Actually with my car, I'm the one that got the name, not my car. My friends call me C-Max because my name name starts with a C, Curtis.

Mine is Nov, 7th. I just squeaked by.

I already have paint chips on my hood and in the glass :( I guess I'll need to get some touch-up paint from the dealer. Anyone know anything about fixing the ones in the windshield? They are very tiny, only about 1mm in diameter, so I'm not calling safe-lite or anything, but I know they're there so it drives me crazy.

I've had me SEL Cmax about a month & 4300 miles. Only averaging 33-35mpg
zhackwyatt replied to Jrust's topic in Welcome
BTW, I don't do any of those things, and my average MPG has been climbing, slowly, but climbing. -
When the car is powered off, Relays open which electrically disconnect the car from the HV battery. The 12-volt battery is required to close these relays to re-connect the HV battery to the rest of the system.

The battery is warranted at 8 years/100,000 miles. In California it is 10 years/150,000 miles. http://www.ford.com/cars/cmax/2013/warranty/

I don't know if you can tell anything from this picture, but here it is: http://accessories.ford.com/cover-10340.html

Turning Off The Rear Sensor Alarm
zhackwyatt replied to ArizonaEnergi's topic in Cargo, Hauling, Roof Racks & Towing
If you don't have the parking assist, there aren't any sensors on the front for when you get close. Surprised that they remove the button for the rear though. -
I truly think EV+ turns on when you enter a simple radius of around 1/2 KM. Doesn't matter from what direction or how you approach it, you get w/in that radius, and it turns on.

For me, I would much rather have My Ford Touch than not. I've had a few quirks, and problems with slowness have mainly been associated with the Navigation. Is it perfect? No. Is it as good as it should be? No. I also don't believe I take my eyes off the road more. If anything, I take them off to look at the Empower display gauge more than anything. It has a learning curve, but I wouldn't call it huge, and the only thing I find user unfriendly is entering navigation destinations via the touchscreen can be a pain, but most of the time I just use voice. I guess my point is, is you will never get a consensus on MFT. Now the base sync, on the other hand, has been around longer than MFT. Its pretty much all voice controlled. I have no experience with Non-MFT in the C-Max but have used sync not too long after it first came out and found it worked just fine.

Right, but my question and discussion was how exactly State Farm got this info from the car because the car does not have a 3G modem in it like OnStar cars do. I'm not sure where you got that quote, but from what I can tell, that's if you choose the InDrive module to plug-in. Using Sync, it simply looks at number of miles driven.

The car can connect to a Wi-Fi access point. I haven't figured out why yet. But you must do so manually, it doesn't automatically connect to them. I doubt that is being used for tracking because no one will ever connect it. Those with State Farm insurance are able to use sync similar to the progressive snapshot discount. http://www.statefarm.com/insurance/auto_insurance/drive-safe-save/sync.asp It says you need an active Sync subscription, so I'm assuming they are talking about sync services. Sync services requires a phone call from your phone, so every time you use sync services it must be passing some data back and forth??

Maximum amount of files that MFT can index
zhackwyatt replied to mikekoz's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
What order do you want it to play in? You can tell it to shuffle and you can tell it to play a specific album or artist. Also, (i've never done it) but I think you can create a play list and it will play off that. -
I very much doubt it was a, "look what we forgot to pull out, oh well let's call it a feature" type of thing. I'm sure it was purposeful to have it in the Hybrids. Has anyone turned it off for a tank to see what impact it has on FE?

Came with paint chips and proximity sensor of another color

Right, I definitely would have the dealer fix and they should do it at no cost to you. -

Remote Start Questions
zhackwyatt replied to CNCGeek's topic in Alarms, Keyless Entry, Locks & Remote Start
I wrote this up, let me know if it helps: http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/index.php?/topic/1167-2013-c-max-sel-ordered-1120-and-just-now-getting-vin/?p=8638 Also, there are only 2 remote starts, Bi-directional or Non-bidirectional. The reason you see 4 is because a different module needs to be installed in your car if you have push-button start (i.e. the SEL) or a normal key ignition (i.e. the SE). To the end user, it behaves the same. Your car will come with a keyless entry fob that will allow you to unlock/lock the doors. The remote start fob is smaller than this one. Also, AFAIK the C-max only has a perimeter alarm, meaning it will go off if any door is opened without using the Key or remote keyless entry. They also have dealer installed alarms (I don't have one so can't speak too much about it). I do not know if the "Vehicle Security system" as Ford calls it is compatible with the remote start or not. -
I really can't think of a reason not to have tint, other than the cost. I live in Phoenix, and got the remote start and the tint. A real good tint, not helps with heat, but glare and offer UV protection. My other car has had the same tint on it for 15 years and it looks as good as the day it was installed. Good tint with good install should never have issue. On my C-Max I have 3M Crystalline on it. Also have the clear on the Front Windshield to help with the heat. The hotter the interior of the car, the more work the A/C has to do to cool it which would decrease your efficiency.
