666 I got a call today with a Fed Ex tracking number saying my cheque is on the way. Timely as we traded in our C-Max two days ago for a Lincoln MKC. Actually the MKC is easy to adjust to as it is very much like the C-Max in many ways. It is a little higher off the ground and a little bigger inside, but the MyLincolnTouch is identical to MFT. The only huge difference is the gas guzzling LOL. However, for my husband with his weak right hand the MKC is a Godsend with the push button gear shifting. But the MKC is lovely, but we paid a lovely price. So God willing we will keep this one forever.

666 based on your comments, I have phoned yet again! I did follow Rachel's phone numbers this time. I was ready to give up by the time I got through with today's call. Very nice man (in Florida and not Canada). He went through every call that I have made and tried to follow what had happened--in the end nothing! He noted I gave a change of address in July, but perhaps the change of address was not sent to the section who issues the cheques. So now I have a case number, and if I haven't heard anything in 2 1/2 weeks I should phone back. I think I am up to half a dozen calls or better.

I called again today, and really got no answer other than they are looking into it. I have generally had very pleasant women trying to help, but I do not remain optimistic of receiving the check. Ashley I did not see your response before I called today so I used a different phone number. I will send you my VIN later.

Vancouver, BC. 4 Nokian tires on rims for sale $800
Laurel replied to Laurel's topic in C-MAX Parts for Sale
I'll miss the forum too. It is one of the best around. I think the Lincoln MKC will be a good fit for us. My husband has a weak right hand due to a neurological disease and the push button shifting will be easier for him. I did worry about the cost of fuel, but we really put so few miles on our cars that isn't a huge consideration. I think the C-Max is a wonderful high end car. . Really the Lincoln MKC feels a lot like a C-Max (probably due to the genesis of the product being based on an Edge). Also my husband wants more technology --I think this is due to him getting older (not me LOL) and a person needing all the help they can get such as lane departure warning, blind spot warning, adaptive cruise control, crash warning etc. He worked hard all his life, and I feel that he is entitled to spoil himself now. We did toss around keeping our SEL and going back to a two car family, but we decided in the end that I can rent a car for those rare occasions when I want to head out of town with the girls or go to visit friends that he doesn't want to go see. I'll let you know how the wheeling and dealing goes for trading in and buying. I have a customer coming to look at the tires this afternoon as I posted them on Craigslist too. He says they will fit his Volvo. The customer for the tires offered $500 and I was horrified and said no. So they are still available. -
Vancouver, BC. 4 Nokian tires on rims for sale $800

Frank it is Canadian dollars--so for an American it is a super deal as the Canadian dollar is at about 90 cents or less. Hubby is getting a Lincoln MKC with all the technology he has ever wanted. Seems a nice vehicle but for sure I will miss Tip. Happy Thanksgiving all you fellow Canucks! -
We have four NOKIAN Nordman 4 98T XL 225/50R17 winter tires, and 4 rims 17.7.5 5/108 CRA Impulse Silver +40. We bought them Oct. of 2013 and were used for 4,000 K (2400 miles). They look brand new with almost no wear. TPMS sensors. They should fit Ford Focus and Fusion as well as the C-Max Hybrid. We paid $1984.90 for them. We are trading in our C-Max thus we won't need them this winter. They were purchased at Kal Tire and the service agent there describes our tires as "a very nice package that should sell well". This is a good deal for any British Columbia or North West Washington C-Maxers. You have to come here to get them as it is too costly to ship them.

I have phoned 3 times concerning the second check. Each time they are checking into it as they do not know what happened to it. I guess I should phone yet again as it is now 2 weeks since I last phoned.

I am guessing Lexi is a fair bit larger by now. Glad she is "an excellent dog". She is lovely.

Taylor you left out the most important fact! What is her name and how old is she? And is she a very good girl? Nice invention. We only have a wee senior named Tinker so she sits where she likes and is quiet as a mouse. (Of course she wears her seat belt while traveling).

Seat heater not working after seat back recall
Laurel replied to DaveofDurham's topic in Maintenance, TSB's & Recalls
Our seat heat was working after the recall was done, but the lights weren't. However now they are so that makes me happy. Something probably jiggled loose, and may jiggle loose again but for now it is working. -
Wow what a saga with your car dmk2000. Glad it is fixed. Maybe an unhappy employee put the rouge bolt there?

What is a platinum membership? I just saw the explanation. Still don't see the benefit of spending the money?

ScubaDadMiami your comments are interesting. First of all both my husband and I far preferred the non leather seats in the SE loaner. We both commented on the comfort and breathability in the material when we had it yesterday and said we would far prefer it over the leather. It was much cozier feeling than the slick leather. I don't feel too comfortable about the re-programming of the GPS either. The service agent wouldn't even write down my comments when he was filling out the work order and I mentioned that he didn't write it down. I told him that we notice being off route when we program in destinations versus just having the navigation on. He pooh poohed what I said, and said "oh they will check everything". Our experience says "I doubt it". I was torn about making an issue when he wouldn't write down my comments, but I let it pass. I told my husband next time I would tape a list of my comments inside the car on the dash so the technician would see it. But I will be peeved if I have to take it back, and I will push for a free loaner if that is the case.

I got Tip back at 3 PM. Not bad Ford. The report says they re-programmed the GPS Module so hopefully that fixes the off route situation. We took an MKC out for a spin (once the seats were adjusted, the head room was okay). Drives nicely for sure. Hubby is thinking about whether to trade our Tip in or not. We shall see. I do have a question mark about the re-programing as I did not lose any of my favourites so I am wondering if they did re-program the GPS?

I dropped Tip off for her recalls this morning, and also requested that they deal with the off route icon issue with the nav. system too. I got a $20 a day loaner which turned out to be a 2013 SE. Pretty funny my ineptitude with getting used to a new car that has a key versus keyless entry, no kick feature for the rear hatch, no nav. system, no backup camera. For the first 5 minutes I was totally flumoxed. LOL. But I actually like her now. She drives nicely and is basically the same as Tip. I did briefly go sit in the Lincoln MKC. I promptly hit my head getting into it as it just does not have the clearance and head room of the C-Max. I called hubby and said, "scratch the MKC as I have a headache from whacking my head". He couldn't believe it was that bad and suggested that I have a swelled head--funny guy. He will try the MKC when we go pick up Tip. I'm curious to go sit in the Edge now too. Supposedly they will have my car ready by the end of the day. We shall see as last time they said that it was two days before I got my car back.

Congratulations on the C-Max. We have enjoyed ours. Now to the Cube LOL. They are so cute. I'll be curious to hear some reports on what you thinks of her Cube down the road.

Next time come and see our new house. We are literally withing walking distance of both Peace Arch and the truck crossing. Forgot to say we have a big guest bedroom in the basement with private entrance and you would be welcome to use it as a home base for sight seeing.

We sure have a lot of funny fellows on our forum. Really this is the best forum going.

It is my husband that is getting blind and deaf. I still have all my hair and all my senses in tact LOL. I think deafness comes with baldness.
-
Tip is a pretty girl isn't she? But hubby is continuing to cringe over prices of getting more technology. One thing that he and I argue over is his like of Volvo SUV's. He has been sold on them since he had a test drive in one where the salesman demonstrated the feature where the car stops if a pedestrian steps in front of the car.

We still don't have our cheque. I phoned Ford Canada a couple of times with no real answer. This time I got a very nice woman with an American accent (who confirms she is in the States so I guess there is no real Ford Canada eh?) who has tracked my missing cheque and will have it re-issued and then phone me with a tracking number. I guess my cheque was somewhere in the Bermuda Triangle.
