  1. I bought my Gaspods a couple of weeks ago as the $550 was burning a hole in my pocket :spend: and only recently started Fuelly, so not yet sure if or how they will affect my average FE. Using the work commute as a baseline though: 46 miles - was averaging 49-51 MPG, and 50 the week before the Gaspods install. Since the Gaspods were installed 2 weeks ago, 53 to 55 with no change in temp (am in FL where until today it's been a steady 88 degrees and humid all summer), or commute time. Work is maybe 50/50 city/highway. To/from the in-laws which is mostly highway, I believe I've seen an increase from around 47 to 50 MPG, but not too sure on those figures since the in-laws is somewhere I try not to visit too much. My install is about 3/4" from the rear and in line with the instructions. I believe there was a mention in another thread some time ago that the rear of the car is less dirty with the pods, and yes it's true! For this alone Gaspods are worthwhile :yahoo: Oh, and somehow I actually liked the brown paper bag. Edit: I believe it was mtb (Mike?) who mentioned the rear being less of a mess, so if you're reading - thanks! I need to go find that post now to see how many times I can click like..
  2. Sucks.. sorry.. if you're using Chrome mobile, I tend to leave the "clear saved passwords" and "clear autofill data" un-checked and clear the rest. The data may still be there in the Google cloud, so may just need to sync back up in dashboard and sign back in?
  3. My Jus Another C-Max Review bookmark works! Found I had to go through a few steps to get it to work in Chrome on the S4: Close all open tabs, clear browsing data, open a new tab, select "request desktop site" and manually start typing the forum web address or one of the site bookmarks. Trying to go to the site in non-desktop mode first and then change to "request desktop site" doesn't work, even upon reloading the page. May be something funky going on with the site though as mobile was working before and I do still get the Energi site mobile view in non-desktop mode. The old iPhone aka my alarm clock - nada. Thanks!
  4. Got the same dashcam yesterday - is great! Also got the Power Magic Pro to run in parking mode, but am hitting a brick wall when it comes to installing the Power Magic. From what I can tell, the 12V in the trunk is always live, but unsure which fuse(s) in the passenger compartment panel are live to install the Power Magic to prevent the possibility of draining the battery. Are you running yours from the rear 12V or the fuses with one of these?
  5. Yeah same issue here on any mobile devices - sent a message to the admin. iPhone, Galaxy S4, iPad - none are working, but the Energi forum does work, so it's a bit strange. Started doing this around a couple of weeks ago. Will post back if I hear back.
  6. Thanks! I think a trip to the dealer is in order. I've used that 12v point before for the GoPro and the cellphone (before I realized there was another in the armrest..) so figure it's ok. As you say, it may just be a bad one. Will ask if I can test mine out on one of their cars first and when the replacement comes in, test it on one of theirs again ;) Our passenger fuse panel is such a PIA...
  7. Haven't used it before, but yesterday I figured I'd check the pressure and top off if needed - set it up to air and as soon as I hit power, it blew the 20 amp fuse. Per the manual, the car was on, running in EV because the HV was around 50% and the 12V battery was 13.2 from the Scangauge. Btw it was dry outside and the kit looks ok. Has this happened to anyone else? Maybe it's gone bad somehow? It's not that good to use in an emergency if it blows fuses too... seems like the draw from it is too much for the 12V outlet. I didn't try again given the hassle that accompanies the task of replacing fuses :)
  8. In January when I got the car, I was regularly getting 39mpg here in FL. Around 3K in April (I guess the break in), I started seeing 43mpg for the same trips which is when AC started being used and the rains started. Since the FE update, I've been getting 51mpg for the same trips with AC on constantly and rain - a bit higher when it's not raining, so am looking forward to the cooler drier "winter" here. A couple of notes on what may have also had an impact on these over recent months - Jus' review, maybe 30% highway, and choosing routes with lights. Takes me longer but it's always nice to see good figures when I arrive and a Scangauge II to see what my foot's doing. I'm sure I'd be in the 600 club by now, but only just started taking note of the miles per tank, and only have 1 fill up on Fuelly. One thing I did notice today while filling up the washer fluid is the rubber stoppers under the hood were pretty high, so they're lower now and the hood is more flush, so I've probably been driving with a bit of drag.. maybe this will help. Lifetime average literally broke 47 the day the check arrived, which was ironic. Mine only has 5K on it since I work from home a lot, and is a bog standard SE without mods or pods or anything, but did the Pinnacle ceramic tint all round - and Air 80 on the windshield... and increasing the PSI in the tires to 43. So based on history, break-in helped, filling the tires to 43 helped, tint helped the AC, reviews here helped, and so did the FE update. Things that don't help - my dealer running the car everytime it's in (took 2 weeks after the FE update to get back to the average mpg after taking it in) and my county using the minimum allowed time at lights (2.4 secs on a 45mph) - kills brake scores, but still a respectable 94%.
