  1. We have a little over 7K miles with "wheels down", no problems, with most tow days around 500 miles. Which means we have over 32600 miles on the tires. Good to hear "no trouble found" maybe something caught in between a brake rotor and caliper?
  2. I keep the fob with me. I do not lock the car, to many horror stories on this thread about dead batteries, haven't had one (at least while towing)! I let the parking brake off once and didn't realize we were on a slope, tugged on the MH a little I thought. When I got in dw :wub2: said WHAT WAS THAT? I told her I was checking to see if the cmax could push the mh if we broke down or ran out of gas. She said it felt like it.
  3. Ouch on the "Under Carriage Shield", what ever caused the damage probably damaged something else. I've hit a lot of stuff, climbed a center median (very slowly) barely made it across...scrapppp. Finally figured out that if I raised the seat I would quit running over stuff. Except for the time I drug it over a LARGE truck tread at 65 mph behind our motor home :banghead: . Shield looks OK only a few scratches.
  4. AMA904 might be interested in pennies per mile? Higher MPG with your TDI, but higher price per gallon. Lower MPG in your cmax but lower price per gallon. Have you ever calculated .00's per mile for each? Which brings up the next calculation. Higher purchase price for a diesel or hybrid versus a high MPG (civic) gasser.
  5. We get mid to high 30's in the daily death match at 70+ mph. We get low 30's at 75+ mph on the 75 and 80 mph Interstates. I googled "MPG at 75 MPH" https://www.google.com/search?as_q=&as_epq=MPG+at+75+MPH&as_oq=&as_eq=&as_nlo=&as_nhi=&lr=&cr=&as_qdr=all&as_sitesearch=&as_occt=any&safe=images&tbs=&as_filetype=&as_rights=&gws_rd=ssl
  6. Here's a link to the "Possible Water Intrusion In Connectors" SSM 32298 thread in the Maintenance, TSB's & Recalls sub forum. http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/topic/2428-ssm-32298-2013-c-max-fusionmkz-hybridenergi-possible-water-intrusion-in-connectors/ "SSM 32298 - 2013 C-MAX, Fusion/MKZ Hybrid/Energi - Possible Water Intrusion In Connectors Some 2013 C-MAX, Fusion/MKZ Hybrid/Energi vehicles may exhibit various drivability or electrical concerns accompanied by one or more diagnostic trouble codes, with the most common being P26C3, P26CA, P26D0, P2800, P2802, U019F and U0284. On C-MAX inspect connectors C134, C140, C144, C1651, C1717 and C1812 for signs of water entry/corrosion and service as necessary. On Fusion/MKZ inspect connectors C146, C1651, C1812 and C2251 and service as necessary."
  7. Sorry for the late reply, 10 yr old Granddaughter gets 18 hr days on our yearly trip, 9 yr old Grandson starts his Wed. Hook up car to MH. 1. Start car as usual 2. Shift to all gear positions P,R,N,D,L,D,N 3. Do not put foot on the brake, push stop button 4. I wait till the 2 driver screens and the odometer go dark before 5. Opening the door, this will darken the center screen. Nothing on but “Shift To Park” and “PRNDL” I usually check the parking brake 2 or 3 time to make sure it’s off, or is that 3 or 4 :drop:. Hope this works on your Energi, CCC_Max also tows a Energi but hasn't been active.
  8. Greeting and Welcome I keep the fob in the MH for our hybrid. When you open the door to get out of your Energi to get in your MR do all three screens go dark except for a yellow warning in the left that says "Shift to Park" and the transmission in neutral? We leave on a 400+ miles 1 way trip in the morning I'll post our setup procedure and an this weekend. wab
  9. Update II: Passenger seat frame replaced, new incandescent bulbs, new BCM (body control module) and an almost new battery. Assistant service manager says dead battery caused by LED's in the license plate caused the car to not go to sleep. Maybe the new BCM will clear the "extremely long time to upgrade software" problem.
  10. +1 Once I had to rerun an upgrade 3 times before it worked. Then I changed manufactures  bce, we used to celebrate, call each other and the boss when a software update worked the first time.
  11. That 12v outlet will shut down about 5 minutes after you turn the car off. Leave the console open and look in after at least 5 minutes. Don't open the door AND don't carry the key fob with you, the blue light should be out. If it's on then you do have a problem. The 12v outlet in the back is always on but doesn't keep the car awake. The 12 volt battery is tiny, doesn't do much but operate some relays so the HV (high voltage) battery can start/run everything (AC, ICE (internal combustion engine) else).
  12. My sister in law :headspin: only it's not Uncle Harry, it's Aunt Joan. Drives me crazy.
  13. SDG is a 1 time poster, replied to this thread at 4:52, left at 6:48 hasn't been back. I vote to lock this thread! wab
  14. Update: Our dealer replaced the battery and kept it over night to do the seat frame recall. It was dead the next morning. He says the license plate light isn't going out which keeps the car awake running the battery down. I told him about the LED's a few of us have installed and they stay on for a while, he said they shouldn't cause the car to stay awake but will remove them to test. He also said they've replace a wiring harness on a cmax to cure that ones dead battery problem. PM me if your in the DFW area and your name is Henry. More Monday wab
  15. This topic (question #1) was discussed last yr, not sure about the outcome. Here's a place to start, post # 122 http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/topic/2576-mft-36/page-7 I found this by doing a search for "address". Still looking, will update if/when anymore info shows up.
  16. How big is the chip/crack? Safelite says they can fix up to 6". https://www.safelite.com/Windshield-Repair.10933.0.html We've had 1 repair this yr. gravel/rocks/boards/nails construction is a way of life in N Texas. We pay a few $'s a yr for glass breakage. There's a guy that sets an awning up on a Lowes parking lot, don't even know where his shop is. He has a deal with our insurance co. $45 for him, $0 for us :), doesn't even show as a claim.
  17. sshhh maybe mtb wont read this. mtb is one on a few forum members that just likes to do stuff to their cars, make them better, unique, etc. I've He added led's to the outside of the cmax. I've He's also made several other modification's to the outside. I've $#&! sorry he I keep making little typing errors, also searched several European web site looking for upgrades, modifications, etc. Basically I'm (grrr) he's a car nut, maybe a little hyper active. wab
  18. There is a thread about this, somewhere, searching. Someone mentioned that "First Responders" are thought to look for the Hybrid badge, because of the high voltage, potential battery fire, etc.
  19. - mod edited to remove the spike and personal attacks - Move on, nothing to see here. Thanks, I got up early to edit this.
  20. The bar that attaches the car to the motor home puts all kinds of stresses on the suspension that the engineers don't consider. Our bar isn't level which takes some weight off of the front. You would think this would cause the outside of the tires to wear but that's not what's happening. Going around a curve is even worse.

