energi but at that time I could not get one due to no stock and also it was way above my budget. However, contrast that with the fact that there is no way to get all our ski/snowboard crap into an Energi for Mammoth. Seriously. So I am happy with Maxine....till Gen 2 come along....or a Prius.... :sing_rain: -
That is a very good start. Now to break the 600 miles per tank, you have to hit at least 47MPG for the tank. Take a look at my fuelly stats to give u a better idea. This means u have to be frugal in your driving habits - no climbing ridiculous grades at 65+ mph, feather your EV (most people here would go 100% EV when in reality, you can probably do with 40-50% EV but keep an eye on your speed to check how much EV and yet, be wary of your traffic conditions. I always start in from zero in EV to about 10mph or 15mp and then kick in the ICE to get up to speed (some people here do the reverse as well) but thats based on my experience this is the most effective use of the batts (advantage torque) and gas. Also, KNOW your routes to maximize for EV and you will be willing to trade time for mileage. The latter is the hardest to do since most people are in the "gas" driving mode...zoom, zoom, zoom while I tend to relax to the music in the car and get there when I get there. This does not mean I do silly slow speeds either and freeways, I do 60-65mph or run the ICE High MPG if I know I have a long stretch of uphill grade (see what I mean by knowing your road). There is a TON of information here especially in the Fuel Mileage and Driving Habits section, go read 'em. Some may work, some may not and its what u believe works for u aka your secret sauce, that will get u your 1st 600 mile tank. So frbill, its a great start to hit 45MPG with less than 1000 miles on the tank but be patient  - and go get yourself a 2 gallon spare when your fuel gauge hit yellow (and some towels cause you're gonna sweat it as your "estimated miles go zero") ;)

I found this White Platinum Energi at home...Camarillo :) Silver CMax on the 101 heading south, this one was fanging... -
Woo..congratulations. I had a slight chip on my roof life with mine but a touch up paint, some paint sealant and wax too care of it. Cannot even find it now. I can see your Fuelly sig is gonna be upgraded big time. Enjoy your car :)

Software written in Redmond...that clinches it all.... :hysterical:

I dunno, I am speaking more with Galpin next week when I get back from Mammoth. I also raised the GPS module as well. Will let everyone know what happens when I get more news....

What's your favorite My View and why?

Empower 99%. Engage when I need to rapid pulse up a small hill (I know when to exactly back off after full EV power on). -
Don't sweat it Adair....everyone gets dinged by Fuelly - thats the fun of it. I have 2 x 32MPGs because of my long trip to Mammoth mountain so I'll be paying for it but I've been consistently high when I am not on my long haul to the fun weekends. It is what it is...just enjoy the current and future tank mileage :) By the way, your engine is still breaking in so look forward to more improvements. No one ever considers the engine improvement but my stats show real improvement.

Sweet - engine should be nicely broken in! Welcome to the forum and enjoy :)

So my MFT took another "performing scheduling" dive this afternoon - wonderful. I finally called Galpin and got my SA - hes kinda preplexed as well with the TSB and I am not the only one that this TSB did not work. What was really annoying was that I was using the direction and then it lead me to the wrong direction and decided to go into fairy land - just disappear, as if I never entered a destination. WTH.... I suggest everyone start bugging their SA and get them to bug Ford...just even with the people who replied to this thread can each call Ford and get them to release the 3.5.1, that would be outstanding...

Thanks Ron...could not recall the name of that grade. Its a ton of fun going down that grade though!!!! Full battery by Santa Rosa definitely!!! I have yet to hear positive about CMax's mileage. The other forum truly trash the CMax and yet none of them own or drive it like a few of us. My point is that with this club, 2 of us have hit this mark 5 or more time now - it's not luck, it can be done and cgul is about to hit his, just needs to trust his car. Soon even u will be doing this when the weather warms up - trust me on this one :) Its either u, rachel or laurel...one of the ladies have to be put up there in this club - - - can't wait :happy feet:

Almost!!!!!!!! I would not have worried, you're only on yellow which means you have at least 50 there, red comes on at about 15 miles for me but I know for a fact, I can keep going another 25 underneath it (as my post above shows). 1. Carry a spare gas. I always post my results with this warning. 2. With 1. u don't have to worry about running out of gas and with 2 gallons, thats at least a 80 mile range. I've never ran out of gas and if u read up, ptjones ran out at about a little over 13 gallon. The "miles estimated" is stupid so u really have to keep an eye on your Trip 1 gallons used. I think next time (with u carrying a spare gallon), its definitely doable - just don't burn a ton of gas like I did climbing the Conejo grade (thanks Ron for the reminder!).

