  1. Yeah, I think the regen figure is basically how many miles less you would have gotten in EV if the car had no regen ability at all.
  2. Yes, w/ the C-Max SEL, remote start is the same as just turning the car on and letting it sit there. The engine will come on as the battery is depleted and turn off after it generates some charge. It tries to maintain around in the middle for the most part. If your buying the remote start to warm your car in the winter, then the engine will come on anyway to warm it up so it can provide heat to the cabin and in doing so will charge the battery.
  3. I have a '98 Ford Explorer and it has had updates to the Engine Control Module for certain reasons. I don't think this kind of thing is anything new, and will probably become more frequent as the complexity of cars continues to increase.
  4. Is there anything your not getting?! :) I would say take a look at Weathertech floor mats instead of the Ford ones, as they go up the foot rest higher. I have the Ford ones and do like them though. FYI, w/ the keyless entry keypad, you will not be able to lock your keys in the car and say go for a jog or something and then get back in your car with the keypad. Reason being is you can not lock the keys in the car.
  5. Did you try to climb up the snow to the peak w/ the C-Max like the guys on Top Gear did yesterday :)
  6. Oh ok, I misread and thought you said different version of MFT.
  7. I get that with the Firefox Aurora builds but don't notice an ill effects.
  8. Added software update as a possible resolution to the poll, just in case :)
  9. This morning, 49mpg, for a 20 mile commute, majority over 65 mph, A/C set at 70 degress, and it was 70 outside. (Also on the Superstition Freeway, one day we may pass each other Plus 3!) My theory with the acceleration on the streets is mpg is all about distance. So if I use gas to get up to speed in a short distance I'll have the EV to maintain my speed over longer distance. Otherwise, I would be using a large portion of the battery just to get up to speed and not enough to maintain my speed for as far. Of course most of the time in the C-Max, when you accelerate the electric and gas both work together.
  10. Mine is spotty. I've had a few problems with not finding POIs. I've never had a problem when entering an address, though I don't really do that often. I would say, 80% of the time, my NAV is dead on. The other 20 it puts me on the side of the road, usually a frontage road on the Freeway.
  11. I can always improve :) 0 to 10 in EV, 10 to 35-40 in ICE, maintain in EV, I might try it.
  12. I never take-off in EV, unless I'm close to my home in EV+. I accelerate briskly (but usually still slower than all the other impatient folks around me), and then attempt to maintain my speed by using EV. I also try to only use EV when I can maintain my speed at the first notch or half-way my total EV potential. I hardly ever use EV on the freeway, as I'm normally over 65.
  13. one downfall is in areas w/ no cell signal, unless you cache the maps to your phone.
  14. I don't disagree with any of that. The bias of other media outlets is also well established. And accusations that anything from News corp can't be trusted (which is the way I read the original statement, which I may have been wrong in) to me isn't fair at all. Instead of saying, hey look, News corp is responsible for this so don't trust it, to me is not fair. If it was, hey look, I found dissenting information, here it is then thats a totally different thing. Every place you get news from you have to have an independent fact check now days.
  15. By any chance did you try sync services? Their maps should always be up to do date since it's hooked up to the "cloud". Also, you can get a real live person to help as well.
  16. What I'm saying, is why is towing behind something any different than the car just sitting there not being used. I can not use my car for a weekend and it will start Monday morning. Sounds like if I towed it behind an RV for a weekend, it will not start. What's the difference in the car between towing behind something and just sitting there unused?
  17. Do you have any facts to back that up? I could make accusations that the people who disagree with the WSJ's claims are fabricating things for their intent as well.
  18. I got leather for the first time in the C-Max and love it. Easy to wipe clean with pet hair. As for the heat on the leather, nothing that Remote Start and window tint can't fix.
  19. Why does the battery die exactly? Because it's left in accessory mode when towing?
  20. A lot of people say this but I don't believe it. In my car, if its on, it doesn't matter if my foot is on or off the brake, pushing the button fully shuts down the car. If it's in accessory mode and my foot is on the brake, the button will start the car, if it's in accessory mode and my foot is off the brake, it will shutdown the car.
  21. Did you try deleting Sync from your phone as well as deleting your phone from the car?
  22. I haven't tried this yet, but I have it on order and have heard good things about it: Meguiar's Quik Interior Detailer Cleaner: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000AMLWH8/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B000AMLWH8&linkCode=as2&tag=calipso-20 Also, for quick exterior wipes in between washes: Meguiar's Ultimate Quick Detailer: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000RXNLK6/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B000RXNLK6&linkCode=as2&tag=calipso-20
