  1. Somewhat off topic, but for those energi owners lurking among us, this from OASIS today: 2012-2014 Focus Electric, 2013 C-MAX Energi, 2013-2014 Fusion Energi - EV Range Display After Charging The EV Range being displayed after fully charging a 2012-2014 Focus Electric, 2013 C-MAX Energi or 2013-2014 Fusion Energi may vary after each charging event. EV Range is similar to the Distance To Empty feature on a conventional gasoline vehicle and is based upon how the vehicle was driven prior to charging the battery. Factors such as terrain, mild/aggressive acceleration or braking, city or highway driving, and use of accessories such as headlamps, heating and air conditioning all contribute to the variation in the EV Range that is available and displayed.

  11. Regarding dealer reaction to doing all or just some of the updates, I'd guess they will insist on doing all the recalls (vs FSA's, TSB's, SSM's, etc.) due to potential liability issues. As I recall (no pun intended), there are only 2 actual recalls, this one and the headliner padding. Cheers.
  12. Can we please get back on topic? Enough already.
  13. From Ford OASIS web site: Oct 30 2013 4252 -C-MAX And Fusion Energi - DTC P2183 Under Investigation Some 2013 C-MAX Energi vehicles built after July 8, 2013, and 2014 Fusion Energi vehicles may exhibit the check engine lamp illuminating accompanied by diagnostic trouble code P2183 in the powertrain control module. This concern is under investigation by engineering and a calibration update is planned to be released to resolve it.
  14. Anyone know how to remove this panel in the cargo area? The shop manual shows this but I can't get it to come loose. Is it held in with velcro? Is there a snap or latch of some sort? Obviously I don't want to break it, but so far I've been unable to pull it loose. Any will be help appreciated. adThanksvance.
  15. I know it's no help, but mine works just fine. Like Edsel, I do have to hold the button a moment. Perhaps the wire antenna on the opener unit is messed up? They need to be straight, and pointing down.
  16. "Bonus Bolt"????? SSM 44253 - 2013 C-MAX / 2013-2014 Fusion and MKZ Hybrid/Energi - Powertrain Clunk/Whine - Bonus Bolt In Engine Mount Some 2013 C-MAX and 2013-2014 Fusion and MKZ Hybrid/Energi vehicles may exhibit a tactile vibration or clunking/thumping noise when braking or when tipping in or out of the throttle, or a powertrain/transaxle whine primarily when braking. This may be caused by a foreign object such as a nut or bolt lodged in one of the powertrain mounts causing a ground out condition to the body - either the RH engine mount or the LH transmission mount. To access the LH engine transmission mount, remove the 7B012 Secondary On Board Diagnostic Module (SOBDMC) and the upper half of the mount in order to inspect for this foreign object and possible grounding condition.
  17. While I doubt this is relevant to forum members at this time, I thought it was worth documenting: SSM 44252 - Hybrids In Taxi Service - HF35 Transmission Bearing Noise Some 2013 C-MAX Hybrid and 2013-2014 Fusion Hybrid vehicles operating in taxi service may exhibit a metal-on-metal scraping-type sound from the transmission. This noise will be present in all gear ranges including neutral when the vehicle is moving, but will not be present when the vehicle is stationary or in park. The current transmission assembly (7000) service parts incorporate design improvements to enhance durability under the unique operating conditions of taxi service.
  18. Per Ford: SSM 12063 - 2012-2013 Focus 2013 C-Max, Escape - Rain Light - Proper Operation 2012-2013 Focus and 2013 C-Max and Escape vehicles equipped with the Rain Light feature will not work with the wiper switch set to intermittent/delay mode by design. This feature will only work when the wiper switch is set to the low or high speed settings during daylight operation, and the headlamp switch set to Autolamp mode with a 5 to 10 second delay before headlamps/park lamps turn on. After the wiper switch is turned off, the lamps will remain on for approximately 5 to 10 seconds.
  19. Sorry about the battery. But at least the missing key is fixable. Go beat up on the dealer to get you the key(s).
  20. May I also suggest pipe insulation; the kind used to insulate hot water pipes. I haven't tried it, but it seems as though the smaller size might tuck between the hood and the windshield. I have used it with great success as a way of keeping the cold, winter air out of the grill (it slips over the horizontal grill pieces).
  21. Understand that the car is never really off unless the 12V battery is disconnected. It has to "watch" for approaching objects (friend or foe), keep radio presets, various preferences, etc. There's also a fuel system leak test that gets run when the car is "off".
  22. Replacing the stock incandescent bulb is a common for-appearance-sake modification. I purchased mine from Amazon. Search the forum for more info.
  23.
