  1. That Jelly Bean! What a stellar little car.
  2. If I was the queen of Ford, I would have separate dealerships for hybrids etc. Before we bought we inquired about the reputation for our dealership and basically it was stellar. However the respondents were all non-hybrid owners and generally were driving Ford pickups and SUV's.
  3. I just don't understand how the dealerships can be so poorly informed about the C-Maxes. When we ordered our C-Max we had a whiz bang sales woman who had participated in training sessions with the C-Max. By the time our car arrived, she had left Ford and we encountered indifferent sales people with zip in the way of knowledge about our car. Thanks goodness for this forum as this is where we learned to drive the car so to speak. We had the panorama roof scenario too LOL.
  4. Thanks Paul! Looks like something we could use.
  5. I think this is a complex issue with complex problems within Ford. Somehow they dropped the ball in other ways than the mileage issue with the C-Max. We saw minimal advertising in western Canada, two local dealerships had little in the way of informed C-Max sales people, poorly informed customer service reps. in local service departments concerning C-Max issues. We were not in the least bothered with the mileage issues, but we were very bothered by lack of knowledge at the dealerships concerning C-Max issues. I noticed yesterday at our dealership that there is not one C-Max on the lot or in the show room that we could find when we walked around looking for a Lincoln SUV. It is like they have written off the C-Max as a marketable product. Scary eh?
  6. I think ours was similar to nsteblay's. Same rationale for buying as his.
  7. I think we would be inclined to keep our C-Max for longer but it doesn't have many things that my husband loves such as heated steering wheel, memory for seat positions, adaptive cruise control are the big ones for him. And I want that feature where the car recognizes a potential collision with tightening of the seat belts and brakes being applied by a computer as that saved our lives in our Lexus on the LA Freeway a few years ago. For me I was put off with dealing with Ford. Before buying we did ask a couple of people at the dealership if they were happy with the service and we got glowing reports. We found them to be the most indifferent dealership we have ever dealt with. When telling them about My Ford Touch issues they look at us like we are nuts and when we talk to them about mileage they are clueless. They still think that our C-Max can get 4.7 L per 100 kilometers under all conditions, and tune us right out when we talk about factors that influence mileage such as air conditioning. No wonder they can't sell any C-Maxes there. One other huge issue for me is that the frame of the car sits way too low to the ground for going onto any back roads for summer holidays. The car is like a little SUV in many ways --other than that too low to the ground issue which is a big flaw in my books. However it is the most comfortable car that we have had in recent times in the sense of seat comfort, head room, and the whole MFT has been fun but crazy making too. Too bad they can't get the bugs out of it. We still are debating in a small way whether to keep the C-Max as a second car due to the hit we will take on it. But we really rarely need two cars these days so that is not too likely of a scenario.
  8. I think the resale has already tanked. Hubby is looking at trading our 2013 SEL with Pano roof and only 9,000 miles on it and the Blue Book is quoting $18,000. We paid over $34,000 for ours. This is not making husband very happy. He is going for an Acura MDX Elite with all the technology. I will miss our C-Max in many ways, but I think we were too quick to jump into buying a first year car.
  9. Like: Easy entry into car without hitting head Dislike: Not quite enough cargo space
  10. Kostby that is a brilliant idea! Thanks. It is a Sea Eagle catamaran kayak--pretty big. The foot pump works well but on a hot day it is tiring.
  11. Thanks for the answer. I guess I will have to use a foot pump. Darn.
  12. I would like to use the auxillary AC outlet in my SEL to pump up an inflatable kayak. The pump is http://www.costco.ca/AIRHEAD%C2%AE-SUPER-PUMP%E2%84%A2-Air-Pump.product.10334327.html The pump says something like draws 7.1 A/917W, and the owner's manual says maximum 150 watts for the plug in receptacle. Is the pump going to draw too much power to use with the SEL?
  13. Marc we have the grey Weather Tech mats. We have the stone interior and I think they look fine. Better than the tan in your photos. And I think the black would be okay, but maybe not as good as the grey.
  14. Holy smokes Marc! Were you scared?
  15. That is interesting i.e. that there is an Edsel II. I guess he must have had a lot of teasing in his lifetime.
  16. It is small goodwill gestures that create life long customers. Come on Ford step up to the plate and give these new owners an A5 card.
  17. That is just poor public relations! That sort of lack of good will with a new customer who spent nearly $30,000 is unacceptable. I can see that policy with us oldies but not with a brand new customer. That stinks.
  18. Glad that it helped shinytop! When we first got our C-Max, I was out sitting in it and going around the block endlessly. Have fun with your new car.
  19. Try saying "navigation, voice guidance on". Who knows it make work even though you say you have selected voice guidance on in the settings. I am not sure what you mean voice bubble? I believe you can set it up for voice guidance or tones, but both don't happen at the same time in my recollection --it is one or the other. Good luck.
  20. I'll look forward to seeing them down the road Paul.
  21. Hey Jus, don't call the lovely Maxine "Lemon". She has been a good car--it's the a**hole driver that hit you that caused all the grief.
  22. Paul do you have a photo with your bike rack? Thanks.
  23. Just saw some contestants of the American Idol finale driving around in a Ford C-Max Hybrid, and it was the same colour as mine i.e. Ice Storm. They pulled over and got out and used the kick to open the rear hatch. Good for Ford for buying time on Idol. That should help sales!
  24. Rebecca I think we have done the master re-set once before because I remember the ordeal of losing our favourites. Wish there was a way to copy and save them before doing the re-set. Thanks for the advice.
  25. Hi Rebecca, I have pulled out the SD card and re-inserted that. Is that a master reset? If not, I am game to do it if you tell me how. Thanks.
