Is Ford phasing out the C-Max Hybrid?
stevedebi replied to ChrisMax's topic in Buying, Order and Leasing
Well, in some ways they would be just as well off with only the Fusion. I've been thinking the same as you since last year. But I think as long as they are producing the vehicle in Europe, we may be OK. But really, a Focus hatchback would be lighter and fill similar role. Not nearly as nice as the C-Max in my opinion, but lighter and more fuel efficient. -
Ah. I found that page. I think mine was set that way by default. I never set it.

I can't seem to find that in my 2014 owner manual. I figure it should be on page 96 with the setup screens like traction control. Do you have a page number? Mine has always unlocked the rear doors when I touch the front door handles.

Sorry, I think I misread your post. Mine is an Energi built on 3 July 2014, and yes, it unlocks all four doors when the front is unlocked.

Mine has problems with it being about 200 feet off, but only when going north south. East west seems to be accurate. I plan to take it in for this when I get time. It is an intermittent problem and doesn't always happen, or it corrects itself.

Could be because all the Energi have the keyless entry / starting? That would have a different electronics set up.

I think that TSB on the transmission is affecting the ones you are mentioning, rather than it being something wrong with the entire design. Ford has been doing the hybrid transmission for 11 years now, with the same basic design. I figure something got messed up in some of the production, so they issued the TSB, but I doubt that all the cars will be affected.

The upgrade is to the "A6" maps, which are the latest. It will not help any issues with the car turning ways you don't intend. All it does it add the latest map information. You might try checking the settings on the nav - there are some specific settings for "eco" modes, and that sort of thing that might be changing the routing.

My 2014 Energi requires unlocking the front doors in order to open the back doors, if you mean touching the handle. You can use the FOB to unlock all doors - just push the unlock button twice.

... and the relevant new car warranty is 8 years / 100 K on the CVT.

The Energi charges the 12V from the HVB via a converter, regardless of the mode the car is in. There is a thread over on the Energi forum where we are waiting for someone to explain their statement that we should use a trickle charger periodically. So far I've not read why that might be true. I think yours is the highest mileage I've seen on a C-Max Energi.

Oh, you want a digital number. I thought they had removed the scale. Yes, I think you would need an OBD port monitor of some kind for that one. Ford seems to want to hide it, even thought the scale shows the approximate value. I do think that the scale shows the instant MPG; it appears to vary similarly to other vehicles I've seen. Engine load is directly related to MPG. My beef is that I find myself mentally converting that scale to the actual numbers.
-
Wait, the Empower screen on the left hand display doesn't have the instant MPG? I've not heard of this before. Did you check the display settings? I believe it can be turned off.
-
I believe the 2015 has the "driving coach" screens available on the right hand driver display. Some people use this to get their driving better. It has three bars - for braking, acceleration, cruising- and if you keep these in the blue color, you will be driving the way the Ford engineers believe will yield the best MPG. You might want to keep that screen up on the right, and use the empower on the left. The "empower" screen has a sliding square guage that indicates at what point the engine will come on. On 2013 and 2014, this coaching screen was only available on the left hand display.

Do you count C-Max Energi? I'm 57.

When open. It is so hot here in SoCal that I don't open it that often. It is raining today, so I have it open! Some folks have tinted the roof, I'm still thinking about that.
-
I have the pano roof, and would not have ordered it except that it came with the vehicle color I liked. If you really like the interior feel with the pano, by all means to with that. But I think the 2014 is a better deal.

The transmission issue is any time, not just ICE use.

Kind of makes me wonder. I've managed to get into the clipper creek L2 charger at the mall twice. Both times when I got home and plugged in, there was a charging error, and then the vehicle charged normally a couple of hours later. But both times were on a Sunday, and it was also pretty hot in the back yard. Is this DTC persistent or does it reset?

Strange, long wooooo sound at steady speeds, ICE on
stevedebi replied to Alex Sams's topic in 2013 Ford C-MAX Hybrid
Ah, thanks. Yes, it sounds like it is time to get a buy back. -
The "In Stock" listings at most dealer sites include cars ordered by Ford but not yet delivered. I don't know if they are en route, or just ordered. But it doesn't mean on the lot.

I'm sorry, I could not tell from your post if they tried replacing the microphones? -
Pretty funny, since the car pictured is a 2014 - they dropped the Ice Storm Metallic color for 2015. Unless they added it back, they are using pictures for the C-Max from 2014.
