Wow! I really like it. I think that is the best colour that I have seen. Can't tell but is the interior black or stone? Congratulations.
-
RMS13 my husband wanted me to order Ruby Red, but I was set on Ice Storm. I hope that I actually like it when it arrives. I don't mind pale green as I have a pretty vivid green Smart Car named Pickle.
-
Thanks dtorres. I understand finally. Scooter I am waiting exactly one week to ask cyberdman to check my order which will be this Thursday. It seemingly was built Nov.8th so I thought it might take about a week for it to get on a train.

Who would have believed this? http://www.hybridcars.com/news/ford%E2%80%99s-ev-thinks-where-you-are-going-60306.html

No smart phone Darrell. I think I feel a joke coming.

How much are navigation upgrades?
-
Thanks Darrell, but do you remember Princess Diana saying she was "thick as a plank"? Well me too! I have watched all of those youtube tutorials and still haven't grasped how they interact or why I need both. Sorry to be such a dope.

I found this http://support.ford.com/sync-technology/sync-services-overview-sync-myford-touch#reload But I am confused about MFT and Sync too and don't understand the whole concept of what they are. Can someone please explain what they are and what their differences are?
-
Maxine is a very good name. Tip might not suit when I meet her.<g>.
-
I am embarrassed to say that I assumed that MFT was something that we didn't have to pay for--other than upgrades down the road. I will be keen to hear what others say.

Que sera, que sera! I think it is important to get exactly what you want as usually we have our cars for a long time. I think the lighter upholstery is more uplifting. I am hoping that the Ice Storm is what I am expecting it to be. Only 2 or 3 weeks more to wait!

Rachel are you okay? You mentioned buyers remorse and not sleeping. Hope that all is okay with you and your new C-Max. Car buying is stressful.

I can't get the link to work.
-
Today in our big city newspaper there was a full page article written by an auto reporter. Headline was "Ten Best Hybrids". Nary a word about the C-Max! I find that down right strange. I sent the writer an email asking why the C-Max was not mentioned. I'll let you know if I get a response. No sightings of any C-Max's in Vancouver, B.C area.

Anyone noticed a problem starting in Reverse?

Aschofer does the owner's manual make any reference to your discovery? I am trying to store all the info. that I read here for when my C-Max arrives, but there is a lot to learn obviously--maybe some of these are first generation glitches? -
I felt pressured to give Tip her name as her build date was Thursday and I felt she needed a name on her build day. Hubby came up with The Ice Princess and I shortened it to Tip. I like Elois as a name as it is friendly and solid. I've driven into several Ford dealers trying to find an Ice Storm--no luck--so it nice to read your description. The inventory of C-Max's around here is zip. Seems many dealers got one about a month ago and they have sold the first one and they haven't got any more in yet. The big Ford ads in the newspapers are still not advertising the C-Max, and I guess that is because they have no stock. Maybe when Tip comes on the train they will have a few on board for the dealers.

Forgot to mention that the first sales person we talked also said it would play DVD's. Ford needs provide some education to the dealerships as it is quite off putting to get wrong info.
-
My husband read through the audio info and he thinks that it says that if you have down loaded a DVD on your ipad or ipod, you can play it on your own device while in park with the proper cables hooked up to the C-Max audio system. He couldn't find anything about actually playing a DVD.

Thanks Crystal. When you order a colour without seeing it, it is nerve wracking. With your name being Crystal, Ice Storm sounds like a match to me. I have already named my car sight unseen--The Ice Princess (Tip for short). My Smart Car is a very unusual green and I call her Pickle.
-
Crystal I ordered Ice Storm based on the dealer brochure, and I ordered the stone coloured upholstery. I'll let you know what it looks like in real life when it gets here--supposed on November 26th. Interesting about colour choices as I looked at Canadian dealer's inventory and Ice Storm was quite rare here. However in Eastern Canada there were quite a few. I did not find any with the lighter leather. So I guess light leather is not popular. Hubby has a SUV that is white with black leather and I find it very blah.

Rachel it sounds like you did well with your negotiating. Here there was no price negotiating and a top of the line SEL is roughly $36,000 after you pay all the taxes etc. You did well!
-
You lucky duck! You already have yours and some of us have at least two weeks to wait (ordered mine Oct.5th). I was waiting for your post and hoping we hadn't built it up too much--fearing you might not like it. What colour? What model? How was the sales person? Did you get a briefing on all the features and the Myford Touch etc?

Valkraider it is so interesting to read different perspectives. My husband loves technology and buys as much as we can afford. I am the flip side. I bought an e reader and hate it as I just missed holding a book. So my e reader collects dust. I get annoyed when people in restaurants all walk in carrying various communication devices and are texting etc rather than talking with one another. At church I cringe when people pull out iphones with Bible apps--totally tuning out the minister and people around them. None of that bothers my husband at all. I do get a bit nervous where all this is heading. Just yesterday I noticed how addicted my friend is to her iphone i.e. leaving it on while we were visiting and eyes flickering nervously toward it everytime it sounded a call. It reminded me of a edgy crack addict. I liked all the C-Max technology but would have bought it without it and would have enjoyed the car just as much. I actually felt a sadness when you said you communicate with "text, instant message, facebook, or other means". It sounds so lonely. And I know that makes me sound so old <g>.

I guess it is unlikely that anyone is using a higher octane than 87 if that is what the manual recommends. But it would be interesting to see if performance improves with mid grade 89.
-
http://www.edmunds.c...est-specs1.html I see in that report they used 89 octane. Do you think the wide range of miles per gallon that people are achieving is due to people using different octanes of gas?
