  1. Why do you ask? Has there been an update for 2013 vehicles that changed what can be displayed on the right (efficiency leaf) side?
  2. Get a Rat Zapper. http://www.ratzapper.org/
  3. I wrote this in October 2013 in the "Ford C-max least reliable car in America (Says CR)" thread: >>>They classify the C-Max (both the hybrid and the Energi) as wagons. They give the C-Max an overall score of 83 and say the best wagon got an 88 and the worst wagon got 62. Reliability is discussed separately . As noted in my previous post, they explain their "Reliability" ratings system at http://www.consumerr...ories/index.htm For the Energi they say "much worse than average" reliability. [but remember they also say, "Models that score a are not necessarily unreliable, but have a higher rate of problems than the average model. Similarly, models that score are not necessarily problem-free, but had relatively few problems compared with other models.] They give the top rating to 8 categories. They downgrade one notch from the best possible rating on fuel system, brakes, paint/trim, squeaks/rattles and power equipment. They downgrade three notches on climate system. They downgrade four notches (worst possible rating) on electrical system, body hardware and audio system. For the hybrid they say "much worse than average" reliability. They give the top rating to 10 categories. They downgrade one notch from the best possible rating on fuel system, paint/trim, and squeaks/rattles. They downgrade two notches on body hardware and power equipment. They downgrade three notches on electrical system. They downgrade four notches (worst possible rating) on audio system. They also say. "Based on the latest survey, we expect reliability of new (Energi) models will be 226% below average." and "Based on the latest survey, we expect reliability of new (hybrid) models will be 143% below average." I have no idea what this is supposed to mean.>>> The problem is that CR and lots of other news services that pick up on what CR has done throw all the caveats and explanations out the window when they write articles with titles like "10 Least Reliable New Cars" or "Least Reliable New Car". The caveats and explanations let you know that the "Leasts" have in some way been assessed by CR as not being as reliable as the "Bests", but the "Leasts" may still be vety good. That's how the same vehicle can have "low" reliability and a good or even excellent score.
  4. Interesting. On a recent Sunday I helped someone who didn't know their way around town (Chapel Hill NC) find a place that was open to get a flat fixed. I called a nearby Pep Boys to check if they were open and they told me they charged $20 to fix a flat.
  5. Can't do that to the right of the speedo on the 2013 cars. Wish I could. Does the 2015 still have the "efficiency leaves"? Is what is shown here an alternative to the leaves or a replacement?
  6. I don't remember the context, but one or both of them often said, "The answer is two."
  7. Amazing how the answer for us is always 47, but for the Car Guys the answer was always 2.
  8. If you drive from Denver to Leadville and get 25 mpg and then drive the same distance Leadville to Denver and get 400mpg, then your avergage mpg for the trip is a bit over 47 mpg. [Distance is 100 miles each way. Going up you use 4 gallons of fuel and coming back you use 1/4 gallon of fuel. Total distance 200 miles. Total fuel use 4.25 gallons. Overall mpg 200/4.25 = 47 mpg. Coincidentally matching the original mfgs estimate for the C-Max.]
  9. Interesting, we just had PCM reprogram 14E02 done - wonder what else this one is going to do? Bill N - Thank you for being our early warning system for the latest service bulletins, recalls, etc.
  10. Kostby - I love the lyrics, but I can't figure out the tune. Must be a problem with the sound system.
  11. One of them gets detected first, usually the one in the driver's seat but that may be because that's the first one in the car, and that's the one that's in charge.
  12. Does your C-Max have push button start? Our SEL does and I have noticed that what comes up on My View depends on which key fob is detected to start the car. My fob gives me my My View. My wife's fob gives me her My View.
  13. If the ICE is running when the car is in reverse, isn't the ICE just charging the hybrid battery? IIRC, the ICE does nothing to propel the car backwards.
  14. Had ours done yesterday at the same time we had a bad fuel injector replaced. 47,000 miles and no 12v battery issues. Our letter re 15B04 came in today's mail.
  15. Top Tier Gas - I suppose I am when I buy gas at Costco, but not sure about the gas at Kroger.
  16. The fuel injector for our #4 cylinder went our yesterday morning. We started the car (2013 SEL with about 48,000 miles), drove about 2 houses down the street and then there was loud noise and vibration up front and the check engine light started flashing. We immediately parked the car and had it towed to the dealer at noon. They read the code which indicated a bad fuel injector. They replaced the injector this morning and did our 14E02 and 15B04 updates too. My wife drove the car home and all seemed to be operating normally.
  17. The new info in the June 2015 article I linked to is Ford said its new Sync 3 communications and entertainment system will first roll out in the 2016 Escape and Fiesta. Both the new Escape SUV and compact hatchback Fiesta will be on sale this summer, and Sync 3 will migrate to all Ford vehicles in North America by the end of 2016.

  19. Take a look at the attachment to this post http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/topic/4371-dead-battery-for-the-fifth-time/page-9?do=findComment&comment=57043
  20. Two possibilities here (1) the person you spoke to at your dealer is clueless OR (2) the time has finally come for long discussed C-Max gathering in Michigan - all of us who need 15B04 drive up and have a nice lunch while the update is done on our vehicles I vote for (1), although (2) would be fun.
  21. Same deal in Durham. No parts at my last oil change and have not heard anything different since. Tricia @FordService what's up with the parts for this recall?
  22. Thanks Kellytoons and hooray for Captain Spaulding!
  23. Very nice and of course the avatar upgrade indicates that we now can get all the new features on the 2014 and 2015 C-Max retrofit to our 2013 C-Max for free, right? :happy feet:
