  1. EVSE = Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (plug-in high-voltage battery charger) From the shop manual, DTC P0D80 could be due to a problem with one of the following: EVSE Vehicle Charge Port High voltage cable or AC input inline fuses Home wiring directly providing AC SOBDM (Secondary On-Board Diagnostic Module) It looks like the DTC could be triggered if the EVSE is plugged into the charge port and the EVSE does not have AC power. Make sure the electrical outlet that the EVSE is plugged into is working.
  2. Welcome Rebecca, I know it is wishful thinking, but it would be great to have a diagnostic screen that shows all the sensor values. Tire pressure, oil pressure. Coolant temperature, battery temperature, AC compressor temperature, heater core temperature, oil temperature, inside ambient temperature, inside humidity, etc. LV battery voltage, LV battery power, HV battery voltage, HV battery power/current. And of course oil monitor life. (with a reset button) And several engine sensor values.
  3. Field service action 13B12 and technical service bulletin "13-B7-10" (actually called TSB 13-7-10) both require updating the front control/display interface module (FCDIM) to the latest calibration. FSA 13B12 might also have additional services added.
  4. It's great to hear you're back in the saddle again! :woohoo: Now you jus need to get on the golf course.

  6. To get the full FSA document, you have to have a paid subscription on Ford's technical service information website: https://www.motorcraftservice.com/vdirs/retail/default.asp The subscription also provides access to the online workshop manual and wiring diagrams. The subscription cost is $19.95 a month. I had a subscription but it has expired.
  7. This FSA was just announced: Dec 10 2013 4413 - Announcing Field Service Action 13B12 DELIVERY HOLD - Customer Satisfaction Program 13B12 - Certain 2013 C-MAX Hybrid Vehicles with 4" Multifunction Display - Check Battery and Reprogram the Front Control/Display Interface Module (FCDIM) It looks like they changed TSB 13-07-10 from a TSB to a field service action (FSA). Here is a link for TSB 13-07-10: http://www.fordservicecontent.com/pubs/content/~WT/~MUS~LEN/3560/tsb13-07-10.pdf The dealer is automatically reimbursed by Ford for an FSA, where a TSB is not reimbursed unless the dealer can prove the TSB is necessary. I hope they make TSB 13-06-23 (cold weather charging improvements) an FSA, too. Link: http://www.fordservicecontent.com/Ford_Content/pubs/content/~WT/~MUS~LEN/3595/tsb13-06-23.htm Good luck

    Cmax Problem

Welcome to the C-max forum. The problem with pulling on the door handles is that it unlocks the doors if you have the key fob with you. I always just look inside the car to make sure the amber "locked" indicator is lit when I want to be sure it is locked. I also learned that if you leave one of the fobs inside the car, it will automatically unlock itself even if you have the other fob with you on the outside of the car. It takes a little time to get used to all of the features. I can understand how it seems too complex.
  9. One-touch up is disabled if the battery has been disconnected. To re-enable it, you have to do the power window initialization procedure: Start the engine. 1.Lift and hold the window control switch until the door window is fully closed (up position). 2.Release the window control switch. 3.Lift and hold the window control switch again for at least one second. 4.Press and hold the window control switch until the door window is fully open (down position). 5.Release the window control switch. 6.Lift and hold the window control switch until the window is fully closed (up position). 7.Test for correct window operation by carrying out the one-touch down and one-touch up features.
  10. The dealer should give you an approximate build date. The exact build date will not be available until the week before it is actually built. This is when the window sticker will be available which shows the scheduled build date. Read this thread for build date and delivery tracking information. From that thread: "Once you have the VIN, you can pull the window sticker (about a week before the build) at: http://www.researchm...yCarOrders.html" And congratulations on the expected delivery!
  11. If it goes to full intensity at night each time, then there is a problem. It could be the ambient light sensor is bad, although I think it uses the same sensor for the autolamp control.
  12. I believe the instrument panel dimming level depends on the ambient light level. During the day, the dimming level would default to full intensity. At night or low ambient light, the dimming level goes to the previously selected dimming level. The dimming level might also default to full intensity during the day if the headlights are turned on.
  13. New OASIS broadcast message today: Nov 08 2013 4307 -2013 C-Max, 2013-2014 Escape, Focus - Body Control Module Ground, DTC U3008:13 Some 2013 C-Max, 2013-2014 Escape and Focus vehicles may exhibit DTC U3008:13 in Body Control Module (BCM). If DTC is present, a BCM ground issue exists and must be given priority over other DTCs or symptoms. A poor ground can cause low voltage to BCM, which could cause erratic, intermittent operation of several electrical components. Check ground circuits G107 and G301 on Focus and C-Max, G103 and G200 on Escape. To verify integrity of these ground circuits, use a suitable bulb to place load on circuits and measure voltage drop. With load present, manipulate wiring harness to check for intermittent fault. Repair any circuit that drops greater than 0.3 volts and re-test. Check pin fit in all BCM connectors with a flex probe. BCM replacement will result in repeat repair if ground issue is left unresolved. It makes me wonder if this (or other similar ground issue) might be the root cause of some of the odd behaviors like the windows opening on their own or the dead 12 volt battery problems. It's possible that an intermittent ground issue exists without getting the DTC.
  14. Ford C-Max and Fusion Energi sales beat Prius and Volt plug-in hybrid sales in October. http://wallstcheatsheet.com/stocks/ford-takes-the-lead-for-plug-in-hybrid-sales.html/?ref=YF
  15. The app is only for the Energi. The Energi has a built-in cell phone connection to send messages. The regular C-Max hybrid does not have this feature.
  16. It should work if the jump starter's charger AC load is less than 150 watts (~1.36 amps). I have a 450 amp jump starter that has a charger AC load of .7 amps. If the jump starter has a charger cord/adapter that you plug into a 12 VDC outlet, it would be more efficient to use it rather than the 110VAC charger. There is some power loss in the car's built-in 12VDC to 110VAC inverter.
  17. No. The 120VAC outlet is powered from a 12 volt fuse.
  18. Looking at the illustration, it looks like the plug is at the end of the cable where the 6D008 is pointing to. There is a weather-protection cap on the plug so it might not look like a plug. The block heater itself is behind the exhaust manifold.
  19. Go to http://www.fordparts.com/ and look for "engine block heater" for a C-Max. It will show an exploded view with the block heater and heater cable locations.
  20. Good post. The shop manual says NOT to lubricate the wheel studs or wheel nuts: NOTICE: Make sure to apply a thin coat of anti-seize lubrication only to the interface between the wheel pilot bore and the hub pilot. Do not allow the anti-seize to make contact with the wheel-to-brake disc/drum mounting surface, wheel studs, wheel nuts, brake pads or brake disc friction surfaces or damage to components may occur.
  21. I can't verify it because I have not had any DTC's, but you are supposed to be able to read the DTC's on the instrument panel display by putting the C-Max in engineering test mode as shown in this thread.
  22. If it was built after July 8, 2013, it already has the 13B07 update. If it was built before that date, recall 13B07 will show up on Etis if it has not been updated, yet.
  23. This is what the shop manual says: The message center provides an oil change minder to inform the driver that an oil change is required. The duration of the interval between oil changes is calculated in the PCM and varies due to driving conditions. The PCM assumes a base mileage of 16,090 km (10,000 mi) or 1 year for normal driving. However, this number is adjusted down for conditions such as high engine temperature, high engine rpm, use of flex fuel and possibly low oil level.
  24. drdiesel1, Thanks for the information and welcome to the forum. Hope to see more posts from you. :hat_tip:
