1. If I am not mistaken, it controls whether the interior lights turn on with door opening.
2. Glad to hear your ok. After looking at the pictures, I'm pretty impressed with the C-Max. Glass didn't even break. The other car looks ALOT worse off.
3. <blockquote class='ipsBlockquote'data-author="wab" data-cid="12464" data-time="1363456009">
Bet you make use of the ABS feature A LOT. ;)

Actually, never had too. Don't intend too either. As another poster says, you must keep a close eye on traffic and pay close attention to driving. If I can't do either, I don't follow trucks. I don't follow trucks everytime I get on the highway, but if an opportunity presents itself, I try to take advantage of it. Again, as long as the conditions are right (daylight, goods weather, lack of traffic, etc.). I see people all the time tailgating. They are MUCH closer than I am. Not saying its right, but how many people leave at least 2 seconds space to the car in front of them ALL the time?
4. I try to give myself a one second space between me and the truck in front of me. I see about 5% increase in FE. Of course this is dependent on traffic, weather, etc.
5. Sure, I haven't used skype in a while. Let me make sure I can get on and I will PM you with times and my info. OK?
6. I didn't see anyone post this. Doesn't seem to be a big deal but thought I would post it. Ford is recalling 5,675 model-year 2013 versions of the C-Max, Focus and Escape due to faulty child safety door locks ... The affected vehicles were manufactured from Nov. 16-21, 2012 (check your vehicle's build date on a sticker on the driver-side doorjamb). http://blogs.cars.com/kickingtires/2013/03/recall-alert-2013-ford-c-max-focus-and-escape.html
7. 49 MPG!!!! Took a different route home from work. No interstate, just rural roads, mostly 45 mph some 55 mph. Its almost a break even in gas consumption since its about 3 miles further, but I am getting 49 mpg vs. my previous best of 43 mpg. Temp was mid 50's.
8. I am willing to do an online survey. From North Carolina.
9. They are probably in Apples format (.m4a), you will need to convert them to MP3. iTunes can do this, if you right click on the file, you will see a selection "create mp3 version". It WILL create a duplicate of the song in your iTunes library. To fix this, uncheck either all the aac files or the mp3 file and then when you sync your apple device tell it to only sync the checked files. As for getting them on the usb drive, you will just have to copy ONLY the mp3 files. Also, tell iTune to defalt to MP3 when importing to prevent iTunes from creating more files to convert. Just my $0.02
10. Well,I guess you would be the expert then! ;)
11. That is true. Thanks for pointing that out.
12. THANKS! My last car (a 2004 Dodge Neon) I was averaging 38+MPG on mostly highway. So I have been a little disappointed with my mileage (40.6mpg) so far with the Max, but I am trying to figure out what works best for me. I might be onto something. ;)
13. Finally did it! 47MPG My previous best was 45MPG (This morning on the same route, temp was mid 30's) This was on a trip from Concord, NC to Conover, NC. Outside temp was in the mid 40’s. Most of the drive was on rural roads, but it included a 15 mile run on the interstate (65MPH) in the rain. It CAN be done! THRILLED! BTW my lifetime MPG is 40.6, so this was a BIG deal for me.
14. Thanks, thats what I have. Thought maybe I was missing something. :)
15. I finally got a break in the weather to post a picture.
16. I have an SE and I don't see any "floor" vents in the back seat. Is this an SEL thing?
17. I agree, missed fill-up. I did the same thing when I reported my last fill-up, but I noticed the MPG was WAY to high. Luckily I keep my fill-ups recorded on my phone. I went back and put in the one I missed.
18. Also, you can actually have all the vents (dash, floor and windshield) working at the same time, just push each of buttons. You push once to turn a vent on, then push it again to turn it off. I posted this in another thread ... if you have the temperature gauge on MyView, when the temperature icon changes from blue to white, your CMax is heated up enough to use EV AND at that point it will also provide heat. I always wait for my car to heat up before turning on the heat, I hate it blowing cold air!
19. I think the front needs to be set to vent (air comes out of the dash vents).
20. LOL! I found these by accident one day when my leg was getting a cold shot of air from someplace I couldn't find. They are below the controls for MFT. Above the physical climate controls, on a horizontal surface.
21. I didn't say you needed a scangauge, I just said I used it. And actually if you watch the temp gauge closely, the little temp symbol changes from blue to white when the engine is warm enough to use EV mode.
22. My opinion on EV+ mode is that it is useful in the winter or colder days. When the CMax is cold, it will run the ICE to warm up the engine for emission purposes or to warm up the cabin (depending on climate control settings). Sine the ICE is running anyway (even when stopped) at least it is doing some work (charging the battery). In warmer climates the usefulness is reduced. At least that is my thinking.
