  1. I killed a prius yesterday. At a red light looked over gave him the ol thumbs up, light turned green, counted thousand1 and 2 and punched it...beat him to the next red light (ALL lights are RED in Ft. Worth) by 2 lengths. He wouldn't even look at me. Seriously.. if you can get that thing into the 20's SOMETHING IS WRONG. take it in!
  2. A friend has an 08 version of sync, his wife prioritizes #'s in her phone by adding A's ADon AANancy AAAhome The first time I heard the sync lady say :hysterical: "AkAkAkhome" I thought she need the heimlich maneuver :hysterical: :hysterical: . wab
  3. HhMmm someone was questioning me about why I want to remove the Sirius module. Now I can save another 5 maybe 10 lbs by changing the battery. PLUS would probably never have to change the 12V battery again. BUT if I was REALLY serious about weight I would have bought a base SE, several lbs lighter than our SEL. Plus 3 Golfer posted a link that shows how to access the high voltage battery, which should help removing the 12v. http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/index.php?/topic/1378-lithium-battery-vents/#entry11257 post #3. wab
  4. "Look under both "FRONT" seats to see if there are plastic vents...my SEL has that and I would think the SE does also. It's not mentioned as an additional item when you get the SEL."
  5. Looks like Paula forgot to reset, caculate and enter her 4th fillup. Looking forward to her 5th eerrrr 6th fillup. wab
  6. I may be one of those you see. I drive in Arlington TX a lot. 10 cars stop at a light 3 seconds later the second car moves forward a couple of feet, everybody behind pulls up. 5 seconds later the 4th car pulls up a few feet, everybody pulls up 4 seconds later the 6th car pulls up a couple of feet, everybody pulls up It's like this the whole light, every light, all day long Sometimes I don't pull up tell the 5th or 6th time, 2 to 3 car length Sometimes I don't :runaway: Edit: I was taught to stop where I can see the tire of the car I'm behind (sometimes I do it 4 or more times per light), NOT 5 feet of asphalt wab
  7. I asked our salseman how many CD it held. He said he couldn't remember the last time he had seen any NEW Ford with a CD changer. I went  I forgot they are obsolete and will be gone in a few yrs. wab
  8. The electric motor is a External Combuston Engine, in the C-Max the combustion happens in the ICE. Some of the Combustion for the Energi happens at the electric co power plant. wab
  9. Didn't work as planned for me. It logged me out and wouldn't let me log back in. Kept telling me I have JAVA scripts turned off, I do. The forum thought I was trying to do a SEARCH without being logged in??? edit: OPS failure to follow instructions. Saw the part about "*.infolinks.com" wab
  10. The real problem isn't the fuse panel. It's IF the fuse blew WHY DID the fuse operate? wab
  11. I'm definitely NOT a hypermiller. I DO know what the bottom half of the gas pedal does, this thing actually sounds pretty good. I've always been able to get 1 to 2 mpg better than my wife, she's a pedal twitcher. Which may be why I can't hit 40. I'm very good at maintaining a steady speed, don't move the pedal much. wab
  12. Update Got it back yesterday The tech couldn't duplicate the trouble. Checked for TSB etc... I made a video. Start car Turn on dual zone Go to store, dual still on when I turned it off Restart car... dual still on... for exactly 2 minutes, every time! We're taking it back Monday. The service writer will take a test drive , watch the video OR both. More as it happens wab
  13. That's what my hypermiller friend said. :rant2: Anytime I've been with him he's courteous, keeps to the right, drives a little below the speed limit and accelerates nicely away from stop and red lights. Both of us have the same feelings about extreme MPG, doesn't mean much it's all about the $'s.. He's VERY good, squeezes every penny till it doesn't even squeak. wab
  14. Sorry, I live in Texas, couldn't leave em on but 3 or 4 months a yr. wab
  15. This is a question I asked a friend who is a certified hypermiller, he consistently gets 50+ in his 04 Civic. Here's his answer. "YES it bothers me..." I'll leave the rest of his answer off, to avoid bashing and ranting. Now here's the question. Does it bother you if you're 10th in line at a red light and a hypermiller putt putt putts away from the light starnding you and 3 other people at the light? We're at 825 miles, 38.0 MPG and I have to work at that. NOT much (don't want to work at it at all) but I do work at it. I'm a little disappointed they we're not over 40. wab
  16. ECE External Combuston Engine http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ECE
  17. Sorry but the EPA WILL NOT be changing or testing anything. We've been sequestered. CALL YOUR congressman
  18. I wish I was a "goofball engineer" but I'm not. "So, I go to connect my phone charger to my 12V outlet and nothing happens." Was the car on  ? I can't check, (cmax is mia) I think the front power point is OFF if the car is not ON. wab
  19. Like Wingrider01 I've lived without a spare for years + I traded a Mini CooperS with no run flats and no spare. You see those goof balls driving on the side of the road killing their tire and rim. That will be me if I have no cell service.
  20. We took ours in yesterday @ 500 miles. 3 minor issues and dual zone climate control does not work. The default should be ON or OFF depending on where the user sets it. update when we get it back wab
  21. That was a joke...right PLEase tell me it was a joke.
  22. I think it's a size thing. Works every time for my wife 8 AA, I'm a 13 D never has worked for me, didn't work for the service writer today until his 3rd try he's probably an 11. wab
  23. I'm not angry. I like Sirius You left out Good Buy which is the way I should have spelled it. This isn't my first adventure with Sirius... NOT going to give them unlimited :baby: access to my credit card! A few yrs ago motorcycle manufactures looked at every single part on their motorcycles. They weighed them, figured out if they even needed some of the parts and made a lot of the parts do dual service (the motor became a structural member). If all the parts lost just a few .00oz.'s when you add them together you end up with much lighter bike. Auto manufactures kind of did the same thing in the late 70's, they just made everything smaller. wab
  24. Seriously... I've always tried to keep the extra Lbs. to a minimum. I know people who could live out of their car, including food and water for a week. Soon maybe I'll remove the battery charger, etc. wab
  25. Ford is adding Spotify. :worship: http://www.forbes.com/sites/parmyolson/2013/02/25/the-new-car-radio-spotify-and-ford-hook-up-to-launch-voice-activated-music-streaming/ And good riddance :yahoo: , now how do I get it out of the C-Max? I know it will go away in a few months, I can pull a fuse, ETC! But I want it (the Sirius unit OUT) gone. Anybody know where it's located? wab