  9. Update on the footwell bulbs. They're just the usual incandescent W5Ws found in the license plate lights, not LED per the manual. My guess is they're talking about the overheads. Anyway, access was ok and the blue LEDs I ordered in my previous post look good and are a far better quality than those ones on Amazon for the license plate. I'll post a pic later when it's dark. Not quite the stock ambient lights, but a relatively simple change for us SE owners and the blue looks good.
  10. Agreed - the thing is, I think Ford wanted this to be a PR exercise, and the questions such as what do you love about your C-Max and the battery and so on, were just that - PR. But many questions that didn't go answered like 2014 mods for 2013 MY, complaints about FE going down for some owners post FE update, complaints about MFT update problems etc. are still there for all to find. I did ask if Ford wanted my $550 back for a 2014 mod or if I should spend it on something else. My English sarcasm came out there... Oh and unlike Facebook, they can't delete posts or block you :D
  11. I don't think they answered any questions! Not sure what the chief engineer was there for other than to confirm they went with lithium ion vs. potato.
  12. So the $1M question was asked.. no response: @Ford @MazenHammoud Will any 2014 CMax body enhancements be made available for the 2013 CMaxs? Do they impact FE? #EVtalk
  13. Should also mention, having looked inside the area that screen covers, I'm really not sure why there's a screen. Should really be one covered piece IMO given the dust I found down in there.
  14. Yep, all is working out fine now. No more rattles from the dash. Was a bit concerned that taking off the whole cover to fix the screen may introduce noises there, but it seems to be fine. Can hear the weedwhacker AC better now too, but that's another story :/
  15. It was bugging me, so I tried again and was successful this time. Popped the cover off. The rear by the light sensor was a bit tricky, you have to pop out the rear two clips, and then pull the cover towards you. There's a plastic piece between the two rear clips that will break if you pull up. I removed the screen and using 5mm Scotch double sided weatherstrip, kept adding pieces and replacing the screen until the plastic against plastic noise stopped when tapping the top. The clips push the weatherstrip down to make a nice seal. I think over time this may happen to more of us as there's literally no padding between the screen and the cover, so may prove useful. Have attached some photos. Thanks again for the help! P.s. don't forget, like I did, to plug the CD light wire back in before reseating the cover...
  16. Yup - was just checking if anyone else knew while I wait for them to arrive :) I'll post back how it goes.
  17. Thanks all for your help. Tried it this morning and managed to get the piece to pop off the first couple of clips, but not the remaining 4 or 5 (can't tell from the video). Tried a bit less force and more persuasion where I thought the other clips were, but no go. I'm not too keen on making it worse, so may have the dealer look at it instead since they replace what they break. Or just stick my GoPro on the screen to push it down. Thanks again for the help though.
  18. Thanks! Who'd have thought just hitting it from underneath would work lol think I'll go a little easier on mine though! Thanks again!
  19. Has anyone replaced the footwell bulbs? Looking at the manual, it says dealer install but looking at them compared to the trunk and license plate bulbs, they look the same W5W. I know they are already LED, but since I didn't get the SEL or optional ambient lights, it would be nice to throw in some blue LEDs, like these: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00813YLZS/ref=ox_sc_act_image_1?ie=UTF8&m=A2NVTMB910FXUT
  20. So the grill piece above the CD player has started to rattle in the last few weeks. Seems because it's metal, it expands and contracts in heat and is worse at certain times of the day. I'm not too keen on the idea of taking the car into the dealer again, so was wondering if anyone had any experience or knowledge in how to remove it so I can add some padding between it and the plastic above it. Doesn't look that simple, but figured I'd ask.
  21. I had the exact same problem - passenger side piece was broken. Thing is, I hadn't raised the back seats, so it looks like it happened during the install and eventually decided to fall off one day. Warrantied so no issues there.
  22. I agree - all I can see from EV+ is it's use if the location is at the top of a hill, to save gas getting up there and regen on the way down. Since I live in FL, EV+ just leaves me with a low battery when I start her up again.
  23. Bringing up an old thread, sorry, but not sure if anyone else noticed how the C-Max also forgets EV+ locations. Decided to drive past home on 3 separate days to go to the store. 4th day coming home and home is lost. Had to add it back. Gas station also lost because - again - I drove past it too much. Really wish there was a way to program these online or something.
  24. Oh forgot to mention something from my call with Ford earlier. Probably goes without saying, but these checks come to us, not whoever owns the title to pay down the principal. When I called they confirmed my address a couple of times to make sure it comes to the right address. Ford call center also have a dedicated hybrid/electric option now too - 4.
