  1. Sorry about the battery. But at least the missing key is fixable. Go beat up on the dealer to get you the key(s).
  2. May I also suggest pipe insulation; the kind used to insulate hot water pipes. I haven't tried it, but it seems as though the smaller size might tuck between the hood and the windshield. I have used it with great success as a way of keeping the cold, winter air out of the grill (it slips over the horizontal grill pieces).
  3. Understand that the car is never really off unless the 12V battery is disconnected. It has to "watch" for approaching objects (friend or foe), keep radio presets, various preferences, etc. There's also a fuel system leak test that gets run when the car is "off".
  4. Replacing the stock incandescent bulb is a common for-appearance-sake modification. I purchased mine from Amazon. Search the forum for more info.
  5. SSM 44234 - 2013 C-Max and 2013-2014 Escape - Compact Disc Player Failure To Eject Disc Some 2013 C-Max and 2013-2014 Escape vehicles equipped with My Ford Touch may exhibit a compact disc (CD) stuck in the player when attempting to eject. Prior to following normal diagnostics, first check for misalignment of the CD player to instrument panel center middle trim panel (18842). If no visible misalignment is present remove trim panel. Refer to WSM section 501-12, removal and installation. Attempt to eject CD while trim panel is removed. If CD ejects suspect trim alignment concern, repair as needed. If CD does not eject follow normal diagnostics.
  6. This from OASIS: Oct 14 2013 4180 -2013 C-Max and 2013-2014 Escape - Compact Disc Player Failure To Eject Disc Some 2013 C-Max and 2013-2014 Escape vehicles equipped with My Ford Touch may exhibit a compact disc (CD) stuck in the player when attempting to eject. 7. It's the same recall, just a different title. The door-chime remedy is to reprogram the instrument panel control module (IPC). Takes about 15 minutes according to the dealer instructions.
  8. The C-Max uses a scroll compressor, so this link may help with identifying compressor noise: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hapg3FbD9Es
  9. Mine were replaced last week under warranty.
  10. Make that Continuously vs Constant.
  11. Sounds like advantageous auspicious advice.
  12. Mine was just delivered. Purchased car 10/1/12. Here's the enclosed letter:
  13. Good idea. Post it in the C-Max improvements thread.
  14. May I suggest the SEL model. They seem to have fewer battery problems. Also, I find the leather seats easier to slide in and out of than cloth.
  15. My SEL has a "headlights on" indicator just above the "N" on the speedometer.
  16. (Emphasis mine.) MFT does NOT necessarily include navigation!
  17. To offer a somewhat different perspective, I do NOT have navigation but have used Sync Services Directions many times and have found it works very well. The instructions are shown on both the big MFT screen and on the small screen to the right of the speedometer. Directions are correct, timely (e.g. "turn right in two tenths of a mile onto Main St."), it understands when you're off route and asks if rerouting is wanted, survives turning the car off, and so forth. I'm quite impressed.
  18. Seems the issue has been fixed. Now, if "they" would just implement some of the "How to Make the Forum Better" suggestions....
  19. Actually, the "big screen" is standard on the SEL (comes with MFT).
