Any radio button problems on any SE’s? Interesting post on the other C-Max forum. “Unlucky Posted 25 January 2014 - 10:30 AM If you can't change the preset for button zero on your radio, that is a defect and the radio needs to be replaced. In fact, my zero button was causing a small short which drained the 12 volt battery after not using the car for 3 days, which should not happen because the car turns everything off automatically. It took the local dealership 5 days to find the short. After they replaced the radio, I can program the zero button and have not lost power.” http://cmaxhybridowners.com/topic/475-radio-preset-for-button-0-does-not-program/?do=findComment&comment=1043 Post #5

Cambridge Crude Sludge Battery Breakthrough at MIT Sparks 'Cambridge Crude' Speculation “The sludge could refuel electric vehicles by being pumping in and out of electric batteries. Pump out the used sludge out and replace it with fully charged electric sludge. The new battery architecture may allow the development of more compact and less expensive battery systems, according to the researchers.” http://www.forbes.com/sites/williampentland/2011/06/10/sludge-battery-breakthrough-at-mit-sparks-cambridge-crude-speculation/ I can see a total electric car :jump_earth: making a cross-country trip, I want one! Alex Take a look at this, it's been mentioned a few times in different threads...because you disconnected the 12V battery. It from pg 97 of my user manual 1st printing. Resetting the Bounce-Back Feature WARNING: The bounce-back function remains deactivated until you have reset the memory. You must reset the bounce-back memory separately for each window after the battery has been disconnected. 1. Lift and hold the switch until the window is fully closed. 2. Release the switch. 3. Lift the switch again for one more second. 4. Press and hold the switch until the window is fully open. 5. Release the switch

13C07: Re-configure instrument panel cluster module.
wab replied to Alex Sams's topic in Maintenance, TSB's & Recalls
"but the inverted screen sucks" Ours had the inverted screen....You haven't got to the hard part yet. I found this somewhere??? " recalibrate touch screen by, pressing eject and seek up buttons at same time and hold. Screen will go black and white and a speaker walk around test will start, Press end on that test, Press apim diag selection at top left, then select touch screen calibration, touch cross at all corners as instructed then touch screen again when done to return to diagnositic menu. Then press exit diag menu." Because you screen is upside down you have to do the recal upside down. After the 2nd failure I stood on my head...it worked. Keep trying and good luck wab -

You need to recalibrate your touch screen. I'll update this in a few when I find the thread. wab Update: Here’s the thread. http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/topic/2129-recalibrate-screen/?hl=recalibrate -
Ours has been VERY stable for several months. Before the last upgrade I found that if I rebooted my phone everything cleared up. PLUS when I turned OFF"automatic phonebook download, re-download your phonebook" the whole system became quicker/more responsive.

I put short pieces of 2X4's in front of the ramps, car climbs the 2X4 then on to the ramp.

Strange, long wooooo sound at steady speeds, ICE on
wab replied to Alex Sams's topic in 2013 Ford C-MAX Hybrid
Alex We traveled several thousand miles last summer with recirculate turned on (very few with it turned off) never a woooo. Ford has gone to a lot of trouble keeping the noise level down in the C-Mac, don't think they would even consider bringing the under hood sound in (BMW). -
I worked on one of you pictures.

Sounds like the old "phonebook" problem. Check this search for "phonebook". http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/index.php?app=core&module=search§ion=search&do=search&fromsearch=1

Interesting, anybody have a cmax older than rfaunce. Wonder if the original SEL fell off (we are developing a reputation for being rear ended) and was replaced with a SL badge from a Nissan, Mercedes etc?

Good job, didn't take you long. Could you post another pic, maybe 2. 1 from 25' and the other from 50', catching the front and side. Thanks

"Jon Beasley Posted Yesterday, 07:39 PM Nothing in my 'Inbox nor in my 'Spam" Jon Did you find the “PM” from Ashley? If not, go to the top of this page on the black bar where you log in/out. There’s an icon that looks like an open envelope, this is the PM icon. You can edit (bottom right corner) post # 68 to remove your email. Hope this helps wab

"Posted Today, 10:56 AM So Ford rejected my request for buyback under Wisconsin's lemon law. Not sure exactly why since the car was in to be fixed for this battery issue 5 times this year and off the road for 30 days. They don't provide a reason. I guess the next step is the BBB process. I love my cmax!" Lonescurt It may be too late but you could send a PM to member “FordService” (Ashley) http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/user/1579-fordservice/ or like Bill-N suggests Johnnohio used his attorney general. PM @ http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/user/509-johnnohio/ At this point the BBB probably can’t offer much help. Good Luck

barkeep….time for another :airquote: round. Some of the threads on here remind me of my 2 brothers and I in the 1950’s. We decided we could build a better B52, one that didn’t shake our house when it took off. We got 2X4’s, nails, a saw and hammer and went to work. Several days and 2 busted thumbs later, SUCCESS! We flew that thing everywhere  and it didn’t make a sound. -

Recall affecting braking smoothness/cruise shutoff/downhill lurching
wab replied to MacGyver's topic in General Discussion
Like Scuba I have a very smooth stop, but I rarely use my brake pads. When I use the pads I have a brake score in the 80's. -
I think otbiker wants shiny...me too, although I DO like your black on white ones. The problem with after market wheels, they are HEAVY, till you get in the BIG $ range.

"Thanks for the reply wab! I'll check it out tomorrow to measure the drilling point, so we don't have an existing factory firewall on the cmax right? What about all the cabin fuses wiring that goes to the battery main fuse at the engine Bay? Do you think I can squeeze some wiring in there?" There are several holes in the firewall the inside fuse block is on the passenger side. "My dealer have installed a Ford oem remote starter when I bought the c-max, I seen some sort of white cable goes along on the hinge of the hood then all the way down to behind the brake assembly, do you think they already make some sort of firewall somewhere to get the installation done?" I bet they did, maybe you can use it. "If I use the drilling method, do you use any hydraulic jack to lift the car up so you can pull the wire from underneath the car?" I put the car on ramps. PLEASE if you use a “hydraulic jack to lift” your car DO NOT get under it with just the jack holding the car up! "And one more question What fuse do you think the best for me to add a circuit for the laser jammer CPU? My option right now is the radio which has 15A with it, and the next one would be the cigar lighter fuse with 20A." Check this thread by mtb9153. http://fordcmaxhybri...ge-2#entry38705 "This will be a big help! Thanks a bunch again! " wab

Welcome to the forum The firewall is made out of surprisingly soft metal. I made several trips between the underside of the car and the inside. Measured I think 2” down and 2” toward the door from the steering column grommet, PLEASE take your own measurements. I pulled the carpet back and drilled a small pilot hole then a larger, then one big enough to hold my grommet and wire…easy The hard part will be getting from there to the front, watch out for the grill shutters. Hope this helps, my neighbor has jammers on his Chevy 2500, says they work fine… Till he was doing 85+ in Kansas after being up for 30+ hours. Edit: I took a picture.