    DIY Oil Change

If you use EV+ and are home the HV battery will be pretty low, sometimes ours is very low, it doesn't take long. When we're towing and the HV is charged :waiting: I start turning everything on.

    DIY Oil Change

Quote "What do you do to start the engine after the oil change to make sure there are no leaks? Turn on the heat? " The only way I've been able to start ours when we are towing (per the manual you're supposed to run the motor every couple of hours) is to turn the AC on and let it run on the HV battery, pretty soon the ICE will start. This is what I do when changing the oil.
  24. Greeting and Welcome No fix, our service writer says he checked a couple on the lot they're the same. DW and I have decided that this will be a deal killer on our next Ford, WE SURE like the looks of the new MKC. Here's how I fixed ours.
  25. We just got back from taking our Jan 2013 build SEL 303a to the dealer for a dead battery. I've noticed for a couple of months that if I set in the car for a few minutes after turning it off, listening to the radio, I get a message something like "Shutting down to save battery". Yesterday I had the lift gate open for several minutes when is shut itself. I got in just in time to see the above message and EVERTHING WENT DEAD!, wouldn't start, no lights, etc. I put my charger on, pegged the needle and the charger shut down. Next I hooked up my battery maintainer, it eventually charged the battery enough to start the car. This morning the lift gate unlocked but couldn't open... everything DEAD! Trickle charged again and took it in. NOTE: I had my  "jump box" :lol2: ready if needed.
