OK gamers in the north country - it's that time of year! 652m / 12.79g / 50.8 mpg / at the pump (Guess I left 50 miles and a 700 mile tank 'on the table' - maybe next time I will carry an emergency supply and go for it) http://nollieworks.smugmug.com/photos/i-VMRnC6r/0/L/i-VMRnC6r-L.jpg

Sounds pretty decent (smart shopping) Marc. (delayed :clapping: for the astute purchase) What kind of weather, load...... We tend to get in the 44-48 range ECO cruising those speeds with fare weather (40-70) and traveling light. Yes the pump / gauge diff tends to be irritating. I've inched our PSI up to 45 as well, but probably not further. That would put you up to what 13-14k miles? (Crossing fingers for you on the used aspect of your purchase) We will likely aero mod a skosh in the future to bump up our coolest weather driving. Still breaking in here, Nick, (PS BTW Marc, I've seen used SELs on dealer lots still going for 25k+ish. Saw one loaded SEL on Craigs list Seattle, private party, now at 23k. IOW, you did very well!)

Yo Jus, you're right "this is a numbers issue". Amazing the focus by some on the numbers that mean the least - sticker #s - crazy stuff! Gentle folks out there, the only numbers that matter are the numbers you generate with your throttle foot. Anyone can produce very good MPG's (40+) with the C-Max if they want to (on average, or just on occasion); and many of you can & will push the 50 MPG mark with regularity - it is fundamentally your choice, not a function of someone else's thoughts, projections, theories, or diabolical conspiracies ............ More importantly, the C-Max is not just a numbers machine, but a great, versatile & fabulous ride. Play the numbers game and enjoy; more importantly for most, forget the numbers game and enjoy - it is all good, if you keep your perspective.   Oh, and a lower priced SEL in the future works for me - We waited for a sale price to move us to purchase. Guess more good deals in the next month or so. :) :) :)

Welcome & congrats cbharvest! Sounds like you will have it just the way you want it. We could not be more pleased with ours. The C-Max can fit many transportation needs & driving styles. Get past the negative rants here, nix the leaves and enjoy the ride. Nick

:redcard: :redcard: :redcard: You guys are hereby flagged for fiendish thoughts of reckless speed & gas consumption. No more STI, GTR, yadda, yadda, yadda stuff! (unless you send one my way of course) Back to not so silly comparisons, here are some comps relating to the 'lugage' capacity in back with seats up or folded out of the way, and cabin space. Hmmmmmm not allowing me to add small 10 kb spread.

Name one like and dislike with your C-Max?
C-MaxSea replied to armoredsaint's topic in General Discussion
Like: 99 %, ok, one, stealth silence / no exhaust in city, heavy traffic, stop lights ....... & to quote mtcmax above "Like the way it makes me smile when driving ........" Wish for: little details like MPG readings on MyView Trip logs (also nix the leaves) -
Depends on where the chips & salsa are Frank, I'm thinking in the door bins. :bliss: (or is that the cookies & milk ;))

Soooooooooo right David! :congrats: on your Christmas present. Ours was a deferred C P too being in January (2013). Enjoy your C-Max whether you are juicing it on the freeway on-ramps, or Maxxxxxing out the MO (momentum) for MPGs! Congratz to you too rjdeeme29. Welcome to you both! Maxxing the MO most of the time, Nick

Now to even out the tire wear going 'down hill' to home, how about 43 - 45 PSI (& +2 or 3 mpg). :) Enjoy the vacation Scuba!

Weebee, Adrian, Marc, Shinytop - hope you all have a chance to check out Fuelly for your fuel-ups; you guys 'get it' !!!

ECO Cruise has always worked fine for us for freeway cruising, (and longer arterials). I do 'drop out' occasionally in order to take advantage of the terrain / HV battery charge (or keep up with heavy traffic).

