  1. Run the AC at whatever you feel comfortable with, BUT if your interested in mpg, then set a temperature and let the car do what its designed for. Why is automatic climate control standard? To minimize the use of the compressor. Just my $0.02
  2. It really doesn't matter what the temperature is set at, what is important is to actually set it at a temperature. The compressor in the Cmax is a variable speed compressor. As the interior approaches the set temp, the compressor works less and leads. If you set it at "full blast" the compressor will consume the most power. Use the screen that shows the use of the AC (I don't remember the name of it).
  3. On the Nav screen, press the "menu" button in the upper tight. There you will find the option "Guidance Mute".
  4. Actually the first one is probably accurate. If you notice the country he is from, looks to be from France. In Europe, the Cmax isn't a hybrid and he uses the name Brand Cmax which is a European model.
  5. I don't classify myself as a hypermiler, I call myself an ECOdriver. To some, especially the news-media, a hypermiler is some wing-nut who shuts off his car on every down slope and drives with the windows-up and AC off in the summer heat. No offence to anyone here. :wub2: I personally enjoy getting every tenth of MPG I can get while enjoying the AC, radio and beautiful interior of my Cmax on my 27 mile journey to work every day.
  6. Page 361 of the owners manual says to rotate the tires: At every oil changeinterval as indicated bythe informationdisplay. Can be up to10000 miles(16000 km) or12 months
  7. I'm not in the 700 mile club but ... "Miles to empty" is accurate from the standpoint of using it to not run out of gas. However, as an accurate way to judge exactly how many "MORE" miles I can drive, its not accurate at all. I drove 20+ miles past "0" and when I filled up, the pump said I used 13.036 gallons. Also, the Cmax said I had only used 12.63 gallons. So I don't understand how it can say I was 0 miles to empty but only used ~12.3 gallons of an 13.5 gallon tank. (OK, don't start, I know Ford is fudging to make sure I don't run out of gas, but why under estimate the volume of fuel used AND under estimate the mile to empty). Stepping down from soapbox. Speaking of my fill-up I am already in the 600 club but Jus-a-Cmax has motivated me to improve my last tank. So here is a 630.1 mile tank. I am shooting for 650. I don't think I can get much past that as my daily drive is mostly interstate and I use the AC.
  8. I posted this under the Mileage tread, but I thought it was worth reposting here. If you have Nav and you run low enough on fuel that the fuel gauge turns red, the Nav will show every gas station on the map. Which I think is a pretty cool feature! Of course most people probably don't let the gas get that low! ;)
  9. Congratulations Jus!!!! As a side note, I did confirm this morning that if you have Nav and you run low enough on fuel that the fuel gauge turns red, the Nav will show every gas station on the map. Which I think is a pretty cool feature! :happy feet:
  10. This isn't exactly a trip, but this is my Trip 1 summary for this tank so far:
  11. Had to visit another facility today in Mooresville, NC (actually next to Penske Racings NASCAR shop), I got to park right next to an Ice Blue SEL:
  12. I have noticed this same thing. When I wash the car I pay close attention to this area to make sure its clean. It easily get clogged with debris (leaves, sticks, pollen, etc.). My Cmax gets parked under trees alot.
  13. WOW, Thanks! I just wish someone would get these for the Cmax, but those three are the ones I am most interested in.
  14. My trip to work today. My trips usually hover just under 50 mpg, but today the Mileage Gods shined on me. Not bad for mostly interstate and a couple of bad stops (notice only 95% on brake score, lifetime is 98%).
  15. What code do you use on the scangauge to get battery Temps? I only have SOC, are there any other codes you know?
  16. Yes, I finished reading it at lunch. I thought it was a pretty fair assessment of the Cmax. And 44 mpg was pretty good too.
  17. I have not read it yet, just saw it online. http://www.autoguide.com/car-comparisons/2013-ford-cmax-vs-2013-toyota-prius-v-comparison-test-2688.html

  19. OK, I feel stupid. I thought Member Since was referring to member of the board, not member of the club. Excuse me while I go sit in the corner with the pointy hat on.
  20. I have no idea when it came on, but since you didn't see it in the yellow. I am guessing red. I will keep an eye out for it going forward.
  21. Thanks for the update, you posted: HannahWCU (603.2/273 EV), using 12.20 gallons @ 49.4 MPG, member since 6.19.13 But my profile lists: Member Since 08 Jan 2013. I only mention this because it puts me as the oldest member (oldest as in, been a member the longest) to join the 600 Mile Club!
  22. I noticed something on my navigation screen while driving those last couple of miles to hit 600. I was using the navigation because I am kind of new to the area and didn't want to get lost while so low on fuel. My navigation was showing every gas station that was near me! I guess the Cmax was trying to tell me something.
  23. Here it is. Pump actually showed a 12.7 gallon fill-up, which works out to 47.4mpg. BIG increase over my fuelly average.
  24. As my signature shows, I am at 41.6 lifetime. Right now my Cmax is sitting in the parking lot with 590.0 miles on this tank and it shows 16 miles to empty. This tank should be somewhere around 46-47MPG (Scangage is reading 46.4mpg, Cmax says 49.2mpg, scangage is usually closer). Thinking of taking a little ride at lunch to break the 600 point and post the picture.
  25. Thanks, I seriously didn't think of that. :worship:
