  1. Hubby wanted me to ask what octane gas you all are using in your C-Max. We will be getting ours in about 2-3 weeks. Thanks.
  2. I ordered my on ebay on Oct.31st and haven't received it yet. Hope they don't bend mine.
  3. Scooter I find it interesting too. I am not too surprised though. When I bought my 2011 Smart Car, it had a lot to do with its high seating position. I test drove so many cars before buying the Smart Car and could not believe how many had such low seating. I would go into a dealership after reading about a car and go sit in it, and due to low seating position I would eliminate it immediately. I had several sales people shake their heads when I said I had no interest in driving the car as the seats were too low. I really like my little Smart Car, but my husband dislikes it and never drives it. He finds it cramped and head jarring going over speed bumps, and the vision through the front window is obstructed for him due to his height. It gets great mileage and has lots of great features--plus it is very cute. I will miss her. When we test drove the C-Max as soon as we opened the door with the wide entry where we didn't bang our heads and found the seats sitting up nice and high, I was almost sold on the spot. I can't believe how many car makers ignore the seat height issue. I live in a townhouse complex with everyone over the age of 45 and I hear so many comments from people disliking their new car a couple of weeks down the road as they didn't realize how the low seats would turn into such an issue. There comes a time in ones life when a racy little MGB GT sports car loses its charm.
  4. Well the reviewer did say that Prius was coming out with new things that he couldn't talk about, but he wrote on his hand 60 mg per gallon--so I guess that will be part of the 2015 Prius features.
  5. Thanks for posting the video. I liked the humour that the fellow showed.
  6. Thanks for letting us know how the C-Max handles the snow without snow tires. The more I read the more impessed I am with the C-Max.
  7. From my reading (hope I read correctly), it is on the front center console below the climate controls to the right --hidden by the gear shift lever. A video I watched said that the driver looked forever before finding it there.
  8. redEV that is another new fact for me. I did notice the lines when backing up on the demo and how they turned with you which I thought was cool, but didn't know you could judge distance with them.. Can't wait to get my new C-Max as I do have the camera.
  9. Rachel you will be very pleased with seat height. Seat height was one of our big criteria for buying a new car. I eliminated a lot of cars because of them being too low and awkward to get into. We were delighted with the seat height in the C-Max and how you don't have to wreck your back and bump your head getting into it.
  10. Rachel let us know what you think after your demo. Forgot to say that the push button start only comes with the SEL, and that might be a feature people want if they are getting arthritis in their hands or worry about less hand strength with aging. I know that that was a consideration for us. Gotta plan for these golden years <g>.
  11. I have been reading this forum for the past six weeks or so. After reading each and every post from new C-Max owners, it jumps out at me that people need to carefully review the features of the model that they are buying. It seems that some people have been unclear about what comes with the model that they have purchased, and then they are disappointed that they don't have an upgraded feature. One of the items is the hands free feature where you just kick your foot under the tail gait to open the rear hatch/door. Yes, with the SE it will open automatically when you push a button inside, but the hands free only comes with the SEL. Another thing is the DVD feature which is only available with the SEL. The upgraded sound system is only available with the SEL. The back up camera comes with SEL as does the Myford Touch. It seems some people are adding on various things that they are missing such as camera or better speakers etc. So I think potential buyers should really think it through about which model to buy. When were were at the dealership taking our demo ride, we found that the salesperson knew less than we did about various features since this was their first C-Max and we had been reading about the C-Max for months. So do your reading and decide what you want before you buy. I can see that a person could nickle and dime themselves to death adding on features that will never be quite as nice as factory installed features. I have learned so much from reading about all your experiences and it has helped me and I really appreciate all the input from forum members.
  12. Thanks for your report. Glad you are still happy with your C-Max. It would be interesting to do a comparison of your mileage if and when you take your roof rack off. Will you leave it on all the time or just for trips?
  13. You can get your window sticker here. http://www.researchmaniacs.com/Ford/TrackFactoryCarOrders.html
  14. Scooter I got my VIN on Friday and did a search for my window sticker and found it. My car will be built this Thursday Nov.8th and dealer says I will have it November 26th. I will keep you posted.
  15. From what I have read a DVD can be played on Myford Touch when the car is in park. So I think it depends on whether your car has Myford Touch or Sync. I think if you have an SEL you can play the DVD, but not with SE. I think the salesmen don't have all the facts and differences memorized.
  16. On our test drive, the Myford Touch was pretty intuitive and I was catching on quickly. My husband who is a computer geek had more trouble than I did. I am looking forward to playing with it and learning
  17. I am 63 yrs old and am waiting for my C-Max. There are lots of youtube tutorials on Myford Touch. I have watched a few and I think for me it won't be too hard to learn. I will make a few cue cards for little reminders as I think getting into the lingo will be the hardest part--and it will be easy peasy once I have those down pat.
  18. Welcome. Tuxedo black sounds nice. I have a SEL on order --maybe coming at the end of the month. The C-Max that we test drove was very quiet so I am not sure what sounds you are hearing? Some forum members do mention a fan like sound. I liked the elevated driving postition too and it was one of the reasons I ordered one. Looking forward to your photos.
  19. Why not buy a block heater? And perhaps an interior space heater for the car?
  20. That sure seems odd! Poor quality control? I will really be inspecting my SEL when it arrives. But I think I wouldn't worry much about a missing bit of advertising.
  21. Joe I like the way you think. I don't think I am a drafter by nature--sounds a little scary. I like to keep a good safe distance. Yesterday I saw two semi's in the right lane beside me and my wee Smart Car. One was seriously tail gaiting as they approached an on ramp to the freeway. I had a preminition that bad things were about to happen and I moved my car as far left in the lane as possible. The semi in the lead almost came to a dead stop with his gears grinding and the semi following him swerved into my lane to avoid hitting his butt. That was one example when the smallness of the Smart Car came in handy as a bigger car would have been smushed.
  22. CNCGeek sure I will let you know how it looks when it arrives. Laurel
  23. How close do you have to be to draft? I read that those hypermiling teams do that to get high stats. Glad to hear you are satisfied with your car. My dealer said Nov.26th for ETA of my C-Max, but that may be lip service to keep me from bugging him. I hope it is the truth.
  24. Thanks for posting that. I just ordered one, and my SEL isn't on the radar yet (ordered it Oct.8th and haven't heard anything yet). I ordered as I figure there will be a run on them once the C-Maxs arrive in full force <g>.
