  1. Any reprogramming of the PCM clears out the stored values in the tables that control vehicle operation. It takes up to 1000 miles for the car to relearn your driving style & behavior.
  2. This would definitely be a concern in the Energi since it has an AT&T cellular modem.
  3. I agree that in a single instance the measurement is not accurate. For for Energi owners like you & me, recording the ETE at a full charge over time will show battery capacity loss. The same is true for our Focus Electric. With the Energi I can still read kWh to 3 decimal places with Torque Pro. In the Focus Electric I can only read data with FORScan and now I lost a decimal place of specificity.
  4. The problem with this is that we lost a decimal place now... In Torque Pro you can adjust the decimal places displayed. In FORScan you cannot. When it showed Wh that effectively showed kWh with 3 decimal places. Now that this was changed by FORScan it show kWh with 2 decimal places, thus we lost a level of data. I wish this change hadn't taken place...
  5. Very nicely done! My wife would love it if I put that much time & effort into cleaning & shining the tires. I also have Bleche White to clean them and some Black Magic Tire Foam to shine them. But cleaning them is the hardest part because they get so dirty & brown, especially after winter.
  6. New fluid won't provide better lubrication if the issue is a bad transmission design. New fluid would only help if the issue is that the fluid is wearing out & not providing adequate protection.
  7. Most aspects of the profile are not visible publicly. You will see your own answers on your posts, but others do not see them.
  8. Why is it not practical for a 30 mile drive? On a 30 mile trip you'd use about 3/4 of a gallon of gas in the hybrid or maybe about 1/5 of a gallon of gas in the Energi plus about $0.75 of electricity. The Energi makes a more efficient use of energy on each trip, regardless of distance traveled.
  9. As Steve says, the Energi doesn't really cost any more and the long term operating cost is much lower. There is no long distance travel for which the Energi is not practical. The storage space reduction in the C-Max is minimal. Exactly! We got our Energi cheaper than we could have gotten a hybrid Fusion. The MSRP was almost $46k, but we paid $33k before the tax credit, $29k after the tax credit for an Energi Titanium with every feature except navigation. Excuse me! That's ridiculous! Going to the gas station is a pain. Plugging in at home and always getting into a cool car in the summer or a warm car in the winter is far superior. It takes less than 10 seconds to plug in and unplug. I don't know why you're so argumentative about this.
  10. Hot & humid! The dew point is in the mid 70s!!
  11. RockAuto.com has good prices. Buying in bulk makes shipping more cost effective. They also sometimes have promo codes for 5% off which usually roughly nets out to eliminating the shipping cost.
  12. Do you track your gas tanks with Fuelly? I'd be curious to see if you see this improvement over 6+ months. I've found that one trip doesn't mean much because wind & other conditions can have such an impact. For example, a few weeks ago we did a highway trip in our Energi and got better than 50 MPG because there was no wind. This past weekend we did a similar trip and struggled to get 45 MPG because we were fighting a crosswind. On a recent 1000 mile road trip to visit family we used about 4 gallons less than previous trips because we had the wind behind us both northbound & southbound, usually we have crosswinds on this trip. Perhaps your recent results in the 2015 are just due to wind & not to any changes with the car.
  13. Lifetime tracking of your MPG, EV miles & Brake Score. It's very useful for seeing your long term fuel economy & ICE use. Really, I'd just get an Energi. It's a far better buy than the hybrid. Having owned both a Fusion Hybrid & now a Fusion Energi I don't know why anyone wouldn't get the Energi. It's a much better vehicle.
  14. Read the forum & you'll see that many C-Maxes suffer this issue.
  15. The 2013s have some features that other years lack such as the Lifetime Summary. I'd get the 2013, but with a brand new 12V battery.
  16. We didn't do any hypermiling. We were going 65-70 with the AC on. MN also has constant hills, at one point we were 500 feet higher than the elevation at home. We get closer to 30 miles of EV range in the summer.
  17. No, I don't have a lab where I could do a controlled experiment. The EPA tests are done in a controlled environment. If you do 25% better than EPA MPG in the hybrid you should be able to do 25% better than EPA in the Energi too. Add in the Energi EV miles and you'll do way better. We recently used 2.67 gallons on a 180 mile trip with two charges. That's over 67 MPG! We did about 56 MPGe on the trip. In the FFH we'd usually use at least 1 gallon more. The Energi is definitely the better car if you have an outlet at home & can sacrifice the cargo space. We have no issues with the reduced cargo space in the Fusion Energi.
  18. Why do you think that? The EPA ratings are 42/37 for the hybrid and 40/36 for the Energi (http://insideevs.com/ford-reduces-mpg-figures-plug-energi-models-c-max-fusion/). That looks like the Energi has a very minor decrease in highway fuel economy. We've seen no measurable decrease in fuel economy with our Fusion Energi. In fact, the Fusion Energi gets better highway MPG than the Fusion Hybrid with the 18-inch wheels & Goodyear tires.
  19. The OBDLink MX BlueTooth will read all the MSCAN & HSCAN modules. Some cheap adapters may not work correctly. I tried cheap adapters and they caused issues with the car. Since getting the OBDLink brand scanner I have had no issues.
  20. Yes there is a need for the driver to do something. This behavior does not meet the legal requirements of many states to have your headlights on anytime you use the wipers.
  21. The pump that runs when the ICE is on is just for cooling the eCVT. The fluid is naturally kicked up by the spinning gears when the car is in motion. There is no pump that circulates fluid.
  22. Have you tried an experiment where you remove all grille blocking and see what happens with TFT? The ICE obviously won't be as warm, but the TFT may also be cooler.
  23. Two options you may want to consider: 1) ask the dealer for a rental at no cost to you, if this dealer won't provide one you can try another dealer 2) send a PM to user FordService to involve your regional CSM If the noise you describe fits the TSB then they should perform the TSB. My dealer doesn't bother to attempt to verify the issues when I describe exactly what the TSB or SSM fixes and I give the SA the TSB/SSM number. In fact, they like it because it saves them diagnostic time which they may not be reimbursed for. It also allows their technicians to spend time repairing things & not chasing down issues.
  24. This recall doesn't have anything to do with the HVB. The HVB SOC can change when the car is off due to changes in HVB temperature.
  25. Did your TPMS light come on when you started the car? Do you have Discount Tire nearby? They fix flats for free.
