OUCH Welcome and Greetings Here's a link for the taxi transmission SSM, located in the "Maintenance TSB's & Recalls" sub forum. "Some 2013 C-MAX Hybrid and 2013-2014 Fusion Hybrid vehicles operating in taxi service may exhibit a metal-on-metal scraping-type sound from the transmission." http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/topic/3094-ssm-44252-hybrids-in-taxi-service-hf35-transmission-bearing-noise/ Someone mentioned that their wife drove @ 70+MPH for a couple of hours in LOW, didn't hurt anything.

Glad you got to go home for a few days, any more pictures? Now if Ford offered "The 1.0 litre EcoBoost engine is available with 100 & 125 PS and delivers fuel consumption of 54.3 mpg (Grand C-MAX) and 55.4 mpg (C-MAX) with a CO2 output of 119 g/km (Grand C-MAX) and 117g/km (C-MAX). In fact, the EcoBoost petrol engine’s fuel consumption and CO2 emission figures are more like that of a diesel." or either of the diesels "TDCi diesels. Now with improved power, torque and economy Both the frugal 1.6-litre TDCi and the powerful 2.0-litre TDCi diesel engine have seen a number of technical improvements to increase energy efficiency. That means higher performance but lower CO2 emissions." We would trade TODAY! But wait there's MORE "Ford PowerShift transmission for more fun on less fuel Combining the convenience of an automatic with the control of a manual, this 6-speed, dual-clutch automatic transmission pre-selects the next gear for you, so you don’t lose any power when you change. http://www.ford.co.uk/Cars/C-MAX/Performance-and-efficiency#primaryTabs It only took 10 years to get the first cmax to the US, wonder how long before the better versions get here?

I learned a long time ago that "the dealer" is always the last to know. Not my oldest example: In 1998 I asked one of the bigger dealerships at the local new car show, " when will the SVT Contour get here?" His response "never heard of it, hey Tom you know anything about a SVT Contour?" Tom's response "WHY WOULD THEY DO THAT! Hey Bill you heard any rumors about a new SVT?" Bill's answer "I just read about a Contour that will be here later this year." My answer "Bill do you have a minute?" made the first "salesman" a little mad.

I made a deal with our salesman. I would leave it on and ever time someone looked at it he would pay me a dime. He laughed and said "deal". :yahoo:

Name one like and dislike with your C-Max?
wab replied to armoredsaint's topic in General Discussion
YEP just like ours, till the next time the car is started :nonono: The last 3 Fords we've owned have had set it and forget it climate control, but not this one. EVERY time we get in the car dw has to adjust her side. Sorry Ford but this is a deal killer if it's on the next Ford we look at! -

Like: Ford keeps sending us money. DISLIKE: ford refuses to sending us money for the AS DESIGNED AUTO DUAL ZONE AC that IS NOT auto and IS NOT dual zone! -
What the frack? It's cracked.

Check your insurance. We have glass breakage for a few $’s a year. A couple of weeks ago we chipped the windshield. Zero for us, $59 for the insurance co. But the insurance co has “a deal” with the repair shop and only paid $39. Both the repair shop AND our insurance say that it won’t show as a claim therefore no rate increase. Which pays for the “Glass Breakage” for last year, this year, next year… -
Which Cmax are you getting? The SEL's don't have nearly as many dead batteries. It seems that most of the SE's are ok, just the ones built  during a full moon :headspin:

Greetings and welcome You can use the "Test Forum" to create your posts. It's located at the bottom of the forum home page. Here's a link to the "Test Forum" http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/forum/29-test-forum/ It's pretty easy to get interested in a forum like this, go to each sub forum and anything that interests you join in. Example: Do you do your own maintenance? http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/topic/3855-diy-oil-change/ Again welcome and enjoy wab

After a recent 1300+ miles @ 75+mph round trip to Colorado my 8 yr old grandson (he doesn’t :love_shower: MISS ANYTHING) mentioned that we were missing some leaves and asked what happened to them. They only show when we shut the car down, the left display is set to entertainment while driving.

