  1. Yeah I'm usually pretty organized! I called a number last year and got a year for $105 incl tax. I just forgot to call them again this year, so the auto renew just did it's thing. Live and learn!
  2. My commute used to be about 35 mins til I found Chill on Sirius. I seriously believe that channel, or listening to anything downtempo has caused the most improvement in my FE. False economy though as I accidentally forgot to call the special number to negotiate a lower renewal before 8/1 and just got dinged $210 for the pleasure of listening to the same songs over and over :) Kevin
  3. I found my air dams cause what's usually a 43 min commute to last 43.5 mins now. There's a few speed bumps to negotiate. No loss on MPG's though. :) Kevin
  4. I agree, unfortunately back in Jan 2013 I had the choice of an SE with whatever MFT package it is I have (201A I think - am on my cell), or a whole bunch of SES models all with a $750 GPS which I didn't want just on principle. There was a base SES but it was red and the mrs. has an aversion to red cars, so the SE it was. In retrospect I'd have still gone with what I have. I did try to trade in back in January for a Fusion Energi at the selling dealer but even with only 7,500 on the clock and great condition, I was offered $13K, so as soon as I walked out disgusted I decided to just try and add to what I have since the Fusion I'd been looking at all week had things I was looking forward to. All I was bothered about were the fog lights (gets foggy here in FL in the morning) and the rear view camera to be honest, but have since added oem leather covers for $300. All tolled am at about $1,200 so far and am happy enough with my SES lite :) It's just interesting to see what I can add since I know this will be my car for some time to come. Right now I'm on a mission to see what from the European version I hired the other week I might be able to change on mine. Crazy, and has likely nothing to do with FE and won't do anything to the value, but it's become it's own little project now. Kevin
  5. If you want to go a step further with aerodynamics, the UK C-Max I rented earlier this month has mirrors with a more angled leading edge :) same size and connections as ours, just a better shape. Not sure why Ford didn't go with these on the 2014. Unfortunately we can't just swap out the cap and indicator lens. I should know - I bought some back with me.. over there again next month so am trawling ebay for the whole thing. I went this far so figure I should finish the job :/ Rental is below. The front end looks nice too. http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/uploads/gallery/album_106/gallery_504_106_503534.jpg
  6. Thanks. The way you have yours with the inside edge is probably better aerodynamically, to be honest. The way it seems they're supposed to be on the inside edge basically creates a 90 degree angle against the air dams already on the car, so although air around the tires is deflected, it's only deflecting it out. Think they maybe should have designed them so they not only deflect air away from the tires but also on the inside, under the air dam. Still, any improvement is good and they're a cheap oem mod. :) I'll give the dremel and the prongs a try but the room for error is pretty slim with these, and being mostly rubber, they're a bit warped, and there's not much for them to hang onto, so I might just cut them off or use one or two and seal it up with some silicone adhesive or something. Was considering getting a 2014 under engine tray thing to match up, but that's the Ford check getting to my head. :) Will post up some pics and thoughts/findings when I get round to it - is way too hot out to be messing round right now.