For those who are not SoCal... Took this a few days ago when CHP totally shut down the 118 freeway due to 2 fatalities at 3:30 AM (at that time one could speculate alcohol or lack of sleep but the former is probably true) and diverted everyone down to the 405 south. I snapped this as I was coming down the 118 overpass ramp down to the 405...then the picture struck me...I do love the flow of the bridge and all and the traffic building up...pity I could not enjoy it as I stewed in the car...total chaos that morning... :nonono:

This is not something you would see too often...but I spotted this on the PCH one morning... Yes, that is a VERY, VERY expensive BRAND NEW Bentley (u can tell by the dealer plate) with a wind surfer strapped to the top. One would think this person could afford a SUV to carry his toy...but oh no....had to strap it to his Bentley convertible. By the way, this is another custom as well - note the matt black finish.
-
Which part? I might buzz by u as I drive between the 405, Malibu, Westlake Village, TOaks, Newbury Park, Camarillo and as far north as Ventura. Congratulations as well  You have lots and lots and lots of information to read and catch up. There are some real hidden gems of information for the mind and eyes for u to absorb so enjoy the site :)

I am lucky, I have a top class car with a great sound system that gives great mileage and how much do I trust the mileage? - I thought I would share this experience... I started the day with 4 miles in the miles left, red tank and TRIP1 reporting 578 miles on the tank. I needed to go to the gym and then I was going swing by Ralphs (to pick up some schnapps) and then off to the Burbank Costco to finally fuel up...I did the calculations and this was a 25-27 mile trip....this should be all possible with "4 miles left" on the tank....right ? So this is my run from home to the gym... I have plotted this on google maps numerous times before and it's a decent run. Looks flat, over a bridge from 118 to 5 and then 170 freeways and then a small section along Victory. This is the route I also use to test the eco-cruise vs P&G vs ICE High MPG thread. Then after the gym, this was my Trip 1 before I head to my 2 more stops: I should be sweating but I am not. Thanks to ptjones, I have a great idea what the limits of my car are and its not the 1st, or the 2nd or the 3rd time I've driven in the red...plus I know the road to my next few stops - got to head down to Burbank and then finally - Costco in Burbank....and this is my final stat as I sat at Burbank Costco.... This was the final Trip 1 tank before the fill up. My fill up was actually 12.823 gallons so that is a 0.295 diff between what was reported in Maxine as used, and the actual filling. If Ford is accurate, then I am still in a very safe zone with 0.67 gallons left with an estimated 30 miles buffering left - but I am not going to push it. I would cut it off at 13.0 gallons on the dot from Maxine's reading. Topography - flat, flat, flat. Temps were a nice 71*, no wind with light traffic. The gym to Burbank Costco was street at 35mph. Now, it's not always possible to hit the 600 miles per tank all the time and it depends on my jobs. If I had to climb the Malibu hills or hit Ventura, I would have tanked up instantly as I don't think the "4 miles" left would take me to the Simi Valley Costco, not with the Rocky Peak to climb. However, today was my day off so the timing was perfect. This is my 5th 600th tank and ptjones is also regularly hitting the 600 tanks as well so IT IS POSSIBLE TO MAXIMIZE YOUR TANK - with the terrain, driving habits and the temperatures are right. So far, its been pretty right for me and for my jobs. Side story - a couple of days ago, I thought I would have easily added at least 10 more miles but when you climb the grade between Camarillo and Newbury Park (for those who know this climb) and at 65+ mph, that is a real MPG killer. The temps in Los Angeles are always consistent and rarely cold except in the mornings - so I am lucky. PS Always carry a spare 2 gallon tank if you're going to push the max out of the CMax tank.
-
You're so lucky. Occasionally my wife would say..."hey buy any $500+ driver anytime honey, don't settle"........oh.......ohh....that was a dream...... ;)
-
Blue Candy is really nice, I was very surprised how good this car looks on the road, spot and passed one about a week ago...yeah...the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence...hope Maxine is not mad at me... :shift:
-
Boy did I feel that Zing....even sitting here in the corner with my lil ole Nexus....*takes some ice*... ;) Adair and Rachel and Laurel would also make great mods as well  ...oh the ice is for the chiro...she fixed my shoulder :) PS Ford TOUGH :salute:
-
I was wondering where the mods were...so far this site has done pretty good...we got a great bunch of posters here. I'll put my hand up for this...
-
Mine is weird...when I go to the gym coming from Galpin Ford, it would find the EV+ as I approached my gym. If I took my other route, it would not recognize it. Mark this as another "X" to a CMax quirk.

Nope, I am the opposite...when I had the car, I thought that if I walked away, the car would automatically LOCK. Nope, its no Jaguar (which did that automatically). I wonder how many times I left the car unlock...ssssh.- 11 replies