Very handsome in black - Enjoy !!! (shade tree here we come)

Great shot Bro1999! Loved your other camping pics / link. Great to see the Energi in full use camping mode, looks like it is working out well for that purpose. nick

Confessions of a geek 'investor'. Oh your story sounds familiar Shinytop - although I usually add in a strong measure of constraint & miserliness. Another element of my addiction is the 'swiss army knife' factor. Story line interjection .......................could not resist the opportunity to 'invest in' media center computers (on the cheap of course) about 8 years ago - now have nearly 3 terrabytes of video recording ('free'). We use it almost daily in place of renting media or paying for media plans. Similarly, the Samsung G-Note 1 (international unlocked version, no plan). Waited 20 years for that 'swiss army knife' phone phablet to come out - relied on near 'free' phones with no plans until that. (anticipating a trifold screen watch 'phone' in the next couple years - flip, flip, detach & viola a full featured phablet in your hands - naa, too bulky???) Ah, the C-Max, the next great/coolest/scientifically elegant 'swiss army knife' discovery - Uhoh! Let's see; a 10 year body & chassis pedigree giving it great handling/driving characteristics, unprecedented ingress/egress ease; an updated, powerful & sophisticated hybrid drivetrain; a seductively nice interior; lumbar support checkolla; astutely laid out technobilitiessssssss - BINGO! Combined with a leaky BMW needing to be replaced, and a bargain price, the rest is history..... ( have had our garage wired for 220 for the last 20 years anticipating a plug in, alas the technology not quite there for us, no worry C-Max Hybrid is there - it will faithfully get us down the road the next 10-20 years until we are all driving something completely different - rather gliding around in something not requiring a driver per se, just a navigator) Starship GG, away.................................. nick

The C-Max Bar - The Best Place to Greet & Talk

Salsa, Have used the Park Assist many times and it has been flawless & fun. Of course we rarely need it with parking lots & garages ........., so I use it on occasion just for fun alone. There are several threads on this including this one: http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/topic/2213-park-assist-thumbs-way-up/ The key is to go slow and keep your foot on/near/ready to brake - you are in control of the process with your foot! Practice twice and you have it mastered. Hmmm, it has been awhile, time to go have some fun. Nick -
What's in your C-Max today?
C-MaxSea replied to C-MaxSea's topic in Cargo, Hauling, Roof Racks & Towing
More mayhem in your C-Max Foto ! 900 pounds, great mpgs, fantastic - forget the Urban Activity Vehicle; it is certainly an Urban Assault Vehicle in your hands. I fear significant work at both ends though. I have always appreciated the 'square' end opening. -

Jus, Re: San Fran vid; how do you spell censored, censored crazy good? -
:clapping: :clapping: :clapping: Many congratz Robfixit (you too A..B..R..) !!! For doing all the research, understanding the car buying decision, following your mind, gut & heart combined ! You have made a great purchase - or at least we all hope you did for obvious reasons :) . We also started out in the 42-44 range and were ecstatic to see it continue to rise (although we cheat a lot in our driving patterns). Great car for so many reasons - several you mentioned and many more.. Enjoy! Still smitten, nick

Isn't the Priiius that one with the 'drive by committee'/drive by consensus' dash board which requires multiple passengers in order to make decisions - show of hands for acceleration, braking, where to go, what to do, how to think??? .............. and then those Zombie commercials for them, where the buyers are like candy store clients picking bubble gum...... Sorry, lost my head there; the Priiiiius is a great car - but pales compared to the C-Max !!! (or is that C-Lemon ? ;)) nick

Well, I think my racing days are behind me Kostby, (as if they ever even arrived). Both options (Indy or the EcoBoost thing) sound like a blast - or is that a Boost? (Love the commercial with Mario giving that dude a ride in the Indy car while he is listening to the smooth music.) I've seen a couple ads/promos for the EcoBoost Tour with C-Maxes mentioned - fun/good idea ??? Nick Hybrid driving tip for the day: Don't drive like Richard - Petty, Rawlings or otherwise !

and all we get in Seattle is a parking lot :shift: or do we get to slip on to the pony track for some dirt flinging  :secret:. (Emerald Downs) http://ecoboostdrive.com/