  7. Cheers! I got mine this morning and didn't see your post until just now (have a habit of forgetting to follow posts). Before I saw your pics though I had a look outside to figure out how they go, and am not sure but it looks like you might have yours on the wrong sides. Have attached a few photos - first is how you have them looking front end on at the car, then how I thought they go (the one marked RH on the deflector is on the left or right hand side of the car). The last pic is the RH deflector infront of the passenger wheel where I think it goes. Looks like the flat edge with the two holes go at the back and they line up with the bolts holding that tray to the car. The curved edge of that same side lines up with the deflectors already on the car. The 3 prongs and that hole that sticks out from our deflectors on the curved edge I can probably get in the tray with a dremel. Anyway maybe I'm wrong but let me know what you think. Thanks again! http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/uploads/gallery/album_106/gallery_504_106_415782.jpg http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/uploads/gallery/album_106/gallery_504_106_2855315.jpg http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/uploads/gallery/album_106/gallery_504_106_1303976.jpg

  11. Were you able to take any photos of how you installed these by any chance? Ordered mine today from fdmotorparts for $25 a piece plus $13 shipping. They're a bit of a pain to find parts online through them, but with the part #'s you posted, I found them. It was a bit of a chore, but was able to add an oem backup camera through those guys for less than $150 - primed handle, Ford badge, camera, harnesses, camera bracket. Bit more than a cheap one off eBay but looks legit :)
  12. Just found these online for the British/Euro C-Max. At $1.70 to the £ right now, it's $410 less shipping, so probably close to the figure on that check from Ford, but these look wonderful (and that's not a word I use too often). http://www.fordpartsuk.com/shop/ford_c-max_drl_daytime_running_light_kit__f_1717420.htm
  13. Nah sorry, no more photos. I did take some measurements though and the wing mirrors and front and rear bumpers are the same dimensions as ours. I found a primed front end online, but no grille as of yet. Also found the top cover and turn signal light housings from the mirrors online but I'm not sure there's much need for that. I wonder if switching out my front end will invalidate the warranty lol Looks more aerodynamical than ours and with less of a footprint on the fogs. Given the new EPA figures and the additional $475 check Fedex just dropped off, it makes you wonder why Ford Europe and Ford US don't talk to each other more. I managed the same mpg driving like an idiot with the AC on for the sake of it in my 1.0l ecoboost that I get here hypermiling. Oh well. On the flipside, it did cost me $107.34 to fill her up before I dropped her off with Avis :)
  14. Nope, 14C03 didn't apply to mine. Or rather Etis and the Ford owner site haven't had it listed for my VIN. Just had the safety restraint recall done too.
  15. Am wondering if anyone has had to remove the headrest retainers the headrests slide into, and if so, how? Also, how to remove those buttons on the side of the rear seat headrests? I got a full set of OEM medium stone leather covers for the C-Max from eBay for quite a bargain, but am flummoxed with these parts. Hopefully there are retainer clips further down, but have had no joy so far finding them. Any help or thoughts would be greatly appreciated. When I get these installed, I'll post up some pics and procedures in the modification forum as I'm sure a few of us will have to replace a cover at some point. Thanks!
  16. I was just thinking the same thing.. I've upgraded a lot of OEM parts and basically have an SES now less the ambient lights, all for less than a grand so far. This would top it all off. I see the accessory remote one but not that interested in that tbh. Were you successful? Am assuming OEM parts could be bought but finding stuff on their parts site is haphazard at best.
  17. Anyhow it's 1:40am and am back tomorrow so will respond to any questions when I'm back and no longer jetlagged!
  18. Sorry, it's a UK model and an ecoboost 1.0l I think or 1.3. Not sure. Goes like hell though but was hard not to slow brake and kick in EV :/
  19. Just ending a trip to my original home over the pond, and here's my 2014 C-Max rental. MFT doesn't exist here - sync only. Stick shift and a button for the parking brake which was a pain. I love the look of the front grille and the rear reflectors under the bumper and has a built in scuff protector. And no, it doesn't have the mods the 2014 hybrid has unfortunately - no longer hood seals, no rear window deflectors, and no underbody wheel deflector things. Mpg btw was about 49 in US money. Was a great drive and helped me get over missing mine :/ No 12v issues btw ;) If anyone else has driven an overseas C-Max, and has thoughts about them vs. ours, maybe this can be a discussion? http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/uploads/gallery/album_106/gallery_504_106_503534.jpg http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/uploads/gallery/album_106/gallery_504_106_1579680.jpg http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/uploads/gallery/album_106/gallery_504_106_1745597.jpg

  23. From my own experience driving through rain and seeing the accessory gauge fill up pretty much immediately, indicating some excessive draw on the 12v, and the scangauge showing a lower than usual 12v level than usual, and looking at the water pump connectors themselves, I can pretty safely assume it's that. Would suggest anyone with an SE with issues look at the accessory level on the dash after rain and see what happens. I added the Ford perimeter alarm on mine and just looked and the light ain't flashing, so guess what I'll be doing again tomorrow.. Didn't even drive today but it's been humid and was a pretty bad downpour earlier. Love this car, but am getting tired of all the visits to the dealership and drop in lifetime mpg that comes with it. The car now sees as that place an EV+ location and has for months.. Grr.
