  1. "You can't really ban these cars from being driven because of the harm it would cause on the innocent owners of those vehicles." States that do an emission test (CA,TX,etc) every year will quickly get them off the street. In TX no inspection ='s no license plate.
  2. Our Blue Ox baseplate has them. They should have installed them when the baseplate was installed. You won't be able to see them when properly installed. The last picture shows them. http://www.etrailer.com/Base-Plates/Blue-Ox/BX2639.html?feed=npn&gclid=CLzE8Knu7rUCFU-mPAod-wMAIw
  3. This is opening old wounds, reminds me of our 2013 camx. Ford lost and we lost a lot of money because of 47mpgate.
  4. Here's the one we have. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Pyle-PL12V1-Cigarette-Lighter-Port-Extension/17242489?action=product_interest&action_type=title&item_id=17242489&placement_id=irs-106-t1&strategy=PWVUB&visitor_id&category=&client_guid=263be560-b2ee-482f-8a0d-e42a48bd7915&customer_id_enc&config_id=106&parent_item_id=29029305&parent_anchor_item_id=29029305&guid=ee2f7999-99ce-4e89-a527-4b9c141bd8b0&bucket_id=irsbucketdefault&beacon_version=1.0.1&findingMethod=p13n It pulled apart once because of the spiral cable, our Patriot notified us that the battery was low. Saved us from a dead 12v cmax battery. Here's the one we should use. http://www.amazon.com/RoadPro-RP-203EC-Extension-Cigarette-Lighter/dp/B000Z0HVHA/ref=sr_1_27?ie=UTF8&qid=1441107567&sr=8-27&keywords=12+volt
  5. It stays on in our 2013 hybrid. Over 10K towed miles, most towing days are over 10 hours. We use a 12v extension cable from the rear.
  6. Loaner from June 30 and no firm date for the return of our car would definitely put ME in "that much of a hurry."
  7. Look for a new round of dead 12v's in the near future. I'm not sure when cmax production started (mid year 2012...sooner???). There are a lot of 12v batteries reaching there expected life span although they do live in a pretty nice environment instead of under the hood. Maybe we'll get 5 instead of 4 years.
  8. Some "decision makers" only think in a straight line. "Car is broken, order part, put part on car, next problem, etc." Some "decision makers" can't think in a straight line. "Car is broken ... parts on back order... we have 6 on the lot...hhmmm... happy customer" Maybe a well worded email (one of our demonstrator C-Max will be out of service for a few weeks) from you could knock a couple of months off of this problem...
  9. We bought a new Thunderbird Turbo Coupe in 83, the door lock button was broken when we picked it up. Salesman said to give him a few minutes. He told us the service dept. was taking one off of the other Turbo Coupe and would be ready in a few minutes... Maybe Meagan could ask your "CSM".
  10. We were in the 20's one tank in S TX on state highway 130, running over 90 on a 85 mph toll rd. with a very high headwind. I'll try to take some temperatures in a few weeks, we'll be bringing the granddaughter back from CO. I set the eco-cruse @ a gps indicated 79 mph. 79 mph turns our 11 PLUS hour commute to S central CO. into a 10ish hour trip.
  11. When the transmission is in neutral and I hit the stop button the only message I see is "Shift to Park" and some warning chimes. If I sit in the car long enough the dash light go out just like it's going to sleep, same thing happens when I hit stop and open the door. The car is NOT asleep just dozing, the battery WILL go dead after a few hours with NO charge wire.
  12. We're almost @ 50K miles like you most are highway miles, most @ 75+ mph. I'm going to go with # 6 we have NO covers ;) and # 10 in TX and New Mexico our AC is almost always on :)
  13. We have to have our SEL in accessory because the transmission is in neutral. When I hit the stop button most of the car goes to sleep, BUT not everything which will run the 12V battery down after a couple of hours, the MH keeps the battery charged through the charge wire.
  14. Greetings and welcome The cmax has been an excellent toad, we have over 10K towed miles on it. We like to share the $'s, Roadmaster tow bar, Brake Buddy charge wire, Blue Ox base plate. I don't like the Patriot braking system ( the 3 legged base is a terrible idea + when it's time for the morning and every 2 hour motor run I can't get in the car ) and plan to install an Invisibrake.
  15. No battery problems on a dolly. Park it on the dolly just DO NOT set the hand brake. We traded our CooperS/dolly for the Cmax. Put it on the dolly a couple of times. Sold the dolly on Craigslist for about half what it cost to modify the cmax for 4 wheel down towing.
  16. Found some on ebay most less than $75. Lots of Kia and BMW 1 Maserati $65, 1 Ford $100 used  .
  17. SO I thought the new body control module and ALL new software last summer was why we jumped from 39 to 40 on a good day to 42 to 43 on ANY day. Except for 75+ mph tanks, that went from 32/33 to 34/35. This is our second filter it has about 20K miles on it. We had a chipmunk living under the hood for a couple (???) of weeks last summer, I started parking in a different spot every day when I saw him/her duck in between the hood/windshield/finder. If we drop back to the old MPG's I'm going to throw some cotton in the intake.
  18. If your battery has been NEARLY dead "several occasions when I get in Maxus in the morning and the battery indicator is completely drained", then it has been damaged. If Ford wants to replace your 3 year old battery let them.
  19. I tested ours yesterday. Level street, foot on brake Put car in reverse, take foot off brake Car slowly moved (not going to call it accelerated) to maybe 2.5 MPH. Speedometer didn't move till speed was approaching 2.5. Took about 20' to reach 2.5. I suspect jchunter has a bad module and or corrupted software. jchunter you might want to get our Ford service rep involved. http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/user/1579-fordservice/
  20. kostby I'm reposting your link so that it goes to the first page of the Poll thread. http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/topic/1294-for-those-who-have-had-12v-battery-problems/
  21. Madmax98, sounds like your 12v battery has failed and will need to be replaced, your dealer will be more than happy to test and replace it under warranty.
  22. Greetings RIe Is you car up to date on ALL the dead battery TSB's? This is the newest. http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/topic/4797-tsb-14-0155-hybrid-and-energi-–-discharged-12-volt-battery/ and I think this is the oldest. http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/topic/3138-tsb-13-7-10-12-volt-battery-discharged-will-not-hold-charge-radio-with-42-inch-display-only-built-before-6222013-supersedes-tsb-13-04-13/ Check the maintenance and TSB sub forum. http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/forum/15-maintenance-tsbs-recalls/ Send Meagan (our Ford Customer Service member) a PM with your name VIN and mileage, it's the open envelope at the top of the page close to your user name. You'll need 5 post before you can send PM's, go the "Test Forum" sub forum and start 3 new threads or reply to 3 existing threads.
  23. Doesn't sound good. Does it have a "rebuilt title"? Go to a Ford dealer and have them check your VIN.