Greetings Do you know if your car has had 13B12 preformed, sounds like this is your battery problem. Here's a link in the Maintenance, TSB's & Recalls sub forum. http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/topic/3291-13b12-check-battery-and-reprogram-the-front-controldisplay-interface-module-fcdim/ If you post in 5 different threads you can send a PM to Ashley, she's in Ford customer service and monitors this board. http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/user/1579-fordservice/ Click on "Send a message" but you have to have 5 posts first. wab

Did you get a chance to check for EV at 60+ mph? Pre 13B07 we could only get mid to high 30's post (successful) 13b07 we jumped to low 40's. Easy 5mpg jump. Now with a completed break-in around town we stay in the mid to low 40's with 0 hypermiling efforts, mid 40's with very little hypermiling. Traveling at rural Interstate speeds (75+) NOT SO GOOD, mid to low 30's. wab

A/C is "on" whenever I turn on the Climate Control
wab replied to Adrian_L's topic in Climate Control
Our 2013 SEL seems to be a little different. The ac settings are always the way they were every time we start the car. Compressor off or on. Recirculate off or on. Even the AUTOMATIC dual zone temperature settings are different (72 for the driver 74 for passenger) But within seconds the passenger temp setting changes to the driver setting (72/72). This makes DW a not happy rider, she reaches over and gives her thermostat a GOOD twist and growls at me…ggerrrr! Which makes me a NOT happy driver. -
Recreational Towing (behind a motor home)
wab replied to jmckinley's topic in Cargo, Hauling, Roof Racks & Towing
Greeting and welcome Sorry for the slow response, we’ve been out of town. We now have 4243 towed miles on our cmax with zero towing problems. The “new” towing instructions WILL NOT keep the battery from going dead. You will need a charge wire (and ground) from your motor home to the cmax. Take a look at the these posts, a charge wire is really an easy DIY if you have a 7way on the back of your mh. 85 86 (I didn’t install fuses, the charge circuit is fused on our MH, I DID install a diode protecting the MH from the cmax) 92 -
Greetings and Welcome What’s your priority list? Here’s ours. EASE of entry and exit: DW has arthritis, cars have been OFF OUR list for years. Carrying capacity: We travel in the summer. Performance: Surprisingly the Cmax performs fairly well, could use a few more horses from both motors. Comfort: MPG: In the winter, around town we easily get mid 40’s mpg. In the summer on our 75 MPH trips we easily get mid 30’s mpg. Good luck in your search and let us know.

What does WD-40 stand for? “WD-40 literally stands for Water Displacement, 40th formula. That's the name straight out of the lab book used by the chemist who developed the product back in 1953. The chemist, Norm Larsen, was attempting to concoct a formula to prevent corrosion—a task which is done by displacing water. Norm's persistence paid off when he perfected the formula on his 40th try” I usually have a couple of cans of silicon but only 1 can of WD40 on my work bench.

I see a pattern. You might casually :flirt: mention to your dw that you have to have your foot firmly on the brake pedal every time you do anything to the car while stopped.

Your drive must look like ours. I lube all the door seals about every other month. Which reminds me, it's been at least 3 months....ssquuawwwk

Power lift gate "duh" moment
wab replied to fotomoto's topic in Alarms, Keyless Entry, Locks & Remote Start
Our kick to close has always worked better than the kick to open. Before the software upgrade kick to open rarely worked, it works most of the time now. -
Greetings and Welcome SEL’s don’t seem to have very many battery problems. Have you seen and voted on this POLL? http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/topic/1294-for-those-who-have-had-12v-battery-problems/page-10?hl=poll& Defective batteries do happen, sometimes from day 1. A friend works for GM, one of his jobs (several yrs ago) was to replace the dead batteries that wouldn’t even start the car to drive it off the assembly line.

They took it off the car, cleaned and reinstalled. Works perfect, the whistle is gone.

We had a really good tank yesterday. Cruse set at 77mph for most of the tank. About 450 miles, bought 10.32 gal, low fuel light not on. Indicated MPG over 42. On this same trip we usually get in the mid to high 30’s, we drop about 5k’. The only thing different this trip than the 6 we made last year. My self-installed Ford style 2014 hood seal…. YEA RIGHT We didn’t run the AC at all. :yahoo:

I bet there are SOME Ford engineers WISHING they could have been there to observe this REAL WORLD 12v battery going dead!!!
