I look for a Ecosport hibryd next year.

The hybrid's mpg is around 38 according to Car and Driver, I can live with that.

I just replaced mine and the total cost was about $150. In 2014 there was a latch recall OP might want to check and see if their car was serviced.

Hi Scott! I don't know if Ford knows what's next. I've heard of a escape hybrid as early as April 2019 and I've heard it won't happen until 2021.
